Congrats!
Thank you! Kyfdx and you have been extremely helpful, as this isn't the only car I posted on. Really happy with how it all worked out. And if anyone's in this area, highly recommend the dealer. Great experience.

that's great!! congrats. can you tell me how much the fees were? did you roll the taxes into the payment?
Lease Agreement lists Capitalized Cost Reduction as $421, but N/A next to title/license/registration fees? We signed at like 8:55 so everyone was trying to get out of there. Taxes included for $379.
By my math, RV is 78%? MSRP = $39,375, Residual Value = $30,712.
I'm shopping a 2018 Wrangled UL Freedom. MSRP of 38375 and dealer claiming they can do 250 under invoice. Is that a good deal, doesn't seem like much movement . 42 months, 70% RV 670 down and a monthly payment of 351.

We aren't fans of "invoice plus x" or "invoice less x", since we don't really know the true invoice number. Research your pricing and make an offer you're comfortable with.
That said, $351/mo for a $38K Jeep with $670 up front is a pretty good deal.
Lease Question on a 2018 JL Rubicon - I am new to leasing and am trying to calculate an approximate lease payment. I am confused about msrp and base price. Jeep.com returns the following on a build I did: MSRP* $40,495, Added Options $9,485, Destination Charges $1,195. I use MF of .00125 (Florida) and 7.5% Sales Tax. Am I not calculating Gross Cap Cost correctly because I didn't add in Options? Does the MSRP used include options?

The residual is calculated against the total MSRP:
Base MSRP + options + destination = bottom line number on the factory window sticker.
I would counsel you to hold off on any new transaction until the negative equity is reduced or eliminated - at the moment, it is adding $275/mo to your lease payment.
$700/mo for a $40K Jeep is not a good value proposition
Thanks for your reply. Taking the negative equity out of the equation for the moment, is this an approximately correct lease payment for a $40k base plus approx $10k in options or am i off the mark? I just want to ensure I can model this correctly and evaluate other vehicles/packages with confidence in the formula.
total sticker Price w options MSRP 51175 = 40495 + 10680 in optional equipment Residual Value percentage 0.65 Residual Value 33263.75 Negotiated Selling Price 48104.5 assumes 6% discount off of 51175 Fees 1195 Gross Capitalized Cost 49299.5 Capitalized Cost reduction 2000 downpayment Adjusted Capital Cost 47299.5 Depreciation Amount - Adj Cap Cost -Residual Value 14035.75 Add Negative Equity on BMW 0 Base Payment - Depreciation Amount /months of lease 389.8819444 Rent Charge - Adj Cap Cost plus residual value X money factor 100.7040625 Pretax Lease payment - add rent charge to base payment 490.5860069 Total Lease Payment pretax lease apyment x tax rate 526.1534924
I agree that the value proposition of adding in another $275 from the negative equity is a poor value proposition. That said, it is a 2011 BMW vehicle, 46k miles with 45 months left on $600 payments (I know it was a bad deal). So that's $27k left to pay. Even if I refi that, it still is considerably more than the $9 or $10k negative equity I would roll. At least 275 X 36 or 9k rolled into a new lease gets me out and saves me $18k over that period and when I'm done with the Jeep 36 month lease I can get into a new vehicle clean. Seems like a far better out than keeping the 2011 and paying for costly maintenance (I am sure I will have costly maintanence - brake pads alone are $2k+... plus who knows what else. I've already had to replace the convertible top). The goal is to get rid of the BMW asap and get into a new loaded Jeep with all the great new modern comforts and features. I don't necessarily have to go full bore into a Rubicon. I could opt for something less pricey, but I had a TJ Wrangler Sport for years and don't really want to go for the same 2 door model. Is there some other way to contemplate this or is it the best of a bad situation?

What MF are you using for your calculations?
The best thing to do is to try to whittle down the negative equity amount - or, start with a much less expensive vehicle to lease.
Have you gotten a trade value for the BMW? You can check with the folks over in the "Read World Trade in Values" thread, or take your car to CarMax for a buy bid.
using .00125 as the MF. I should qualify for tier 1 credit with fico of 750 or so. I am using an assumption on the trade value. I assume I can get 12 for it which leaves 10 neg equity. I likely can do better but in this scenario analysis I am just looking to confirm that my formula for modeling this is correct. KBB shows range of 11.5 - 14.5 roughly, and BMW quoted me 12. I owe 22.8. Leaving the BMW out of the equation, is my math and formula correct? I haven't taken it anywhere yet, as I am not sure I want to proceed with any of this. Wanted to get a good idea of the numbers given these assumptions before proceeding.

Chrysler Capital standard money factor is usually between .00190 - .00230 range, so significantly higher than what you are assuming.
Seems doubtful you'll be able to roll over $10K of negative equity on this vehicle.

Can you please provide the residual value for a 2018 JK Unlimited Sport and Sport S for 36 months and 10k miles per year? This is out of Texas.
Also, I'm new to all of these concepts so could you please tell me where these residuals you provide come from? Are these the same numbers that a dealership will provide or will dealers try to offer a lower residual is in their favor?

Unlimited.
Standard MF and 63% residual for 42/10.
I'm not surprised they won't come down that far. Looks like a $5000+ discount to get to that monthly payment. Did they counter with any amount lower, at all?
The Sport, Willys and Freedom trims have substantially higher residuals, and might lease for less, but not knowing the pricing structure, I couldn't say for sure.

2) As far as the MF goes, is the standard MF based on someone with average credit? So someone with 800+ I would imagine would be able to get a better rate...

Hello, can you please provide RV/MF for 1. 2018 Wrangler JK Unlimited SAHARA 4X4 Automatic 2. 2018 Wrangler Unlimited SPORT S Auto

Thanks so much! That 72% RV is very attractive, and I think I'm going to chat with my dealer tomorrow. I haven't been able to find any other incentives or anything from Jeep - do you happen to know of anything I should be aware of? Maybe lower MF with Security Deposit? Dealer seem pretty consistent on a $700 acq fee and $500 doc fee based on other quotes they've drawn up for me... doc fee seems pretty high to me. Do I remember seeing in this forum that Jeep was waiving Acq Fee? Is holdback still at 3%?

If the acquisition fee is $700, then it's not a Chrysler Capital lease.

No MSD program from Chrysler.
Acquisition fee is not waived on the Wrangler, but for Chrysler it's $595

By my math, RV is 78%? MSRP = $39,375, Residual Value = $30,712.
Again, 39 month lease, 12k miles.
MSRP of 38375 and dealer claiming they can do 250 under invoice. Is that a good deal, doesn't seem like much movement .
42 months, 70% RV
670 down
and a monthly payment of 351.
How does that sound?
He also told me no lease conquest on wrangler.
Any advice?
claims 250 under invoice is 36623
That said, $351/mo for a $38K Jeep with $670 up front is a pretty good deal.
