I wonder if it was synthetic?
Just taken from Google AI,
A full synthetic oil change in Canada typically costs between $80 and $120, with a wider range of $66 to $137. Conventional oil changes average around $60, with a range of $42 to $73. Local factors, like the specific oil brand used and the service location.
So @ab348 paid a little bit on the higher side, but it is a Cadillac.

Sun is not your friend to composite headlights and trim. This is on my SIL's RDX that she bought new. It is washed frequently and waxed. The paint has held up fine. It is either an 18 or 19 Advance trim.
Unfortunately she does not have a garage at her apartment.
Those look like scratches from a drive through car wash.

How do you misdiagnose a throttle body with timing chains? I hope you took that shop off your list.🥲
I had a mechanic friend, who use to work at that Ford dealership, call the service manager he knew to ask about the car. S.M said codes showed timing and other issues. Friend said they needed to do proper diagnostics. At that time it did have other codes. Can't remember what they were. But they didn't show up again after I put in a new throttle body.
And yeah, that dealership is off my list. I usually take it to an independent shop now. But, now the cooling fan keeps running (at x's) when the engine is cut off, after running short distance in cool weather. Coolant and everything looks good. So may just throw a fan control module on it.

Yes. The 2010 Mercury Milan was that car. They said it had major timing issues.
All it needed was a throttle body. Engine has been fine since that diagnosis....100,000 miles ago.

You might want to check the AC thermal expansion valve. I had the same symptoms on my Ford truck. Evidently it’s a known failure point. Usually you see very high, high side pressure in the AC lines. The pressure sensor could be bad as well.
I made an appointment for a 6-month service on the Caddy the other day. Business must be good as the dealer is booking about a month out. Oil/filter change is $109 in worthless Canadian dollars which seems fair. I wanted them to do the annual once-over of a bunch of things which is another $100. The lady booking me in tried upselling me on lots of other things like sludge removal treatment, decarbonizing the valves, and brake caliper lube which I declined. I did go for a brake fluid change which had never been done.
$109 (CDN) oil change is a bargain.

When I told the Ford dealership I did not want a new or rebuilt engine, I went into the dealership to pick up the car and pay for the diagnostics. On the sales receipt, to my surprise as it had not been mentioned before, it said I needed a new throttle body. This was a part already recalled by Ford and already replaced once by prior owner. Symptoms of a bad Mercury Milan electronic throttle body matched the symptoms the car was showing. So I took a chance, a couple hundreds bucks, and replaced it myself.

Sometimes dealers aren’t the bad guy. Two indie mechanics told me my son’s 2010 Fusion (same as Jipster’s Milan) had a very small oil leak in one head gasket. Not something you could ignore. Neither did head work so I took it to the Ford dealer who correctly diagnosed it as a leak in the timing chain cover near the head at a known weak spot where there was no gasket, only silicone sealer.
While it was there they did the airbag recall which I was unaware of.

This would really disappoint me if I bought a MB for their reputation of quality and have the upholstery split at the seam. I've seen this on multiple late model C sedans with less than 70k.
I have seen older Mercedes with seats in perfect condition. But seats can wear out like that for several reasons including lots of rivets in his jeans, a thick wallet, a hard [non-permissible content removed]. Mine got warn a bit from sweat from playing tennis and pickleball....now I have a cover over the driver's seat that blends in pretty well.

I’ve never had an argument at a charger. Actually everyone is usually friendly.
My experience too. I don’t see PHEV’s at public chargers because most of them aren’t designed to charge at DC fast chargers, and the level 1 or 2 chargers they use are too slow for EVs unless you’re charging at home.

Didn't think of that... the whole point of the PHEV is not having to stop at public chargers (unless you are staying overnight, somewhere)

A duck on your jeep means that someone likes your jeep. It’s a compliment. Worse things have happened
my theory on used cars at a dealer (and dealership prices) is they are expected to need absolutely nothing and be fully reconditioned like that.

Now that’s a different kinda duck. You should be allowed to handle chain-yanking as you see fit.

Saw that yesterday on YouTube.
Unless it also comes with something like a 10/120,000 extended warranty on the engine not a very good looking move by GM

I just give mine to my daughter. She loves them and always sends a pic of new ones put on her jeep.
When viewing a commercial this morning, a random thought, occurred to me. Are there ever any arguments over public charging points when someone has a plug-in hybrid versus someone who has full electric?

I’ve never had an argument at a charger. Actually everyone is usually friendly.

Kinda like at gas stations. I’ve never seen any arguments there either.

My fellow Jeeping friend has 3 Wranglers in his family- he drives a Rubicon TJ, his wife has a Rubicon 4xe, and his daughter has a JK. I may have mentioned that he refuses to wave at Wranglers with either a dash full of ducks or an "angry" grille. I might sneak over to his house and leave it on his.

Never seen an arguement at a gas station? Not even during those gas crisis times in the 70's?

C’mon now. Friends don’t do that to friends. You only do that to strangers otherwise it doesn’t count.

Older than me and I remember those days!

Today’s “I’m really too old for this nonsense” project. To make the wife happy.

And yes I know the rebar has to be pounded in. Not doing that until she swears it does not have to move. Then the real fun. Moving all the dirt from the driveway on the other side of the house. That won’t be fun. And I think I ordered double what I need so I will have to move the extra someplace else!

Just remember when you go to export that crop the receiving country is going to slam you with a hefty tariff.

We are exporting it to my wife’s large collection of bell jars.
Doing the math, after buying the materials and dirt, and new lids, it should average out to about $10 per tomato or cucumber. assuming we get any because not sure she can do much with the garden due to bad knees. I have zero desire to screw around weeding but I’m sure I will get sucked into doing it anyway.
