Hey Gents... Just want to check a dealer's math on the lease quote based on MSRP on T5 AWD Momentum with Vision Package and some additional features.

MSRP = $40240
Lease= 36 months for 7.5K mileage
We have top credit, so I assume .00047 MF
Would like to use MSD as deal will be done in NJ
They have quoted $450.53 with taxes and fees paid upfront

Is there any hidden costs based on this number? What would be the payment per month be if used max number of MSD's?

Hi there, new to leasing and after some negotiations the dealer went down to $525/month for 36 months, 15K lease with $3000 due at signing (includes all taxes). This is for a XC40 T5 Momentum loaded with a cost of $44,650 and residual of 26K and change in Colorado (80130) with excellent (800+ credit score). Is this a decent deal? Sounds like it may be high?

What is the cap cost associated with this quote?

CO taxes the monthly payment, so I'd ask for a full accounting of the $3000 up front. I'd recommend only paying the first payment at signing (registration is at the county level), and roll all other fees into the lease payment.

Thanks for the feedback. They did not disclose the cap cost so I will make sure to ask for that. This is McDonald Volvo in Littleton and it sounds like this is as low as they are willing to go. I may shop around... was not really getting the warm and fuzzies from them.

I've had pretty good interactions from their VW store. The Jetta I currently drive is from there.

Check Rickenbaugh and Sill-Terhar; have heard good things about both of them.

Thanks again for your feedback earlier. New dealer is offering XC40 T5 Momentum with total cap cost of $40,510 (including $795 acq fee) 61% residual and .000980 MF for a 36 months 15K lease. Drive off is $1108 with $541/month in CO (80130). Credit rating is excellent so I thought that MF should be lower but they are not willing to budge as it's a "non-negotiating" dealership. Is this about inline with what is expected for this car at this time?

When you look at this forum and the forums for the other models, it really brings home how much the dealers are going for the home run. People are snapping up inventory at full price.

Thanks, they are not budging from MSRP of $39,715. Dealers really seem to be treating this car as something "rare" that won't be available for long. You wouldn't know how many people have told me that if I don't put my deposit down immediately, my opportunity will be gone. I'll keep shopping... I am in no hurry at all. At the prices they are currently quoting it seems that Care By Volvo almost makes more sense. Appropriate all the help and feedback!

The acquisition fee is $695, but dealers are permitted to mark it up by $300 max, for extra profit.
(it's been that way for a long time.. probably on your previous lease, as well)

I think Care By Volvo does, indeed, make more sense. I enjoy the negotiating process, but it's still a bit of a hassle. Why not just order online and be guaranteed a good deal without the haggling, the acquisition fee, etc.?

2) You can't order a car through the website, as far as I know. They'll just hook you up with a dealer.
3) No idea. But, those calculators aren't famous for being accurate.

I just leased an XC40 Momentum T5 and thanks to this forum I didn't get ripped off. I had a car reserved and when it finally arrived, the salesman presented lease payment amounts that seemed way too high. I asked what the money factor was and he said it was .00180 or .00190 or something absurd. I told him I knew the base MF should be .00047 thanks to a "friend" who has access to this information. It took a couple more rounds of negotiating, but eventually they relented and gave me the base rate. The doc fee and acquisition fee were still marked up to $150 and $995 respectively, but I was already assuming they would be that.

So I just wanted to say thanks for the MF and RV information you guys tirelessly provide. It makes a big difference!

This is WA. I thought the base doc fee was $80.

There is no "base" doc fee. Some states regulate it. California restricts it to $80, which is probably where you saw that number.
