I got the fees that the bank for Teachers Federal Credit Union uses for leasing (for Plaza Auto Leasing). Does this sound good? For a 1.5 or 2.0 2018 Honda Accord Touring, MF = 0.00160, Residual 55%, Acquisition Fee $799, and Disposition $400. Thanks!

    For 36/12?

By comparison, .00210 and 56% residual for Honda, with $595 acquisition fee.

If it's me, I stick with the Honda lease for an extra $18/mo. (minus $200 on the acquisition fee).
Honda has an incentive to treat you right at lease end. The credit union has no interest in you, at that point.

Not to mention, I'd go straight to a dealer, and cut out the middle man.

39/12... the dealer wants (with no money down) like $500/month (for 36 months)

For 39/12, that tilts it a little more to the credit union.

One bad offer from one dealer doesn't mean you couldn't do better than that.

Advantage Honda in Long Island NY wanted $499 for 36 month/12k lease. Only DMV and First month up front for a 2.0 Accord Touring. Thoughts, anyone? I'd prefer not to spend that much.... is this a good deal? They wont give me details over the phone. Dealerships around here (not sure about anywhere else) only want to discuss the monthly payment and nothing else, until the contract is created.

    $489/mo.+6% tax = $518/mo.

The only thing I added was the $595 acquisition fee.

Did not add Florida DMV or dealer fees. Be aware, those can be substantial, as FL dealers are famous for egregious dealer fees.

    Seem expensive, huh?

Thank you once again for your lightning fast answers! Beautiful car, definitely not worth that kind of money.
I consider a good deal and it makes financial sense to us if a car can be leased for a monthly payment of 1% / tax in from the MSRP, for 36/12, with the equivalent of 2-3 payments cash out of pocket. It can be done, if the manufacturer offers the right incentives. Right now we are at the end of a lease on a 2015 MB C300 with a 42K+ MSRP - 36/10 - 1500$ cash out of pocket, 336$ a month / tax in.
I will be extending this lease until I get a similar deal on a car that we like.
Please let me know if you know about a manufacturer with that kind of aggressive leasing programs from your recent deals (Acura Audi BMW Buick Chevrolet Chrysler Ford - Lincoln Honda Infiniti Lexus Mercedes Subaru VW Volvo) - under 400$ a month payment.
    Thank you!

You should check the relevant lease threads for each make and model you are interested in, so see if they meet your qualifying criteria.

We can't have a general discussion like this in a specific thread.

Got this quote today on two separate Touring 2.0T's from a dealer. Is this a good deal, or no?

    Vehicle Cost
    $32,460.00… Selling Price
    +$ 595.00… Acquisition Fee
    =$33,055.00… Gross Cap Cost

    Residual

    $19,812.60… Residual 54% of MSRP

    =$32,055.00… Net Cap Cost
    -$19,812.60… Residual Value
    =$12,242.40… Depreciation

    Rent Charge Calculation
    $32,055.00… Net Cap Cost
    +$19,812.60… Residual Value
    =51,867.60 x .00210 (Money Factor)
    =108.92/mo x 36 months
    =3,921.12 Rent Charge

    +$ 3,921.12… Rent Charge
    =$16,163.52… Term Total
    X 6% Florida Sales Tax
    =989.81… Lease Term Sales Tax
    =17,133.48… Total of Payments

    Total Payment
    $17,133.48 / 36 = $475.93 monthly payment

    Upfront Fees

He also said there's a Touring 2.0T coming in where they won't add any of the accessories they normally do (mud flaps, wheel locks, trunk mat), and then he could make that car's selling price $31,860 with a monthly payment of $457.33 and roughly the same out of pocket.

    Thanks!

That's not how you figure the tax in FL
The payment is taxed, each month. Not totaled, then added.
It won't change much, doing it the way you did it, but it's a difference.

Where is the $1000 CAP reduction coming from?

If you make a security deposit, the money factor will drop to .00200

Not a cheap car to lease.

It's a pretty big discount, but of course, they are taking back $799 for a dealer fee.
It's a decent deal for this vehicle, but it's still expensive, relative to MSRP.

I'd want to know what else I could lease for $475/mo?

Not a cheap car to lease.

That's just the exact formatting he sent me, not a calculation I did. He said there's a $1,000 Honda down payment assistance or incentive thing.

Just trying to understand if it's a good deal or not.
It's a pretty big discount, but of course, they are taking back $799 for a dealer fee.
It's a decent deal for this vehicle, but it's still expensive, relative to MSRP.

I'd want to know what else I could lease for $475/mo?
    Acura TLX?
I think the TLX is a better deal than the Accord right now. I'm at the end of my 2015 Accord lease, but best deal I could get is $499 + tax Sign & Drive. Love the Accord but can't justify that $$. Went and looked at the TLX last week and it handled better than the Accord. I got an initial online Sign & Drive quote for the TLX 2.4 FWD Tech of $359 + Tax and TLX 3.5 FWD Tech for $399 + tax in MA. Tax is 6.25%. Only first month due at signing. I plan to try and work the TLX deals lower if I can before signing.
    Check out the Acura.

That's not how you figure the tax in FL
The payment is taxed, each month. Not totaled, then added.
It won't change much, doing it the way you did it, but it's a difference.

Where is the $1000 CAP reduction coming from?

I am in the same position with a '15 Accord and the TLX deals are very good.
Dealers are discounting the Accord but the Standard MF and no lease incentive makes it ridiculous to get UNLESS you want the car NOW !
