A dealer told me there is a different money factor for buying or leasing. However I thought money factor was only for leasing. Is this true what this dealer is saying?

I'd skip using the trade equity as cap reduction; you'll lose that money if the car is stolen or totaled. Have the dealer cut you a check for the $5K.

I get $551/mo, before tax, if I subtract the trade and incentives from the cap cost. I'll guess the MF is marked up to .00185.

I agree however what if all the dealers are using the wrong MF? How do I tell them that they are wrong when I know they are wrong? If there any documentation I could use as support

Just widen your search radius until you find a dealer willing to give you the base MF.

Or, suck it up and pay more.

Got it. Sound like a solid deal to you? Others seem to be getting similar off of msrp and I’ve taken advantage of all incentives I can as well as utilizing MSDs.
