    Correct - shorter term = higher residual

    Longer terms lease fairly well - 48/10 residual is 54%

    Hi! I need some help. On August 1 of 2018 I did a 4 year lease on a Wrangler Unlimited JL. $0 down, $276 per mo including taxes (60462 zip) with US Bank. The only option was auto trans (not stick shift). The other night, someone hit me and the car is now totaled. I went to the dealer and they said a 2019 with only the auto trans option is $440/ month with Ally. Btw, I lease another wrangler in July 2018 for $385/ mo with Ally. I can’t afford that. Plus, my credit score has dropped about 70 points since, so I don’t even know if I’ll qualify for a loan. They don’t even know bout that part yet. The other driver’s insurance company has accepted liability. But what about the loss of my favorable lease terms? Do I have any recourse for that? I have good loan history with US Bank, Ally, and Ford Motor Credit (I lease a fusion energi). Should I focus on those lenders to at least qualify for any sort of financing? Thank goodness I listened and never put $ down on a lease. Please help!!!

    Not sure what to tell you. Your credit is your credit, and the lease program is the lease program. Pretty much everything is more expensive now than in the past. We only have numbers for Chrysler Capital.

    You may have to look at options other than a Wrangler until your credit situation improves.

    Also, shop multiple dealers. You might get lucky.
