Anyone ever heard of Mazda employee “e-plan” pricing and, if so, is it typically better than you could negotiate yourself? I can see employee “s-plan” pricing online and it doesn’t seem as cheap as can be negotiated with the dealership?

Hi Michaell - thanks so much for all of the information you've been providing everyone! I am interested in details for leasing a CX-9 in 22182 (dealers zip, mine is 20001). I was looking at a 36/12 for the GT and the Signature. Do you have the MF and Residual? Also any deals or incentives? I currently lease a CX-5 with the same dealership.

Also general question, now that we are near the end of the 2018 season, is it worth it to wait for 2019 when not many changes are coming to the car? I have a feeling the RV may be lower for 2018s this time of year, but the overall car cost could also be lower.

    Thanks!

Thank you guys for your help. I'm not sure what the cap cost increase is. I'm not trading anything in, and I wanted to roll everything in to the lease with zero down. I'm in the NY, Westchester area. This is for the Touring AWD with premium package with color being flexible. 36 month/12k mi

Is a monthly payment of $350 (including tax) realistic?

You gave your ZIP as 15062... I assumed you were in PA

So, with $0 down, the items at the bottom of the list (1st payment, fees, taxes) add up to $2156.
Then, add the $595 acquisition fee.
    $39,966 adjusted CAP

    If so, I get $469/mo.

I'd guess they are marking up the money factor by .00050 (max allowed).. that gives me $501/mo

No.. you aren't going to touch under $400/mo, with everything rolled in.

To get there, they would have to drop the money factor increase (reasonable), and also drop the selling price by over $2000 (unlikely).

Oops, I meant 10562 as my zip code. Sorry for the typo. I guess I was in fantasy land thinking under $400/month. When I was reading through this thread, I thought I saw some guys getting leases for under $400/month. Another reason I was thinking lower price was because I was seeing people getting the car for about $3000 off MSRP. What would you say is a good target monthly price for this car? Thanks again.

Thanks again, Michaell. How does "lease cash work"? (sorry new to leasing for the most part). Is it just a rebate off of the MSRP?

Also would you suggest a good lease calculator to understand what the monthly could be with these numbers? I assume all we need besides these numbers are MSRP, final sales price, downpayment + rebates, and tax?

    FWD or AWD?

Hard to time the market …. I would suggest you shop when you need a car. MF and RV tend to move together, and the numbers on the 2019's, while unknown at this time, are likely to be worse as Mazda focuses their efforts to move all the remaining 2018 inventory.
Thanks! AWD on both, sorry I forgot to mention that...

For Mazda they are customer rebates that are applied as a CAP cost reduction.

We don't use on-line lease calculators, but if you Google, I'm sure there are plenty to choose from (including Edmunds)

We got a quote from one local Mazda dealer at end of June. The sales manager directly quoted that to us and said that's the best price. The RV & MF in July is not changed from June so I guess we still can get that price if we go back to him now. Just try to learn if that's the best price we can negotiate.
36/12k, He quoted both Touring AWD and Touring + Premium package AWD, silver color. The Premium package price is in ().
    MSRP: $37,755 ($39,680)
    i-plan Pricing: $35,772 ($37,432)
Acquisition fee: $595 ,the same for PREM
Mazda lease cash: $750 (loyalty, current we have a lease CX-5)+$400 (incentive), the same for PREM
    Net Capitalized Cost: $35,217 ($36,877)
MF: 0.00047, the same for PREM
RV rate: 61%, the same for PREM
    RV: $23,030.55 ($24,204.80)
    Zero down payment
    Tax rate in MI: 6%
Total monthly payment including TAX: $387.84 ($403.56)
Total due at lease signing: $727.88 ($743.60), including first month payment + $210 (doc fee) + $39 (title) + $8 (plate) + $83.04 (Taxes on D.P and Rebates, I don't know what's this, any idea what's this or it can be waived?)
We want to have the exterior color soul red so will that increase the price?
Is that possible for me to negotiate and get the Touring price $387.84 for the premium package?

Thanks in advance and really appreciate what you have done for all the folks, very very helpful.

I agree with all of those numbers and calculations.
Tax on the downpayment and rebate is because anything paid upfront reduces the monthly payment, reducing the tax collected on that amount. You can't get out of the tax.

Negotiations are two parties coming to an agreement. We have no way knowing if the other party will agree to a lower price.

But, I don't see any issues with those deals.

Thank you so much. Since the RV & MF is pretty fair and non-negotiable with dealer, then I guess the only thing I can negotiate is the i-plan price or any extra dealer discount to reduce the capitalized cost. When will the July-figures (RV&FM) expire? I plan to sign the deal before it expires. Thanks again

Since you pretty much know the model and trim you want, try to call other dealers close to you and ask them if they can beat that price.

I went to 3 local dealerships close to my city and the two best offers I got were basically $400 and $390 per month. The next day I called 4 dealers I was willing to travel up to 2 hours away and asked if they could beat the $390 offer. I asked for the manager who could make a decision over the phone...when the manager passed me off to a salesman to get my info I knew it wouldn't be their best offer - at first at least. Out of the 4 calls, the two bests were $375 and $365 per month. I took the $365 since it was the lowest and the manager was upfront and within 5 minutes on the phone (I had a trade-in too) he gave me his best offer that I trusted wouldn't change once he got me in the door. A couple days later a different dealer back to me at $350!

Basically if you know exactly what car you want, try to call other dealers and tell them that you are asking if they can beat an offer you already have. It helps if you are willing to drive - once I expanded my search to a bigger metropolis the dealers seemed to be more competitive. My feeling is that some dealers focus on large volume with lower markups while other dealers (maybe in smaller cities) have less volume so they have less wiggle room for profit. Anyway, it worked for me.

Also, thanks to kyfdx and Michaell for their help - the info helped me a lot!
