Nice costume. I think you would have made a pretty good Captain Featherhook. ;-)

Oh, wait I think I have it...would it be Arrrr? ;-)

Cheers Pat.
Captain Feathersword, indeed. In fact that's who I was tonight, with my daughter. Had to be the friendly pirate with her. ;-)
Happy Halloween!

Steve: Great news. Can't wait to hear all about the new little fibber!
Serge: I'm sure Susan's surgery and recovery will go perfectly -- you guys are in my thoughts and prayers.
For a while, I really thought that Captain Feathersword was Mel Gibson undercover! They bear a striking resemblance. My 2 year old is still a big Wiggles fan, but my 5 year old loves Rugrats and Rocket Power.
Unfortunately I missed the chat this week. I was actually home for it, but I was so tired I fell asleep before it started!
Jon
P.S. My 2 year old just walked up to me with walkman headphones on his head and the other end of the wire in his mouth, looked me straight in the eye and in his most deadpan voice says, "time for the doctor!" Hilarious....
Other neighbors got truly serious... had the adult party in their motorhome, carted the kids around from block to block & had a warming shack on wheels to boot!
Steve: It's all falling into place... must be meant to be!
Serge & Susan: Add my prayers & best wishes to everyone elses. The power of prayer & positive thinking is vastly underrated.
Cheers!
Paul
Cheers Pat.

Pat: awesome! Hope you didn't run out!
Cool, so the guy that sold *both* Subarus that are registered in Texas is now a member of our Crew! Welcome! :-)
And to let you in on an inside joke, we often talk about demographics, one of them being there seems to be lots of Daves, Mikes, Steves, and otherwise lots of names with a K, including yours. So I have a feeling you'll fit right in.
-juice
Thanks to the WRX and Lance, they do now, though!
Thing is folks, anyone selling cars in TX has it rough. For those of you on the east coast, take a look at the number of, oh, say VWs and Subarus you see on the road as compared to SUVs (not even counting the RAV-4, CR-Vor Forester). Reverse the proportion= TX.
Serge & Susan - as everyone said, we are all pulling for you guys. Anything less than 100% success is totally unacceptable!
Emily was a Princess, complete with a blond wig! It looked great. Asian features, jet black hair sticking out from under golden long locks. We hit some nice neighborhoods and scored some good candy. But with where we live, not a soul came near.
We are still lost in limboland. After all the hype, no confirmation as to whether the US Consulate appt is set, so no travel plans. Maybe we will get news tomorrow....
Steve
2) Ever have a strong premonition, and pay the price for ignoring it? Friday night - rushing to get home for Halloween. Needed something for the flight Saturday morning, so hit Wal-Mart. Spot right by the door, but a gamey looking pickup truck is poorly parked in the next stall. Better judgment said pass, but took it anyhow. Sure enough, my basically virginal OB paid the price. 6" long corner of the bumper damage! Paint scraped right off (3") by those rusty chrome bumpers. Something to deal with when I return....
3) Brazil - one strange but funny/sad movie!
Steve
People still manage to ding me. It's like their trying to!
Had a fun day at Summit Point yesterday, watching paisan hit the track, and checking out the cool cars. It's quite a car culture; I felt like I was at home with like minds. 100% different than the 1/4 mile dragster crowd.
I'll give the full report later today, I'm trying to get a photo up.

We went to see Lost In Translation last night. I don't think it was quite as bad as you thought, but parts of it dragged horribly. They could have cut a lot of the scenes of the female lead staring out the hotel window. I actually felt like I could relate to parts of the movie, at least when it comes to long-distance business travel and the sense of isolation it brings.
Ed
Either that or it reminds me what it's like to be bored, therefore it is boring.
Those parts that dragged on almost made my wife walk out!

That poor Porsche driver never knew what hit him. This is why AWD was banned from BTCC, for being an unfair advantage.
Now for the whole story:
Solo II/III class heads out on the pace lap, the Subaru Crew (juice and Bob H.) made it out to support paisan and his "Franken L" race car. With a pavement scorching 137hp and a bone-stock powertrain saddled to an automatic, and only AWD and driver skill to compensate, Mike start in 5th position out of 32. Adrenaline is pumping, you can feel it. You can smell it in the fumes.
2nd lap, you can hear Franken L coming, with the straight pipe wailing it was the 2nd loudest car of the group. Mike has moved up to 4th position, passing a slower Porsche 911 (LOL).
3rd lap, we see the leader, 2nd, 3rd car, WHERE IS MIKE?!
Was he black flagged? Ran out of gas? Where AWD vehicles assessed a stop-go penalty because of their advantage? Could a Subie with a mere 144k miles be unreliable?
Of course not. paisan pitted to adjust his seat! Lost several positions, too, re-joined the group in 9th position.
As I watch, I do the match in my head - paisan has approximately 2400 horsepower in front of him. To his 137. Unfair.
To those in front of him, that is. Franken L comes scorching around the corner, with little roll and a flat stance, and at speeds that saw a Camaro with a live axle spinning off the circuit. All wheels are gripping around the corners, while lesser cars with 2WD ease off to avoid spinning off the hairpin in front of us.
We watch as the little Subie that could gains a position or two each lap. He's in 6th now, then 5th, 3rd! By the end of the 25 minute sessions, he's in 2nd, even after the pit stop!
The field of cars includes a pair of STis, a couple of EVOs, several Vettes and pony cars, an RX7, and a BMW M coupe. They never knew what him 'em. ;-)

PS Note that the writer took "slight" literary freedom in the production of this story
-Dennis
So when do we get to hear the driver's version of the story?
Craig
-juice
Although there are positions, it wasn't a "race" per say. I did have a blast passing the porsche, at least 3 mustangs (SVT, GT, Regular), 2 vettes, and several other cars
The L rocks! Can't wait to put in the WRX turbo and IC and injectors and Boost controller and paint the car, or maybe we won't paint it
Pics are up at http://TeamIAC.com
Thanks for coming out guys!!! With the 3rd circuit being built at SPR, we will likely be down there a lot next spring and summer. And the L is always available if you want to do an event!
Thanks also to our sponsor http://Race-Sport.net for letting us use the infared lap timer and provinding brakes and other equipement for us!

Steve, Host
Right now I gotta earn back some "Honey-Do" points with the wife, who took care of both kids while getting over a flu!
that's gonna cost ya, juice!

We'll be at summit alot next season so it should be easy.

paisan: Your website (AZP) is starting to come together, getting better by the day.
You realize that when you install the 2.2T you'll either need an FMIC (sleeper look!) or a hood with an intake. With your current front clip you'll be looking for a hood from an older WRX.
Speaking of 2.2Ts, I saw a decent looking first-gen Legacy turbo for sale in Washington, NJ yesterday. Might be worth a look for someone interested.
Ed
Still, Friday the nanny leaves at noon, so I'd still have to earn half of the points...
Clearance Sale! 50% off! LOL
-juice
PS Mike has an RS hood, if anyone finds the vents and scoops let him know!
We are actually not putting in a 2.2T, we are going to turbo the current motor. Amazingly the motor is still tight at 155K miles doesn't burn a stitch of oil. This past weekend it did double duty amounting to 6hrs of on-track use at or near WOT the whole time. She didn't burn any oil, overheat, or otherwise falter lap after lap after lap.

Looks like you've discovered Fry's. Did you know that they originally started out as a grocery store -- that's why they still have a food isle among the vast electronics. Actually, the food isle works great -- lots of junk food for those programmers.
See you on Wed!
