No, it's a dealer incentive - use the knowledge of it to negotiate your best price.

I leased my QX60 on May 31 and put 8 MSDs and got a call from the dealer that the deal was canceled and I need to come back in. They want to reimburse me 1 MSD and payment goes up $8/month.

Are you sure you didn't make 9 MSDs, and now they want to make it 8 MSDs?

Otherwise, it makes no sense.

It won't be a fantastic deal, if you don't take the 39 month term. If you don't want to lease this vehicle for 39 months, you should pick another model.

With the following numbers:
MSRP: 50850
Selling Price: 40279 (includes lease cash)
Rebates: 2000 (VPP + 500 Loyalty)
MF: .00005 (with 8 MSDs)
Fees: 1316 + Texas taxes rolled in (there are some tax savings from a break-even trade in)

at 24 months 368.52 = 8,844.48 total cost
at 39 months 319.29 = 12,452.31 total cost

The difference is about 50 bucks, and it would save me the imminent need of tire replacement and running out of bumper to bumper warranty coverage.

It's not as sweet as the 39m but it's still a terrific deal, considering TX tax, right?

Infiniti Qx60 warranty is 4yr/60k miles, so warranty wont be an issue. Tires may be an issue. But the $2K savings total over 39 months can buy a few sets of tires.

That's weird.. Deposits are usually based on the pre-MSD payment, including tax, rounded up to the next $25 increment. As you can see, your deposits are $400 each, which seems correct. But, it looks like they are taking you from seven MSDs to six.

So, you got an 8 MSD discount to the money factor, but you only made 7 deposits.

I think the dealer has misunderstood the issue, and isn't fixing the problem.
Instead of asking you for the 8th deposit (you only made 7 - 7 X $400 = $2800), or, just raising the money factor by .00010, they are giving you a deposit back, and taking one credit away. This is still wrong. With the new plan, you'll have made six deposits, but get credit for seven.

Unfortunately, you didn't make the 8 deposits that you thought. I think the way to fix it, is to have them re-run it with 8 deposits, and you give them $400 more (as a deposit).
