I’m shopping for a Tacoma TRD Off Road and the dealer told me today that if I want to use MSD, the MF rate will be higher(standard - 0.00295) as oppose to an incentive rate(0.0028)without MSD.
does it make sense to have two different MF rates?

The incentive rate is .00228 for Michigan (you might have a typo).

We aren't familiar with the workings of the Toyota MSD plan, but it's entirely possible he is correct.

So if I punch those in the Edmunds lease calculator along with other info like down payment, etc I'm able to determine what my best case scenario would be for leasing one of those vehicles? Any comments on the attached sheet?

For anyone else on this board, is anyone willing to share info on the lease offers they've received recently? I'd be happy to start with an offer I was given today but passed on for various reasons.

The residual is fixed by the bank; the dealer cannot change it.

The MF is the best rate for your region; we've always understood that the dealer cannot mark it up, but that doesn't seem to be the case for you. Or, it could be a SE Toyota thing.

The other important numbers are the MSRP and the CAP cost.

But, I do have a question - I see the MSRP as $35,611, but in the top right it shows the price before discounting as $36,309. What makes up the difference?

I'd go with the $500 down scenario. Relative to MSRP, that is a decent payment.

@Michaell, I wasn't clear on the discrepancy between the MSRP and the Vehicle price either. I believe the cap cost they've used for the $500 down scenario is 34220.70 (look at the # to the right of the residual).

Is that Front Gross # in the lower right what they expect to make in reselling my vehicle?

The Gross is an internal number they use for profit/loss. It's not a real number. It's mostly used to make sure the salesperson gets the minimum commission on the deal.

I have a dealer offering a MF of .00335 which is substantially higher, but if that's his region's money factor, that's OK but I am just making sure if a dealer can amend the MF to be for your zip code or it has to be his own if buying in his state.

Correct. One set of numbers is controlled by TFS.
Taxes are controlled by the state.

This is for 36/12 4x4 V6 DC yes? I had a dealer come back and tell me it was 75% on the SR for 36/10 not 36/12. He initially said it was 72% until I mentioned I was sure it was not that. Kept on asking where I got my numbers. He came back with 74% on 36/12 SR and 72% TRD OffRoad. We will look at other dealers obviously but wanted to clarify it possible.

This is for 36/12 4x4 V6 DC yes? I had a dealer come back and tell me it was 75% on the SR for 36/10 not 36/12. He initially said it was 72% until I mentioned I was sure it was not that. Whoops - dealer is correct 75% is for 36/12 on SR DC; 73% for TRD OR DC

Ask for the trim number - 4 digit number starting with 7... Then, we can cross reference the dealers numbers with the ones we have. I see 4 different residuals for the Off Road - long bed, short bed, stick shift, automatic and one trim without any qualifiers.

I think the rebate is only valid if you purchase, not lease.
