Yup - definitely far from optimal. That said, with the $2375 lease incentive and the discount I've been given, I think the deal is at least "decent." I just think he jacked the MF up a bit and generated an additional $20/month.

Because of the huge upfront tax payment! In a lease, there is no advantage to paying anything up front because of the car is totaled, you're out that money. If in Chicago you really have to pay the sales tax up front, what happens if you total the car in month 2? You've now paid the entire tax amount on a car you had for 2 months. I think that was the point he was trying to make.

It doesn't really have anything to do with paying tax upfront. Illinois state tax is just like NJ.. The tax is only on the sum of payments, but collected upfront.

It's just the double taxation with the city piling on another 9% that makes it onerous.

Good evening. I live in NJ and my zip is 08558. I'm interested in leasing a 2019 RDX, AWD with Advance with a 36/15k milage. I have not gone to the dealer yet. What is MF and residual? I also want to include several dealer accessories and it appears there a factory to dealer incentive that is not included. I've seen from others in the forum that I should include that incentive in my negotiating plus an additional 7%. The MSRP appears to be 51,770. I should also get $1000 for dealer loyalty. I also have a 2016 RDX Advance with 51,000. If I use it as a trade, which I believe would get 21K how does that play into the lease?

Thanks for you response. The addendum is simply the extra profit which covers the overpriced adds that are on every car on the lot. I could continue arguing (negotiations) but when the car continues to sell before the delivery truck enters the state, it is a circular discussion. I have no issue with any business making a profit, but with this car, the profits are far above average. In this case, the profits may be used to help fuel a particular major racing organization’s operations. Ceramic tinting, door edge guards, door cup guards, cargo trays, special sauce, etc. On a positive note, the lifetime nitrogen is free!😂

Acura sets the programs to achieve a certain payment.

Many times, the residual is overstated, but we're seeing that trend end now.

The car is in great condition, with a little less than 13,600 miles on it. I have no more payments and payoff amount is $22,450.20. According to Kelly Blue Book, the value is between 23,103 - 24,065. I know I can trade the car in at a competing car dealership, but what's not clear to me is if I can trade it in at my home dealership. Thing is, I like my home dealership and my sales guy. With that in mind, what type of deal should I expect for a base 2019 Acura RDX? Can I get any leverage based on the state of my current car? Though I've leased before, I'm really nervous based on the extreme popularity of the RDX nowadays. Not to mention, I'm going to try to get a new deal done on the 13th of all days. You can ask your dealer if they will take your car in trade, and give you credit for equity, but since you have completed your payments, they may not want to (or, be allowed to by Acura). It has nothing to do with home or competing dealership. It's Acura or another brand that might make the difference.

We have heard about Acura crediting unused mileage towards your next lease, so that you can take a lower mileage allowance. But, don't see how that could help you, since you aren't even using the minimum mileage allowance of 7500/yr, now.

Seems like you would be a good candidate for a 48 month lease, with mileage needs that low.

The base MF is .00190; that should shave some $$$'s off your payment.

At some point, the law of diminishing returns kicks in. You could look for another two weeks and maybe save a few more dollars, but how much is your time worth to you?

Here's a question for you. It seems that the Honda finance MF is fairly high (0.00190). Do you see any advantage in going outside of Honda finance to find a better rate? Is this even possible?

With that said, I'd love to get the RV for both an RDX SH-AWD and and RDX AWD A-Spec for 36mo/15k in zip code 60060. It seems there's a $2400 leasing incentive too?
