What msrp should I go off of? The Mazdausa website? The Mazdausa site doesn’t bump with the sticker. Also the dealer told me that for a lease they could not honor price that was on truevalue due to it being numbers for purchasing. I did not believe that as I am haggling as if I am purchasing the car after the 36 months.

There are different incentives for lease vs. purchase, so the dealer is correct in this case regarding the TrueValue pricing.

Thank you for all your help on this forum—truly spectacular. Just a follow-up question to this regarding lease price and purchase price. Previously, I've received advice that I should negotiate the sales price as if I were purchasing, then tell the dealer that I'm going to leasing route. Is that false? In that case, is there less room for negotiating in lease vs. purchase?
It used to be that easy. But, with varying incentives, you still want to negotiate price first, but no point in hiding that you are leasing.
Thank you so much for this. One more question, if I may. I won't be making a purchase for another few months (likely July or August), and was wondering if there's any general pattern of price fluctuation, just so I can plan my budget a bit. For example, if I were to receive a reasonable quote right now, is it likely that the cost will go down as it approaches the end of the summer, or is it actually completely unpredictable? I ask because the new lease programs for April (at least in NY) seem to be going at higher prices than it did in March.

Thank you so much again. I'm a bit new to this, so any help teaches me a lot.
Sometimes, near the end of the model year, you'll see some lease deals, but it's model specific, and might not ever happen for the vehicle you are interested in. The CX5 has a pretty good lease program, right now.
Thank you so much! I look forwards to checking back in closer to the time of my purchase!

Can i get the April MF & Residual percentage for a 2018 CX-5 2WD GT for 36/10k and 36/12k? This is for northern California.

I saw something in a previous post about $200 lease cash, but it was not in CA. Is that lease cash state specific / model specific? Is lease cash basically the same thing as an incentive?

I'm seeing this listed as a national offer: "$1,390 Mazda Customer Lease Support."

    What's up with that?

Hello, I've negotiated $399/m with no money down on a 2018 CX-5 GT. The sticker price is approx. $34,000. What do you think? I think I could do better- where should I be? I know the residual is 60% but I dont know the money factor. Thank you for your help! Are there any other vehicles in the same class with great lease deals going on right now?

    .00018 MF

The CX-5 lease deals are pretty good, but a lot depends on the price.
What is the selling price? Adjusted CAP cost?
    Term/mileage allowance?
    Which state?
    Tax rate?

    Hello,

I am in Virginia. It is AWD. The selling or sticker price is approx. $31k. The one I took on an overnight test drive is $34k though bc of accessories (roof rack, weather mats, etc.). The term is 36 months, 12km a year. We are in Virginia. I have not seen the adjusted CAP cost. The number was given to me over the phone. Love the car, but need to make the numbers work.

    59% for 36/12

VA taxes the entire selling price, so without knowing the selling price, we can only guess if your deal is good, bad, or can be improved upon.

    Hello, Michaell

Thank you for your responses to my posts. The CX-5 vehicle I drove was $34,545. It is a CX-5 GT AWD with premium package. I am in Virginia. I asked for 36 months with 12,000 miles a year. No money down. The opening offer was $420/m. I then spoke to another dealership across town. They priced a $31,615 CX-5 AWD (GT with premium package like the other one, but without accessories) at $399 a month on the same terms. I'd like to be in the mid $300s or lower on this vehicle. Do you think that is feasible in Virginia?

I am also looking at the BMW 3 series with AWD and the Acura RDX with AWD. I'm looking to save as much money as possible (I currently drive a Mercedes C300 at $461 month). I've already gone to Audi and Volvo, who stated they could not get me anywhere in the $300s or even mid $400s on the A4 or the XC60 even with $2000 down. What do you think my best option will be? I'd like to put no money down if possible, unless the numbers are significantly better somehow by putting the money down. It did not seem to make much of a difference on the Mazda.

The incentives page on Edmunds lists 2 offers:

    1) Lease Bonus for Standard Rates Offer - $360 ... what does this mean exactly?
    2) Customer $ Offer - $500 .. "Eligible customers may receive Customer Cash toward purchase or lease..." -- what is the definition for "eligible"?

    Thanks

Gaskins, I was told by the dealership here in Virginia tha tthe "eligibility" for the $500 is that you already own a Mazda at the same address where you would be registering the vehicle. I also heard from the dealership that there are incentives if you are military or retired military. Sorry I can't help with the Lease Bonus for Standard Rates, I'm curious abotu the answer to that too!

That all looks correct. I'd try for a lower selling price.
    Also, I wouldn't put $1759 down..

That deal is $290/mo, with just first payment due at signing.

OK guys question for you. Mazda has the 219 mo with 1999 down advertised on a $24,140 MSRP price on the cx 5 sport. How much can I get them to drop from MSRP on average. My brother in-law was going to sign and I just think there is room for them to drop the price for a better deal.

I didn't negotiate at all and the numbers I got for 12k/year, 36 months for 2018 CX-5 Grand Touring AWD were:
    $357 per month

    Due at Signing
    $357 First Month
    $595 Acquisition Up Front
    $1180 Taxes Up front
$250 DMV Fee Up + Tire Fee etc

    MSRP = $31,920
Using the numbers in this thread .00018 MF and 60% Residual I get the Selling Price as $31,700.

    Getting hosed...

Wow. I am surprised...then the numbers they were giving me were with 4% APR. I have never been this off the mark or they were selling me the car more than the MSRP.

Ask the dealer for the cap cost associated with their payment quote. If they don't want to play ball, find another dealer who will.

I was given this lease offer on a CX-5 Touring w/preferred package. Putting $1000 down, getting $750 loyalty, and $360 lease cash. Was told the Costco discount is $950 off the invoice price of $27,338. The following codes and amounts are on the printout. What are your thought/suggestions? Residual 61%; MF .00018; 36/10; Payments: $291.88

    MARKUP: -$950

Hello. After learning that there is no more lease support for MY 2017, I'm looking for residuals, MF, and lease cash for AWD Sport and AWD Touring trims of the 2018 Mazda CX-5 in 53711. Please provide the # of months you think are most attractive with 12,000 and 15,000 miles per year.

    Thanks again as always!

So.. is it $1000 due at signing? Or, $2110?

What is the difference between NET CAP and PROPOSE? What is PROPOSE?

Thank you for your help with this. I'm putting $1000 down + $750 loyalty + $360 lease cash = $2110 (drive off). And I'm not exactly sure what the difference is between NET CAP and PROPOSE? or what propose even means. The agreed price should be 26,388 if I get the 950 below invoice. And the net price seems a little high. But I'm confused and not sure if this all adds up.
