They quote big down payments, so they can quote a lower monthly payment. You can structure a lease however you like. Of course, a lower down payment will result in a higher monthly payment, all else being equal.

I didn't realize how popular this car was where dealers can ask for more than sticker. I've never actually seen that before. I tried to negotiate but the dealer politely declined any attempt to reduce price. Guessing times are good enough where buyers can be found for a selling price over sticker.

Wow.

Inventory is tight for lots of makes and models, so customers are on the wrong end of the negotiation. And, LR dealers in particular are bad about discounting to begin with, so I guess they are using this situation to ask above sticker.

Lots of cars are selling above sticker price - the Kia Telluride is a recent example.

Rent Charge is the lease term for interest on the money you borrow to fund the lease.

My advice? Stop shopping for a Land Rover, and start looking at other brands.

Market Value is just another way of saying MSRP.
So, I'll guess no discount.

$5000 probably isn't enough to cover sales tax, first payment, acquisition fee, dealer fees and DMV.

$1159 1st payment
$895 acquisition fee
$800 dealer fee (est)
$300 DMV
approx $6500 total.

Even rolling over the $1500 to the CAP, the payment seems too high.

To get to $1159, your adjusted CAP cost would have to be $82,500

Ask them for the adjusted CAP cost, and how the amounts they added to get to it.

LR dealers are seemingly allergic to discounts, based on reports from other members.

This is true for all models.

If the dealer is unwilling to be transparent with the numbers, find another dealer.

Better yet, find another brand.
