2) I can also live with 2017 CX-9 Touring AWD - beyond find a vehicle issue, will it help materially with respect to getting a deal?
3) For a particular offer, what portions can be negotiated - beyond the dealer price? Is MF negotiable? How about RV?
4) Would waiting typically help get a better deal - either MF-wise or additional lease rebates? I have some flexibility in waiting to close the deal

2) No lease program on the 2017 model
3) Residual value is fixed. The money factor given is the lowest available for top tier credit. The dealer can markup the money factor for extra profit. The markup is negotiable. Just refuse any markups.
4) $330 lease cash, this month. No idea what happens going forward. This lease program is pretty favorable.
5) Nope.. it's just like any car purchase. Get prices from multiple dealers.

Ive never leased. Is the Residual Value percentage based off the negotiated sale price when the lease starts? Is that a binding purchase price if you were to exercise that option at the end of term?

Am I better off just buying and taking advantage of the 0% APR thru the end of January? Do they offer 0% financing often?

Residual is always a percentage of the full MSRP, including options and destination. (the bottom number on the Monroney sticker).
Most banks will not negotiate the residual at lease end.

If it's your intention to own the vehicle, then you are almost always better off purchasing it from the beginning.
We don't have any info on the financing.

proposed payment: $414 (12k miles); $404 (10k miles)

If I do the calculations on the 62% residual (12k miles), I get a payment of $401. On the 63% residual (10k miles), I get $390. I live in NC. Are my calculations accurate?

MF is marked up - base rate is .00061.

I agree with your calculations; MF bump is adding about $17-18/mo to the payment.

However, I believe that NC taxes the monthly payment, which means the dealer quotes are correct.
