Thanks for the info. I talked to Bob Baker toyota, but they said the $19995 price is Not for brand new vehicles. These vehicles will have some mileage and they are not exactly brand new.

Right now the deal that I have got is $22,000 (thatz about $1K less than Invoice price) for the CE with Pkg #1 option. I am wondering whether I should take this deal or not. Please advise.

Please let me know if anybody else have gotten a better deal in the Southern California region. I would appreciate any information in this regard.

    Thanks.

I think it is pretty good, about $600 lower than the quote I got. Can you tell me which dealer gave the quote? Thanks!

    Hello all,

I am going to accept the offer from Longo Toyota for $22K, since I haven't gotten any better deals from other dealers here in Southern California. If anyone has found a better deal, please let me know asap.

    Thanks.

    Hi,
I got a quote of $25,800 for LE AWD standard option and 22,900 for LW FWD stand option in MA. The price is after rebate and before tax. Are they good? How much space I can shoot on?
    Many Thanks.

    Hi everybody,

I know some of you might have had shopped around for the CE Pkg#1 option. If so, can you please help me decide!!! I am planning to go for the Sienna CE with the pkg#1 option and the best quote that I have got so far is for 22K from Longo Toyota in Southern Cali.

Please advise if this is a good deal? Will it be a worth while effort to bargain for a better price than the above? Please advise!!!

    Thanks.

    Hello pgrunner,

Can you please let me know where did you get this deal ? Dealer Name?

I am actually looking for the exact same configuration. Will really appreciate your inputs.

Also, did you actually buy the Minivan with the above deal? Are you still shopping around? If so, have you got any better deals? Please share your thoughts.

    Thanks.

Yes thats good price. Your better of getting an honda tho. Honda Odessey You can get a fully loaded with navigation and dvdplayer for 28000. for a 07 model. Less Transmission problems
  • hause7hause7 Member Posts: 153
i would have to disagree. Look at the odyssey forums, they have a lot of tranny problems. I didn't really notice tell both my neighbors Odyssey's had tranny problems, their 04 and 06.

on a side note, their are no more 07 Odyssey's in my area.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Sorry but there is just no way the Odyssey has fewer transmission problems than the Sienna.

Sienna wins on that score by a wide margin.

Look at CR scores for transmission:

Sienna is better than average every year, much better than average for most years actually.

Odyssey gets black dots for 01 and 02, half a black dot in 03. Recent scores are OK but let's see if they hold up.

If the Hondas hold up we can call it a draw, but the ones that score well are still only 3 years old, that's not much data to judge by. Sienna has scored consistently well all along.

Don't know if you still need this info. We bought this van from the Carlsbad Toyota dealer in San Diego. They were great, no hassle.

Hi Michelle! Congratulations on your purchase! I think you did great. I've been given a quote for around the same price but for EVP#3 only. I live in socal also and would appreciate if you can give me more info on your dealer/agent. Thanks!!! :) tom

Opted for the light blue with grey interior, has the power drivers seat and passenger power door, 8 passenger version. Bought it at Car-Max of Laurel and was completely blown away by the pricing.

We originally looked at the used carmax Sienna's and lets just say my wife was spoiled by our earlier test drive at another Toyata dealership, and wasnt going to settle for a used one, so we walked next door to the CarMax New Toyota dealership and noticed the price difference between a 2007 used and a brand new 2008 was only around $3000. Sticker price was $24234 and had only 3 miles on it when we drove it away.

Greta experience and awesome price, total out the door came to around $27000 (taxes tags and title as well as $1000 we were negative from our gas guzzler we traded in for it) and toyota's incentive choices made it even easier opted for the 0% for 48 months. :shades:

    Hi Michelle,

Please email me the dealer and the sale person that you got a great deal on your Sienna. I cannot find your email account on your profile. I also live in San Diego and my wife is hunting for a Sienna XLE. Thanks in advance.
  • gatorsfgatorsf Member Posts: 22
    FYI for the group,

Yesterday we bought a Sienna Limited XLE with EVP#2, powerfold seats, day time runners, and Toyo Guard plus for $38,500 out the door. They also paid off my wife's lease on her accord (approx, $1,200).

    Bottom line $37,300 OTD.

    South-Central Florida purchase

I just got my 2008 SIenna LE, Desert Sand (Beautiful!). I traded my 2000 Sienna LE (got $2000!) and she had 181K miles! I LOVE MY SIENNA. I couldn't be happier. The price I got was very reasonable. It is the standard (FWD) with the Package #1 additional (1 power door, and 1 power seat). The experience was terrific. Did any take the 100,000 /7yr warrantee???
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Not yet, but we can wait until just before the end of the 3/36 warranty to decide.
  • melrosemelrose Member Posts: 6
Just took delivery of our new Limited w/ EVP#2, power 3rd row, daytime running lights, and XM radio installed. Out the door price $36,280.00. I completed the purchase over the Internet and with an occasional phone call. Ended up going w/Serra Toyota and it was very easy. They even delivered the vehicle to our home. I would never have even seen the dealership except I had to go pick up the manual and key fobs that the salesman forgot. Overall, the easiest car purchase I've ever made.
  • temtexdenttemtexdent Member Posts: 2
Sounds good. Do you know what the MSRP was on that vehicle? Thanks.
  • melrosemelrose Member Posts: 6
The sticker was $39,041 (before tax, title, etc.) plus the XM radio. I think MSRP on the XM is $499.00 + tax, but I don't know if that includes installation.
  • eikxeikx Member Posts: 1
Thanks to Carspace and all of you. I finally got my LE7 with FE AL QF RL CF for $24188 before rebate, $25623 out-the-door. Hayward toyota matched the quote I got from City Toyota, Daly City, and found the silver one that I was looking for.

Just got my Sienna the past weekend. The car has FE QF CF. Paid $24100 for the car, out of door price is $26105. Personally I think the price is OK but not great. Well, I was too busy to look more into the detail and in need of the car urgently...
  • sashi_kanthsashi_kanth Member Posts: 3
Hi, I'm not sure what kind of deal this one is.

Somebody is selling the top of the line Sienna, details as under:

    - 2006 XLE Limited AWD
    - Navigation system
    - DVD Entertainment System
    - Rear View Camera
    - Premium sound (AM/FM/CD Changer Audio System)
    - Vehicle sensors
    - 5 yr / 100k warranty ($1800)
    - GAP insurance ($800)
    - On road price close to 44k
    - 0% APR for 60 months from Toyota Finance
    - 17k miles on it right now
    - Single owner, bought in Nov '06

Current owner already paid 14 installments of $732. So, 46 installments of $732 amounting to $33672 are remaining. The deal is for me to take over the remaining installments and not pay anything to the owner. I seem to have too many questions and appreciate your answers here:

    1) Is this a good deal? Vehicle is bought in Nov '06 but this is still an '06 model, not '07 model. Edmunds "clean" price is exactly 29k (but this doesn't include the extended warranty and GAP insurance)

    2) I've a 700+ credit score, can I be sure to qualify to take over the remaining installments from Toyota Finance? Is there a catch here somewhere? I don't want to let somebody run a credit check if there are going to be issues.

    3) Do I need to pay tax to the DMV (8.75% here in CA) for the remaining amount of $33672 if I decide to buy this vehicle?

    4) Does this model play MP3 CDs?

Appreciate your responses on this one. Thank you very much.
  • yatesjoyatesjo Member Posts: 186
You should do your own due diligence, but if it takes 46 installments of $732 to pay off a vehicle worth $29k you are paying more than 8% interest. That sounds like a lousy deal to me. In reality, he is upside down on the van but wants you to take it as though it is even. Better to go for a clean transaction where you both agree on a price, he pays off his loan and you get your own financing.
  • kyfdxkyfdx Moderator Posts: 263,132
    Ditto that..

Of course, he probably can't come up with the negative equity he has in the vehicle.. so, he won't be able to do the deal, anyway..

In general, auto loans aren't assumable, anyway.. They aren't like leases..

Signed off on the following deal at Bernardi Toyota, Framingham, MA

2008 Sienna XLE Limited with AWD and following options:

(all $s on list below are MSRP)
    XLE Limited AWD ($37,665)

    FE - 50 State Emission ($0)
GV - XLE Limited Base Combo package ($0)
HZ - Cruise Control & HID Headlamps ($1,115)
QL - XLE Limited Extra Value Package #2 ($1,980)
RM - Daytime Running Lights ($40)
TO - Tow Prep Package ($220)
CF - Carpet Floor Mats/Door Sill Protectors ($220)

    MSRP total: $41919.00
Invoice total: $37258 (assumes $170 invoice for CF - Edmunds does not list this)
Edmunds TMV $38,717 (assumes $174 for CF here)

    Paid: $36,995
(no $1,500 rebate applied as I used the 36 months 0% finance option)

Plus $300 doc fee and Sales Tax, Registration etc.

Pretty decent deal - though I might have left some $s on the table - specially on the trade.

Here is rest of details for interested parties:

    1) Started my Sienna search by asking for quotes from toyota.com -> request was sent to Acton Toyota dealerhip - who quickly responded by with qoutes for LE, XLE and Limited models. All quotes couple of 100$s below invoice (not counting the rebate). The best prices received. Deal fell thru due to low trade offer (was trading in
Honda Odyssey). Internet dept and dealership staff quite friendly and helpful - but wont budge on trade.

    2) Used Yahoo Autos to get more offers from Toyota of Nashua, Woburn Foreign Motors and Bernardi Toyota.

    3) Offers from Woburn - very competetive - $100 off Acton Toyota. Very good email communications.

    4) Initial offer from Toyota of Nashua not as good. But person on email offered to work if serious and would visit delaership.

    5) Bernardi email offer 100 to 200$s off Acton, but tried this dealership - thinking they might offer better trade on Honda (since they have a sister Honda dealership)

    6) Once into Bernardi - was turned over to regular floor staff (different from Acton where I dealt with a different Internet staff). Usual haggling over trade in and additional cost to get vehicle off another lot. They matched the Acton Toyota quote and gave a much improved trade-in allowance.

    7) Concluded the deal with Bernardi and used promitional financings instead of $1500 rebate.

    Final observations:
Both Bernardi and Woburn seems to be more eager to get the deal including offering to get vehicles not on their lot (from other local dealers).

Person from Ira Toyota (contacted directly via dealers website), had me visit the dealership implying they had stock, but did not have any. Manager indicated he'd be able to get stock from other Ira locations - but when contacted via phone and provided the email quotes from other dealers- suggested I take them and not waste my time.

Sienna seems to be nice to ride. I needed an AWD model due to snow issues. But acquisition cost high due to option packages offered. Ended up taking top of the line to get most value for $s paid (after factoring in what we really needed). Honda has a much simpler packaging.

Will try to monitor this page for any questions next couple of days.

    Happy shopping.....

Did you purchase the extended warranty from Bernardi? I was searching the internet for prices on warranties and it seems they offer them for the lowest price.

    Great deal, aisa!!

I paid $600 more + $100 more on the doc fee at my dealership, and I thought I got a really good deal. (no trade-in).

Check out my post under the tires section (and link) re: higher pressure to increase the longevity of your RFTs.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
You can get a loaded AWD model for probably $38k, in fact it shouldn't be hard at all.

    Start here: http://fitzmall.com/

Do a Search for Sienna. You can sort by price, go to the last page to find the loaded up ones.

In a nutshell, the EVP #1 adds the DVD and the power outlets, and the #2 adds GPS NAV and a backup screen. So a Limited with packages 1 and 2 is basically fully loaded.

I think you can get all that under $40k easily, even including MD's 6% tax.

Cross-shop with 355Toyota.com (DARCARS in Rockville) and CarMax Toyota in Laurel. Even Jim Coleman next to Montgomery Mall has a Toyota store with prices up on their web site, just read the fine print for each.

I did a quick search - Fitz has LTD #1s for under $34k, LTD #2s for under $35k. But they do not have any FWD in stock with both packages 1 and 2.

Get the package 2 and just get an aftermarket DVD player. I got a 12" screen for $900 at Circuit City. OE is 9".
  • vividjenvividjen Member Posts: 11
Thanks for your reply. It is very helpful.
I will look in MD and VA....maybe tax will play a part.
Would you mind telling me what the OE is? Is it the installed model?
    Thanks again for your work!
  • vividjenvividjen Member Posts: 11
    Hi All-
For some reason I am just not getting the marketing material and CR site's description of the packages. I have decided to buy either a LTD or one step down version of the Sienna in the DC metro area. I have an outside total limit of 40k.
Could someone please direct me to a clear explanation of the packages or explain them to me??
    Thank you!
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Yes, OE = Original Equipment, from Toyota.

You pay twice as much for a smaller screen. It is integrated, though.

You may not be able to get a moonroof with the DVD player, that may be why I didn't find a model with both (not sure, though). Does anyone know for sure?
