2018 Mazda CX-9 Lease Deals and Prices

Hi,

I was quoted some numbers on 2018 CX-9 lease that I'd like to confirm...

2018 CX-9 Grand Touring AWD
Term: 36mo/15k
Residual: 61%
MF: 0.000161
-No Incentives-

2018 CX-9 Touring AWD
Term: 36mo/15k
Residual: 62%
MF: 0.000161
-No Incentives-

Probably the best rates on a 7+ passenger SUV I can find right now...even better than the rates than currently offered for their 2017 counterparts. But are they too good to be true?

  • Thank you!

I had one dealer give me a MF of 0.00162 and I know he doesn't mark up. I do find it strange that the rates are more generous on the 2018's than 2017's.

PS - It's been tough going trying to find good rates on a 7/8 passenger SUV over the past few months. I hope the CX-9 works out!

That's a popular segment - you might want to look into the Infiniti QX60 - some great lease deals are being posted by folks.

  • I'm looking to lease a 2018 CX9 Signature or GT AWD, I was quoted 63% residual/MF 0.00161, I am more interested in the Signature but was told the residual is 57%/same MF for 3 yrs/36K miles. Does any one know if the residual has been >60% on the Signature historically in Oct/Nov/Dec. Dealer tells me he has never seen it beyond the 50s. I have time till December and willing to wait if historic residuals have been better on the new model year towards the holidays. Thanks for your help in advance.

    .00161 MF and 63%/56% residual for GT/Signature

The Signature residual has been at least 5% lower than the GT, since it was introduced last year. I don't see that ever changing.

  • Thank you that makes my decision easier. Is it too early to try to get the selling price to dealer invoice or  lower as there are no Mazda incentives or am I totally crazy. There are only a handful of 17s left in the area and a ton of 18s starting to come in.

No idea on pricing. Use the Make/Model/Year tabs at the top of the page to access Edmunds price tools.

  • Hi, So I am looking to get into a Cx-9 this week, I'm concerned that my credit might not be the best and they might offer me tier 2 rates. For the CX-9 do you know what would change from the above? Is it just the MF? Any idea what the MF would be for tier 2?

The MF we quote are valid for tiers 1-3 (680 or higher).

MSRP 43,760, sale price 40376, MF 0.00161, 3 years/36K miles,I am calculating out to 482.63 + tax. Doc fee of $150 waived. I pay 1st month + registration fees to drive off. Still haggling to throw in the the towing package which is dealer installed. Is this a good deal?

I get $465/mo.+tax, using the sale price as the adjusted CAP.
Are you adding something else? $595 acquisition fee?

I don't follow sale prices. If you are happy with the selling price, and it's time to lease a vehicle, then the rest of it looks good.

I was quoted $300 below invoice over the phone on a 2018 Touring. Given how new this car is if you can get a lease price of invoice or lower I'd say you're getting a good deal. With that said, if it were me I'd search high and low for a 2017 GT. The financing is much better, there's incentives, and dealers are going to be more motivated to sell at a discount. For example, I saved about $75 a month by going with a 2017. Plus the 2018 GT doesn't really have all that many upgrades over the 2017 afaik. Good luck.

Is the best MF 0.000161 or 0.00161? I've seen moderators give both figures but that's a big difference in effective interest rate: 0.39% vs 3.86%

.00161 (two zeros). If you saw one with 3 zeros, it was a typo.

  • Thanks everyone for your inputs. Leased a 2018 CX-9 GT with a sale price at invoice this weekend. Very happy with the car. The 2017s had better monthly payments but decided to go with the 18 for the following features - Front parking sensors, easier access to 3rd row seats(significantly better than the 17s) and to add icing on the cake heated steering wheel and 2nd row heated seats. It was a no brainer :-)

Does the first month get added like what this dealer is proposing? Shouldn't first month reduce the gross cap cost? Here is the breakdown they sent.

I suspect Mazda is still trying to clear 2017 CX-9 inventory. When the '17's are gone, I wouldn't be surprised to see the 2018 MF come down.

Msrp $42,555; 0 down, $1,500 drive offs to include 1st pymt, tax, dmv, doc fee and $465/mo plus tax (total $501) for the remaining 23 payments. I think I did quite well. With your prices, I get $369/mo plus tax; $406/mo assuming 10% sales tax.

Ask the dealer what MF they are using; if it's higher than the .00113 base rate, tell them (politely) you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.

    2018 CX-9 AWD Touring
    Premium Package
    36/10
    WA State

    MSRP: $39,890
    Adj Cap: $37,417
    Incentives: none
    Mo payment: $453

    Thanks!

    .00113 and 67%

With your prices, I get $369/mo plus tax; $406/mo assuming 10% sales tax.

Ask the dealer what MF they are using; if it's higher than the .00113 base rate, tell them (politely) you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.
Wow--this is much different than I expected and the payment is lower. Could I get MF & RV on 2018 CX-9 AWD Grand Touring for WA state 36/10 as well? I may be able to afford the GT... Thanks!

    Hi Michaell,

Does this deal sound good? I don't have the residual or MF for this model.
