After both my wife and I arrived at this dealership to view a vehicle I had seen online , We were approached by a salespersonand I said I was there to look at a particular vehicle. It happened to be where I dropped my car at valet and then we proceeded to look at it. He walked away and then came back and said he had sold it “to Kim from San Diego” and the person was coming back later to get it . if we wanted it , we would have to pay full sticker. I hadn’t asked anything about the price however since he went down that road I asked what the money factor was and then he got annoyed , how dare I ask what the money factor was. I mean how dare I know the word “ Money Factor”. He walked away and then came back and said interest was around 7% . He continued to be rude and arrogant so much that my wife asked just to leave as she felt uncomfortable and completely disrespected.

My advice to the Range Rover sales team,you might have good looking cars, but you have a short memory when you were struggeling to give your cars away and when the economy was not as strong as it is perceived to be currently.


To your rude and obnoxious salesperson David , I’m sorry that you have landed up as a car salesman since you obviously feel like you should be president of the United States and that you are better and more superior than the customers walking into the dealership, even if I did drive in a current 7 series BMW.
Give David some education , Do some research David, that’s not a 50k BMW

As a car fanatic , owner of 8 at the moment(I love modern and technologically advanced vehicles, my waste of money ) I am disappointed and disgusted by the aggression and arrongance that I was shown at Mission Viejo Land Rover by Salesman David.

I have a great relationship with John Pham at NEWPORT Range Rover who is a complete gentleman , but never had the specs of car I wanted otherwise I would have purchased it from him .

My wife’s comment was let’s buy something else I wouldn’t want to deal with that type of attitude if there is a mechanical issue, which as RR you don’t have a fantastic reputation of having mechanically sound vehicles.

I don’t believe I have ever been so disgusted and offended by a persons behavior .

As a person who deals with the media on a regulr basis , I intend to make an example of this individual and let the public know that they shouldn’t expose themselves to this type of behavior and avoid this dealership at all costs.

Let’s be real we not buying an inexpensive vehicle and even if it was, everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.

Bought the 2019 X5 V8 and it’s great !

Happy New Year, Michael and kyfdx ... I had asked about the RV and money factor for a RR Sport V6 SE (Base MSRP $67,050) ... and if loaded with my options + given the D&D fee has a total MSRP of $77,710.

I am looking for a 36 or 39 mo/7.5K lease with as zero down payment in NJ (07086).

You guys responded with a .00229 MF and 65% residual for either 36 or 39 months.

The dealer that quoted me the lowest selling price also quoted me an MF of .00169 but only a 59% RV. Is he looking at those figures for the wrong base trim/model? Or, do the options selected affect the RV? Obviously, I would be fine with the lower MF but the quoted RV seems awfully low.

I am looking at the new numbers for January and I still show .00229 MF and 66% for 36/7.5 or 64% for 39/7.5

Dealer cannot alter the residual value; that is set by the bank. Options and packages do not affect the residual, just the trim level, term and miles per year.

I cannot explain why they are quoting a lower MF, however; I do not see any RRS trim level with a .00169 MF

Michaell -- thanks for your follow-up ... I have to think that the sales guy just got the wrong MF and RV quote ... unless they are working with a bank/lender/financing entity that is completely off-market vs. competitors!

Michaell & kyfdx - I was told AFTER I had agreed on a price for a vehicle that the price for delivery and one of the options I selected has recently changed on the vehicle that I'm interested in ... and that the discount they agreed to give me would be applied to the revised MSRP. I was told further that when the manufacturer changes the price of any component of a purchase, there is nothing the dealership can do anything about it (other than of course to give me an extra discount ... which they are hesitant to do).

They said that even if I had ordered the vehicle a month ago at the then applicable MSRPs, the price changes would still apply to any vehicle delivered this year.

Is this how it works for all cars that are ordered, even though there was a mutually agreed upon price at the time of ordering? Or, is it more that the dealership agreed to a set discount rather than a price, and that is how it always works ... not just at this particular dealership?

My .02 on this (and, recognize this is only my opinion I'm sharing), is that if the factory raises prices, dealers are unable to do anything about it. Yes, they'll have cars on the lot with both the old and new pricing on them. This is a fairly common occurrence for all brands, not just LR.

The honorable thing for the dealer to do would be to add a discount equal to the price increase, to match what was previously agreed upon.

But, if you've read through any of the LR model lease threads, you'll know that "LR Dealer" and "Honorable" rarely find their way into the same sentence....

Chase and US Bank ... for their leasing programs ... I was told that the best available leasing terms for the SE trim this month based on these 2 banks was a MF of 0.00165 and an RV of only 58% for a 36 month lease and 7.5K miles annually ... they confirmed that they do not set these levels but that these were base levels being quoted. He did not indicate which bank provide those figures but is there anyway for you or kyfdx to confirm that one bank out there does offer those terms, given the disparity between what you guys have seen from other lenders (e.g., a higher MF at 0.00229 but a also a much higher RV at 66%) for the same leasing structure?

The numbers we quote are from JLR Financial (Chase).
We don't have the numbers from USBank.

Make sure they run your numbers under each program, to see which comes out with the lowest payment.
