Hi, saw someone post about the R-Design in the MD area, but I'm curious about numbers for the Momentum trim. Please provide RV/MF for the Momentum AWD in the 20740 area for 24/12, 36/12 and 36/15. Thanks!
In a traditional lease though, you could buy it at the end of the lease if you wanted, right? So at least there is a possible value to you in the monthly lease payments. Under this subscription service, that's not the case, as I understand it. It's just the flat fee, you can switch cars after a year and restart the clock on your subscription, and that's the ball game, never any ownership.
I've never been interested in leasing as I usually keep my cars for a long time (currently have a 2005 350Z which I might be replacing soonish, and a 2010 Volvo V70 which we hope to drive for another 6 or 7 years).
But as hubby and I round the curve into our 70s, it makes a little more sense to possibly lease or "subscribe," as we are entering the years when physical changes might mean different needs.
Still seems expensive to me, and limiting in that you have to change cars on their schedule, which might not be when you want or need to switch. Intriguing idea though.

Funny, because I think the target audience for these types of offers are the millennials, who "lease" their phones, and subscribe to TV and music through vendors like Pandora, Spotify, Hulu, etc. And, as they get older and their transportation needs change, they can modify their subscription to move to the next size of vehicle. I think of it as a transition to autonomous vehicles, which I also suspect will be paid for via a subscription.
Yes, you are correct that you can purchase your car at lease end, but if the intention is to keep it for years, it's better to just buy from the beginning, and skip the lease specific fees and such. Plus, you're now financing a used car at lease end, with commensurately higher interest rates.
I agree about better to buy from the beginning. I always have my car savings account going, so as to avoid financing. Keep it simple, pay cash, start saving up for the next 10 years...
It's interesting how the needs of Millenials and the needs of, let's say "mature," drivers are often similar. One or two drivers, need for some cargo space but not the whole soccer team, safety, convenience for urban driving. I can see the XC40 very much appealing to both groups.

And that is the hottest segment going - the small or mid-sized 'luxury SUV' category. Everyone wants a piece of it.
Do you by chance know if there were any changes to the MF’s or residuals for April 2018 for the XC40 AWD R-Design? Would you be able to estimate what my payment would be for the following vehicle:
2019 XC40 T5 AWD R-Design 36/12 Zip:19127 (City of Philadelphia, PA) MSRP: $45,935 Money Down: First months payment + taxes and fees
What about 36/15?
Are there any incentives, rebates, etc. that I should know to ask for? Does Volvo offer any lease conquest (or lease payoff) for exiting a BMW lease 2-3 month early for this vehicle?

April programs don't start until Tuesday, April 3rd. We won't have any information until then.
Looking for RV and MF for 2019 XC40 Momentum 36/15 - are they offering any leases above 15K miles? Or any info on excess miles cost? I do close to 20k miles a year... Zipcode - 07076 and 10583

T4 or T5?
15K is the max mileage we have residuals for; you'll have to check with the dealer to see how the extra miles affect the residual.

Can't give you a payment unless you provide us with a selling price.
I like to hear from people who post here wanting the MF or RV of the XC40, with Volvo having this subscription lease, are you thinking about using this service? I mean, the lease comes with 15K a year, 1K of wear and tear forgiveness, insurance, and the ability to get a new Volvo in 12 months.
Good Evening Michaell, I'm in Florida, would like to know the RV/MF for XC40 T5 R-Design / 36/15 / and also MSRP at $45,935 / they ask for $2500 down / $539+tax mo. Yay or Nay? Any throughs? Hope you could help. Thanks.

I think the idea of an all-inclusive subscription service is great, and I would like to see more automakers offer one, or at least offer insurance bundles and maintenance bundles. That said, the current Care by Volvo options aren't appealing to me for the following reasons:
1) The Momentum in the subscription doesn't include all the options I want, and I much prefer the leather seats in the Momentum to the R-Design's leather/cloth combo.
2) $600 + tax is too much per month/not competitive with separate maintenance and insurance. I think it might make sense if insurance is very expensive for you and you don't want to put any money down. My target monthly payment for a 10K/36 month lease is $350-$375 (after tax). I will have to put down $1500-$3000 depending on the sale price, but that's doable for me. The first three 10K maintenance intervals are included with this car, so there's effectively no maintenance cost during the lease. My girlfriend and I are on a two car insurance policy and we pay the full premium upfront instead of monthly. The XC40 with $1000 deductibles would cost us $398, or about $66 per month averaged out. Volvo leases include GAP insurance, so I save about $26 per term not buying that from my insurance company.
For me, Care by Volvo would cost at least $5000 more over a 3 year period. Granted I could swap out the car two times and drive more miles, but neither of those things are important to me.

What do you do about insurance, if you have more than one vehicle? If it's your only vehicle, it could work, but I doubt it's a good deal from a financial perspective, over shopping for your needs, individually.

Thanks for replying, why are you putting money down on a lease, the golden rule is ZERO down except for fee's. If you are doing it to keep your payments low then leasing an expensive car might not be for you. Keep the downpayment, and use that money to help pay for your payments but don't give it to Volvo.
I like this idea that Volvo has but I think the monthly is too high. Now if I was a 25 yr old then this might be a good way of getting a lower total price (which includes insurance.) But for a household that has more then 1 car, not a smart move, UNLESS Liberty Mutual has a way of giving you a discount if you change policy.

This was my thought too, as I wrote before, I wonder if Liberty Mutual has a program to move your insurance to them with a discount.
I also agree that the Care by Volvo program is overpriced. I especially don't like that the taxed amount (which is 11% here in Philly), is for the entire monthly subscription amount | 700*0.11= 77/mo in taxes. Alternatively, if I lease, I would be paying taxes on about 520/mo + taxes. | 520*0.11~57/mo in taxes. Also, I wanted the lava orange carpets, which you cannot get under Care by Volvo.
In the Philadelphia area, dealers seem to have enough demand that they are asking for MSRP. I was originally quoted 591/mo incl. taxes, tags & fees (36/12, zero down, 45935 sale price) but that was with the residuals and MF's from March. I don't sit down to sign the papers until next week (when the vehicle gets in), so I still have time to negotiate and ensure the deal is okay.
Did either the MF or residuals change from last month? Given 0.00007 MF and 61% residual, I'm estimating the payment should be closer to 572-575/mo. including 11% taxes.

I was looking into the subscription in Texas and the dealers dont want to answer anything abiut taxes. Ine told me I would have to pay tax in full msrp....how can that be?!

Texas taxes 100% of the selling price, even on a lease. Discourages leasing, in most cases, and I suspect it would also greatly increase the subscription amount.
That doesn’t sound right. In states where the taxes are due up front, I would assume it would be on Sale Price - Residual Value, and not the full sale price. In states where taxes are paid monthly, like PA, we pay taxes based on the monthly payment. So if the monthly lease payment is 500 dollars, and the tax rate it 9%, the totally monthly payment would be $545/month. The leasing company manages the details. In a typical lease, that means we are paying taxes on the depreciation + financing cost (and anything else rolled into the deal). With Care by Volvo, we would be paying taxes on (depreciation + financing costs + insurance costs + maintenance costs... etc... everything included in the subscription). I glad personally glad we pay taxes monthly, even if we pay a bit more in the long run. Paying taxes up front seems like a big hit.

But then you would never end up owning the car, right? Seems pricey to me for a car you don't own.
You'd have to run the numbers to see if the subscription service makes sense.

Do you by chance know if there were any changes to the MF’s or residuals for April 2018 for the XC40 AWD R-Design? Would you be able to estimate what my payment would be for the following vehicle:
2019 XC40 T5 AWD R-Design
36/12
Zip:19127 (City of Philadelphia, PA)
MSRP: $45,935
Money Down: First months payment + taxes and fees
What about 36/15?
Are there any incentives, rebates, etc. that I should know to ask for? Does Volvo offer any lease conquest (or lease payoff) for exiting a BMW lease 2-3 month early for this vehicle?
Thanks for your guidance and time!

36/12
.00007 MF and 61% residual
$503/mo.+tax
You can't pay tax upfront in PA, it's levied and collected on the monthly payment. Likely 11% for Philadelphia.
