If I use $91,443 as the cap cost, I get a payment of $1194/mo plus tax.

Assumes all fees are paid along with the $8K down

Why put so much down on what is, effectively, a rental?

I was offered a 73,000 SE cap cost 36/10 $1,100 with $2,500 down, which I believe is way too much. What would be a good monthly fee for that car excluding taxes?

Also, I know you've stated that it may not be the best idea to put a large down payment on what is essentially a rental. I'm thinking the down payment lowers the cap cost, which ultimately lowers the lease charge portion of the monthly payment?What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

Those prices give me a payment of $991/mo plus tax. Assuming 7% tax rate, that takes the payment to $1061.

Could be the adjusted cap cost is higher than the selling price; could also mean a bump in the MF for extra dealer profit.

What is the full breakdown of the $2500 due at signing?

The potential money you save in interest would be wiped out if the car is stolen or totaled during the lease. If that happens, all the up front money is lost.

I believe is the first month, disposition fee (?) just inceptions(?) as they said.

Maybe I can wait a bit to see if the numbers go down, extend my actual lease for a couple of months, the 2018 just came out maybe further down the year the MF and RV get better...

The lease payment is largely based on the MF and the negotiated selling price.

You can structure the up front costs any way you'd like, though we don't recommend any cap reduction (down payment). That money would be at risk if the car is stolen or totaled.

If you provide us with a proposed selling price, we can model a payment.

Hi: Thanks for providing this great info. Negotiating a 2018 RRS SC with an MSRP of $98,866 and trying to get into a 36/15k lease. They quoted me $1,569 plus tax with $3,500 downpayment. What is the MF and Residual for this car for the stated terms? I am in Miami. Should they be the same for all dealers?

The lease numbers I was given don’t add up. Any help is greatly appreciated. Looking at 2018 RR Sport Dynamic MSRP $88,700, I have a trade with net of $1500.00 and assume I’m only paying taxes on the difference. My trades ACV is $42500 and tax rates here are 6.25%. They are discounting RR $1000. Got a call from salesmen today and my numbers are as follows - 36 month lease/12k a year, $5000 cash down plus $1500 net trade, payments $1605 a month. Seems off compared to what I’m seeing on here.

36 and 48 months are the best.. 39/42 not as good.

.00203 MF and 56% residual

Residuals will be the same.
Dealers are permitted to markup the money factor by as much as .00100, and many of them do.

Is this Texas? I wouldn't assume anything about trade in credit on taxes. Find out for sure.
I'm sure you can tell that's a terrible deal. You could buy the vehicle for that payment.

$1268/mo, assuming all other costs are paid upfront. (CAP cost at $1000 under MSRP)

Don't know your state, so not sure what those costs might be.. $6500 might cover all of it, but maybe not.

Yeah.. if they want $1600/mo. on an $88K vehicle, then things haven't changed.

Spoke to the finance director and said that I’m a tier 4(whatever that means) and that’s why my payments are so high. Does that sound right? And yes we are on Texas.

Tier 4 will definitely raise your money factor, but I'm not sure by how much.

You might want to shop around for a different make vehicle, and see what credit that other makes offer you.

Why are the money factors so different, shouldn't they be the same, or does it vary state to state. I figured the cost of money is the cost of money. Thanks for your input.

It varies from one trim level to the next. The bean counters set it up that way to promote a certain payment and a particular margin for each unit leased.
