After doing some research on the 2020 Outback Touring XT. I am finding that the best deals are at dealerships in Massachusetts. Im finding 2020 Touring XT with MSRP of $41,640 selling at a $5,500 +/- discount. I would think that Outback Touring XT would be more popular in Massachusetts than Colorado. Any idea why I can't even get a dealer to come close to that figure in Colorado?

Did something fundamentally change with Subaru and their residual values?

We have a 2017 Outback Limited with the standard 36/12, our monthly payment with roughly $1000 down is somewhere around $330. Looking at the new Outbacks and the monthly payment is going to be easily $100 more per month.

Only thing that I can really identify is that residuals used to be around 65%, now they are 58%. Just curious if anyone has insight into what caused this to occur. Has Subaru just gained that much popularity that they are able to have the customers pay that additional depreciation down?

Probably don’t need Subaru financing. Will purchase this month or December. Any help and information would be great. Are there holdbacks? How much off can I expect to get?

at least by me, the supply of 2019s is very thin. If you can find one, can probably get a really good deal. Just can't be too picky (about colors, etc.). And definitely want to compare the new vs. old style, to make sure there isn't anything about the new one that would make you regret buying the old one. At least they look quite similar, so the difference is the interior (dash and tech). Unless you want the big motor, which goes from the H6 to a turbo 4.

No insight as to why or how. But, your last lease was really, really cheap, and now they are closer to reality, I think.

I would definitely get out and find a leftover 2019. The 2020s are a new design, and will be substantially more expensive.

Which is a way for the dealer to protect themselves. Better to come down from a high MF than to have to tell the potential customer the MF will be marked up due to their credit score.

When you get serious, you'll likely get the base MF
