8 MSDs would bring it down to .00005.
It takes 9 to get to .00001.

That last MSD saves about $3.50/mo, while the 8 before it save about $8.50/mo. each

General question regarding Multiple Security Deposits: I am being told that I need to cover drive-offs on my car in order to be able to use MSDs. After the conquest rebate ($500) that leaves me with about $553 to cover out of pocket. Do we need to have our drive-offs covered to use MSDs?

I have never encountered this before, but also, in the past, I had $1000-1500 rebate total which may have covered the remaining drive offs so I am not sure whether what they are telling me is true or not. I would rather not put money down as a downpayment (which is what the $553 goes towards) but either way, if I do put this down, I will make sure my monthly payment drops accordingly (~$14 a month).

Are you doing 36/12 or 39/12?
.00085 MF and 57% residual, either term.
39 months should be less.

The tax number is irrelevant, as you don't pay tax upfront on a lease.
So, subtract the tax, but add $700 for the acquisition fee.

What did they tell you about your existing lease? Is there an incentive program to get out early? Are they taking it in trade? If you don't know, it's hard to check the calculations.

Did they disclose the money factor and residual?
What is your tax rate?

That looks like the selling price, not the adj cap cost.

Those prices give me a payment of $468/mo; to get $590, the cap cost would have to be in the neighborhood of $52,250.

That is a delta of about $4600

6.25% tax on selling price - $2980
acquisition fee - $700
first payment - $590

That's $4270, so about $300 difference.

These are just estimates; it's best to get the full breakdown of the additions to the selling price to make sure there isn't any junk thrown in there.

$47687 might be the selling price, but it's not the adjusted CAP cost.
If that was the case, the payment would be $468/mo.

For $590/mo, the adjusted CAP is approx $52,300
About $4600 above that price.

$300 DMV/dealer fees (est)
$3000 sales tax (est)

That's almost dead on..

Considering the tax burden in TX, that's a pretty good deal.

Sadly, no.

You paid for the miles when you agreed to the payment. Can you take any road trips to add some miles?

There may be some positive equity if you were to trade the car in, but even that is not terribly likely.

Leases are not designed to give the lessee positive equity. You pay for that part of the car you plan to use.

(BTW, I'm in the same boat. I leased a Jetta for 12,000 miles per year. I am more than halfway through my lease and I have just over 10,000 miles on my car)
