That's a pretty ugly lease. Why would you have a $7,000 trade-in on a leased car? My lease calculator indicates your monthly payment should be about $360 w/ KY tax included. Also your acquisition fee is incorrect it should be $595. Next time ask for feedback BEFORE you sign the lease.

The dealer requested the down payment because they have to bring the car in from out of state and they are allowing me to wait to trade in our paid off Escape a few days after we take ownership of the RDX. I'm surprising the wife for Christmas and can't really take away her car til then.

We generally advise against using trade equity to buy down the payment. That up front money would be lost if the new car was stolen or totaled, and it masks the true cost of the lease.

$7000 / 36 = $194/mo, which makes your "true" payment close to $700/mo.

I know the RDX doesn't lease all that well, but that's a hefty lease payment for a car that stickers under $50K. You could get a much nicer car for that amount.

Read back through the last 2-3 pages of this thread to compare what others have been able to negotiate.

It's nice they used their flex cash from Acura on your deal. But, they are basically keeping it for themselves, by giving you a puny discount.

Ask for another $20/mo off, with the same upfront.

Florida dealers typically have egregious dealer fees on every transaction. Find out the fees, before you negotiate the purchase price, and take them into account while negotiating that price.

The $595 acquisition fee is included in the Gross CAP. If you add up the numbers given, you'll see they come up $595 short.

With only $407 of tax, it appears you are getting Texas tax credits. That's good.

But, the dealer gets a $2525 incentive from Acura, yet they are only discounting the vehicle by $3122. Effectively, only $700 off MSRP. That's bad.

More bad news: If I assume .00225 MF and 60% residual, calculated payment is $471/mo, with just first payment due at signing. That's substantially higher than their payment quote. I can only guess that they've marked up the money factor.

This is most definitely not a good deal.

The incentive is Acura-to-dealer. By definition, it's included in any sale price quoted.

Given the $2525 incentive, $4000-$4500 off MSRP, at the minimum. Plus, verify the money factor.

It's great that you are getting tax credits, but they come from Acura Finance. No point in the dealer taking advantage of, and effectively stealing them.

At first glance, those payments look too high, with that much money upfront.

If I subtract the incentive from the selling price, I get $418/mo plus tax for 36/10. Fairly close, but if you can get a copy of the lease worksheet, that would help.
