I was assuming the $42,000 was the Adjusted Cap cost.
Sales tax rate is 7.1%.

No, if only first payment Due at Signing, then you'd have to add fees and any other charges (upfront sales tax on rebates) to the sale price to get the adjusted CAP, then subtract the rebates.

To get that payment, the adjusted CAP would be approx $39,000. That implies $2000 of extra charges, on top of the sale price minus rebates. $350 tax on rebates, $795 acquisition fee.. that still leaves about $850 unaccounted for.
