Quadrunner, I lived in Denver for two years in the early 70's. We really enjoyed it, snow and all. Used to love going to the Y camp at Estes Park with the kids. A really great place to "rough it" in reasonable comfort.

Run your A/C in the winter whenever you can. The a/c temp does not need to be set to cold but can be set to a warm temp. Why? reason 1 is that is much better for all your a/c equipment to get a regular workout (things stay lubed, belts stay flexible). Reason 2 is if you live in a high humidity/rainy climate like here in Seattle, they make a great dehumidifier (a great reason to use it in the winter). The owner's manual in my Integra said so, and I've converted a few friends who were impressed at how quickly my windows defogged when switching the a/c on (again with the temp turned up).
I convinced my folks (who live in freezing/sweltering N. Dakota) to do this about 18 years ago and neither of us have had an a/c problem since.
LOL
- Tim
Maybe i should have gotten the rear defogger??? I wasnt even in my truck at the time i was in my room guys. But i will remember the tip
This is great entertainment how could i ever leave u guys???

The Californians took over. Should have remained part of the Louisiana purchase instead. Oh well...It's just one big Knots Landing now, houses dotting every bluff.
Also doesn't snow here any more. Global warming I guess.
Duh AIR IS AIR anyone need some??? Ill sell you sone i have a nice air compressor in my garage. Fill with summer air $5 a tire haha

Every time we walk pass a vehicle with towels covering the seats, floors, dash, he tells me that's like money in the bank...
Unless, of course, you had the dashcover or the upholstery cover made out of Superman's cape...but then you would have to have a carmine red truck to match the color of the cape...

What is the best window tint? 3M or something else? I need the dark tint for the driver and passenger side window. Thanks for your comments!
I am using freei.net(about 6 months now) and also have Juno and Winfire installed as backups. Between the 3 options I can always get hooked up, and they are free. If you have a few different household users, every user could have their own separate service with a different provider(there are more free services out there.) Just a thought.

Say it ain't so....

Finally I found a hole in the wall company...but they had local numbers!....then that got too slow..
Finally 2 weeks ago the system was ready for cable modems....Now THAT is the way for me man..
I'm connected at 1600kbps right now...

i'm getting sick of my aol too...just waiting (about a year or so) to get a house where i'll get a cable modem.

thanks so much for the do-it-yourself info. what a great site! also...you mentioned a "back-up" for your cable modem. why? have you had problems gaining access with yours? i've heard nothing but great things about cable modems and that, short of having a dsl line installed, they're king.

sorry this isn't silverado stuff...but i can technically defend my position as asking for advice that will assist me in guaranteeing access to edmunds...
kyle
BTW I have carmine, anyone know where I can get the superman cape?
-Jarvus
I saw that the latest Car and Driver Mag writeup of their long-term Silverado had a bed extender...anyone have any experience with the one they mentioned or have one they like...the name escapes me. Any special mounting concerns with the liner in...I take it you drill it into the bed....
we got a good rain storm here yesterday, so went out to play. got a good pic too. looks like a chevy commercial. check out this link and look at photo #1. man did we have some fun...

Has anyone seen the new Sunset Orange? The truck salesman didn't know if that was it or not. This color would make for a great promotional vehicle for Minute Maid, Sunkist, Crush,...
Side note: Anybody else out there feel they know more about these trucks than most of the salemen out there?
Oh guys guess what kinda car she wants a silver sebring convertible. Oh well guess i will have to live with that i know tim lives with a mustang haha

I have had great experience with Llumar brand of window tint. It is a metallic based tint. It should not "purple" or peel like many other cheap tint and has a lifetime warranty. You may find the links below helpful.

Orange,
The sunset orange is supposed to be a new color? I have seen 1 GMC on the raod and 1 Silverado that color. Being in Michigan I never know if it is production or a test vehicle?
I like it and will most likely get it next truck...provided a nice Interior can be had to go with it well in leather. Perhaps the Neutral?

Test your speed. Click it..wait a few..and it will send some files to your machine..and then evaluate how many fast you are at. Try it a few times for an average.

As far as fan speed goes, #3 seems best. Any slower than that, the compressor cycles on and off because there is not enough heat absorbed in the evaporator coil, and to prevent freeze-up the compressor cycles. So in other words your only using your compressor, let's say 75%. Using these low speeds just adds wear to the compressor electric clutch componet, since it is constantly going in and out. Speeds higher than #3 just bring in more outside air, (even on recirc.) thus making it harder to cool the truck. Again, if you live in a dry area, the higher speeds may not matter as much.
Using A/C in winter is not nessary. At outside temps below around 35, the A/C will not engage, due to a low pressure switch. It's that same switch that cycles the A/C when your fan switch is on #1 or 2. The A/C also runs whenever you have the discharge dial set anywhere past 12 o'clock position. i.e defrost area.(except in cold weather as described before. This is the case regardless if you have the A/C button pushed or not.
Hope this clears up any questions. btw, I just got back from a 7300mi vacation. Staring out in Chicago area to Las Vegas, Cal. desert..coastline, OR, WA, MT. and home again. In the Vegas area it was 114* The A/C was fine. I also had a 20mph headwind, and going 75-80mph. My engine ran at the same temp as in the winter here in Chicago. My gas milage started out at 13.5 (hwy). After I had about 6k mi on the truck it increased to 19.
THIS IS ONE FINE TRUCK!

jkania - Thanks for the clarification. I had a previous vehicle that the fan would blow-up when ran on high speeds. Hence, I have been shy of revving up the fan, but 3 seems to be about right. When did you do your first oil change?
