MSDs are a great thing - you 'buy down' the MF with the up front money, and that money is returned to you at the end of the lease. You can make 8 of them, reducing the MF to .00006. Each SD is the monthly payment rounded up to the next highest $50 (pre MSD payment, so each SD is $750).

With the prices given, and using the base MF, $741/mo plus tax. With the reduced MF, $676/mo plus tax.

Do you get the same tax benefit on a trade-in when leasing like you would on a purchase with a trade?

I.e. Do you only pay tax on the different between the lease payments and the value of your trade-in?

We don't have that info for Illinois. If you are trading in a car that you own, there may be a trade-in credit, but there definitely wouldn't be if you were trading in a leased car.

What state and tax rate?
What is the amount Due at Signing?

The cap reduction is for title plates, fees etc. and is due at signing, the only amount due. They make first payment and tax is 7%, IL

I was bouncing around on the Volvo forum until the Lexus dealer may have roped me back in, supposed to go tonight. zip 07726 (NJ), 2019 GX 460 Premium 4WD, sticker $57,126, including some stuff i don't want like 1 out of 2 tablet holders (what?) and the protection package - anyway, with MSDs they were pushing for me to pay about $725/month which dropped on the spot to $695 which dropped to "maybe" around $660 - last night when i was walking away the manager called back and asked, "what if it starts with a 5?" - i figure $599/month - about $1,100 up (first month, some documents, tags, whatever), and they'll eat my last 2 lease payments on my Buick at $550 each. i think it's a good deal, asking your opinion, please, 36 months, 12k miles. they show on the mock sales slip $1,750 rebate/coupon and a $350 disposition fee. rolled into it (somewhere) is the (to me, BS) $599 of dealer doc fees. anyway, this seems like a much nicer price than i'm seeing for nicely equipped Volvos or Audi Q7s (which are also smaller in the back).

Can you live with a GX for 3 years? I've driven a GX and ridden in a Q7 and, to me, they are very different vehicles.

Curious about them "eating" the last two months of your current lease. I'd seek more clarity on that, as usually that means those payments will end up into the new deal.

But, $4500 savings from their inital offer is good.

and we're done - i don't love the GX 460, but i do LOVE the price/deal. sticker on premium with some nonsense like the "protection package" (extra mats and key covers?) - tablet holders? anyway, sticker of $57,126, rebate of $1,750.
$599/month, 36 months, 12k. 9 MSDs ($5,400) and $918.50 up front (dealer BS of $599 doc fees, and first payment). best part (in my opinion?) - $2,250 to buick to cover last 3 payments and anticipated turn in fee - if it's off by a few dollars i'm okay with that - so that means to me it's effectively another $62.50 a month less (not exactly, but close enough).
i don't know the MF or residual - and don't fully care. I am not sure if i can do a leasetrader or swapalease if we're unhappy, but for 3 years and what i think is a reasonably low payment for a decent vehicle i'm satisfied.
i will say i think the tech is a little dated, i don't love stepping up to get in, and i get completely squished trying to get in with the steering wheel, etc. - but since it's for my wife and she loves it, we're good - and i'll just hit button 2 on the memory seat to make it easier to get it. it will work out.
i can post photos when we get tomorrow if anyone wants/cares - claret mica with black interior with mahogany wood - the claret mica is a nice maroon. the black interior is...black. wish it had a heated wheel, but for the payments we can live with it...

picked up the 460 today, wife loves it (i don't, but it's hers, sooooo) - only difference in the deal is i agreed to $1,100 for a wheel package (unlimited flats/rims) and also paintless dent removal and windshield repair/replacement (wheels alone were $1k, the other stuff seems like a waste to me but for $100 i thought maybe it will help if we have a larger ding at lease return). as mentioned $2,200 or so Buick to cover our last car. I feel (again) the tech is dated, salesman said the 2020 is supposed to have upgraded tech, and cost a couple hundred more a month - for a couple of hundred per month i think the tech is great!
i really may replace the bulbs inside with LEDs - kinda annoying me.
