You aren't using the correct formula for the calculations.

For 39 months, given those parameters, $907/mo.
That doesn't include any taxes or fees.

Closer to $1000/mo, with all taxes and fees rolled in.

I get $1143/mo including tax (7%), assuming sale price is the adjusted CAP.

That's a long way off.

So, they've either added $4500 in other costs, or they've marked up the money factor, or a combination of both (likely, the last one).

Ask for the adjusted CAP cost, and the money factor.

Expect the MF to be marked up. Massively, if they are a typical LR dealer.

so, the price dropped by $60/mo?

With the marked up money factor and that payment, the adjusted CAP has to be around $83,600.
That actually looks pretty close, considering dealer fees, $895 acquisition fee, etc, etc. Your $1864 upfront wouldn't cover all that.

So, now we are just down to the money factor markup.
That is adding about $38-$39 per month..

Not as bad as I thought it would be, when you told me you hadn't negotiated ahead of time.

Thanks ... kyfdx - I was using more of a monthly mortgage payment approach which does not mirror how auto lease payments are calculated ... what fees are rolled into your near $1K monthly lease payment? I was assuming no down payment w/r/t reducing the cap cost, but that all other fees (registration, title, etc.) were paid upfront. Thanks again.

$500 dealer/doc fee (est)
$895 acquisition fee
$1900 tax (est)

To know that, you'd have to know the drive-off amounts, and if any of that money is being applied as a CAP cost reduction.

Hello Moderator. I am debating between purchasing a new in stock 2019 RRS or purchase of a 2018 TD6 leftover, I am not using dealer for financing so interest rate is not a factor. I am seeking advice on the following, would appreciate any insight you can provide.

1) How much can I negotiate off of MSRP given the vehicle is a leftover and a diesel which seems to be less desirable and dealer has at least 4 of them in stock?

2) I also found one leftover 2018 heavily loaded MSRP 89K with more options than I would ever order on my own but they are really nice to have. It appears as if I can get this loaded 2018 for 80K (9K savings) or I can take an in stock 2019 at (80K about $1500 off MSRP) but this it has far less options. If I sell either the car in four years, assuming its in good shape with no accidents which one would be the likely worth more at the end? Guess what I am trying to determine with all else being equal would a 2018 with 9K more in options be worth more or less than a year newer car without the 9K in options in four years time?

Yes, the Land Rover programs are national
But, dealers can markup the money factor for extra revenue.

I don't think JLR Financial allows rate locks.

Until you sign a contract and take delivery, you can walk away from the deal.

Better confirm that your deposit is refundable, just to be safe.

Negotiate the selling price now, before you place the order. You lose the leverage to do so once the car arrives.

Get it in writing that you get the base money factor (buy rate) at the time of delivery. Then, double-check their number.
