What is the MF and residual for a manual S, 36/12? In MN. Dealer is telling me .0016 and 60% which I don’t think is correct on the money factor.

Is this a good deal?

you want a deal assessment and yet you haven't done your homework. without the sell price, we are only guessing. also need dmv fee estimate and tax rate for your locale.

also, is your current car a VW? they have 750 loyalty available

I know it’s smarter to roll the money at signing into be payment but aside from that, on a purely numbers basis, is this ok deal? The MSRP is 19,546. My math tells me it’s roughly $130 per 10,000 of MSRP. Doesn’t seem great but after a week or so of playing dealers against each other it’s the lowest. They swear that’s as far as they go. It’s in 33027 zip code. Thoughts.
Oh and they claim residual is 58%.

+4% for 7.5K/yr = 62%.

The dealer must use the correct residual. They don't have a choice.

It's not much of a discount.

Thank you. I’m going to tell them to pound sand. Trying to find the cheapest lease possible, don’t really care about make and model. I thought it would be easier with such flexibility. Hasn’t been the case.

I requested some numbers from my local VW dealer and got back this quote worksheet. These are just preliminary numbers before negotiation. One thing I noticed is that they included a $500 tax and added it to the cap cost to come up with an adjusted cap cost. Is that a normal practice?

You'll notice that I would also be paying taxes on my monthly use, so I'd basically be being taxed on my taxes....

If you add up your numbers, you'll see that the "total tax" hasn't been added to your CAP cost. It's an informational line/amount. The total of your monthly tax.

I'd guess there is a $195 dealer fee
VW lease cash is a dealer incentive.. Nothing to be applied.

It's hard to get great deals relative to MSRP on a low-priced vehicles, as the fixed costs are the same as a vehicle that is 50% higher priced (acquisition fee, title/license/dealer, etc)

But, then again.. I never commented on how great the deal is.
The 2019 Jetta does not lease exceptionally well.

@kyfdx Ahhh you're right about the total tax. I was confused because it shows up right above the adjusted cap cost. I agree that the deal isn't great, but I'm helping negotiate a lease for someone who's dead set on the Jetta. Hoping to get the selling price down to the TMV and then use the loyalty discount for an additional $750 off.
