I paid 17160 or so (w/ Dest) + Tax + License in July of 05 for the same car, when 06s were not yet available. I'm in Chicago, location matters. You might do better I think because couple of days ago somebody in this thread bought an 06 LX SE(!) for a very good price in Wisconsin (check the threads).
In September 2005, just as the 2006 was coming on the lots, I purchased the same vehicle in metallic mist for $16,850 plus $200 doc fees and 5% sales tax (Massachusetts). This brought it to slightly less than $18k out the door. My experience is that when there are only a couple of last years model let the price may not hold up. You are probably getting an O.K deal but why not negotiate for an 06?

Invoice on the 06 EX 4cyl. AT is $21,458. Most prices quoted to me were about $300-400 below invoice. FYI, dealers are getting 3% holdback off MSRP on this car. Got the same base car with mud flaps and wheel locks for $21,300 pluse dealer fee & TTL. Figure trunk tray in ~$90 (bought mine at dealership parts dept. the next day)

I also question the mention of a 100,000 mile extended warranty being included in that same deal. Clearly, based upon the overall $23,000 price, the warranty cannot be Honda Care branded.
The dealer doesn't have a car with color I wanted. He told me if I deposit $100, then I can get the car next week so I do. But now another dealer is trying to beat this price. Is this deposit refundible anytime? (I'm new to US auto market)

Please let me know if this is with Leather coming from Honda factory i.e. the EX-L model and AT ? Is this new or used ?
The price seems to be unbelievably low as the lowest I have seen so far for EXL on this forum is 22500 and am so thinking that may be its just the normal EX and not EXL( I already saw that you specified EXL but wanted to make sure)
The lowest price reported on this forum for an EXL was by Rickster. Search for the phrase 'Phila' and that will bring up a message which is a reply to Rickster's message by Sepa I believe.
For good interest rate, try costco.com and you should get a 5year loan thru capitalone for as low as 5.44% if you take executive membership initially.... Of course, you can downgrade it later...
Hi, The posts here already say that Seattle dealers dont go below invoice, and thats been my experience. On the above car, everyone's quoted me $400-500 above invoice. Moreover, I wasnt aware of the dealer holdback of 3%.
Because it seemed that the Bay area had good deals ( $1000-1200 cheaper than Seattle), I want to explore the option of going there. So I called a dealer in Palo Alto and he said there were 2 issues with the model above: a) because they are selling so hot, this model will cost approx. $1000 above invoice. He did say there are other models ( LX and EX) that are below invoice. b)that the pzev models cannot be taken out of state.
I havent heard anyone else mention the latter in the boards. Is that accurate?

The dealer is Bay Ridge Honda in Brooklyn. The price did include destination because they said that the MSRP was $29,850. The only other things to add - NYC tax and DMV. I have also gotten quotes of $26,065 from both Open Road Honda and Planet Honda in New Jersey. I might just stay close to home for the $250 or see if they'll match the price.
Why would you suspect that "Just very few Accords out there!" According to all the recent newspaper reports, the Accords haven't been selling all that well. They dropped about 16,000 vehicles from 2004 to 2005. The 2006's are basically just 2003's through 2005's with tweaked taillights. Do you think that Honda has just cut back on production in favor of one of their SUV lines?
I'm not surprised sales are slowing now as people wait on the sidelines to see the redesigned Camry in person before making a purchase decision. The new Camry will be fresh and new and have some features the Accord lacks, so the Accord will have to sell based mostly on price and discounting since the new Camry will not be discounted much for months after it's debut.
I agree with you. Actually since the accords are not {at least the exl} being all that much discounted I decided not to buy. Im now more interested in the camry. Im sure honda will need to start incentives on other models when the camry gets closer to being available.

Toyota wants to sell 500K Camrys yearly, so the Camry will likely be discounted within a few months when the factories are finally running at full speed and the Accord will still be the old design until fall or winter 2007. Unless Honda wants to just cut production and lose market share instead, even more severe discounting of the Accord will be needed next year to compete against the then discounted new Camry.

Toyota will not be getting the nod from this sailor;they no longer offer a V-6 with a clutch....(had a Supra once).
I can't speak for other parts of the country but we are selling Accords as quickly as we get them in. Right now, I have deposits on two that are in transit.
There were more changes than you mention. They have more low end torque and somehow, they made them quietier.
Priced at $23,205 (add $75 for tags to transport home from Washington state to Montana). Just hope when I get to the dealership, everything goes smoothly.

I can't even find any certified pre-owned Honda Accord coupe EX V6 6MT's in Sapphire Blue Pearl in Washington. I guess this just forces me to be patient, on the plus side, it just means I'll have more money saved up when I do find one.

Well, it's because there aren't any. I did a "locate" and there are none of these in WA or OR. There are none scheduled to be built in the near future either.
Here's why...
Coupes don't appeal to the masses like the sedans do. We probably sell one out of 20 Accords as coupes.
Then, it's a manual transmission. Very hard to sell these both as new and used cars. Most people don't want them.
And, lastly, it's Sapphire Blue. One of the least popular colors on Accords.
So, IF a dealer is going to order a six speed V-6 coupe, they will probably pick the most popular colors. Silver or black. There are some of those out there. Not many, though.
I just closed the deal on an '06 Accord Sedan EX-L, I-4, AT, w/o navigation, w/ splash guards,wheel locks incl destination for $23,087 before taxes, tags and processing fee. Dealer also included at no cost a 6 yr,100k extended warranty for powertrain only. This was in Washington, DC metro area.

Only got a "decent" deal (New Orleans area..Post Katrina..etc.) of $23050 ($750 off sticker)..other dealer in town only knocking off $100) Also made deal to get 17" "V6" wheels/tires at cost (~$1600) and would put the 16" alloys/tires on recently purchased DX VP.
Here's where it gets interesting...dealer promised car by 10:00am Saturday. got there about 9:20am and noticed the car that I had "Picked out" was still sitting unprepped. I asked sales person and he said that they had 2. I then go to the back and see them prepping 2 cars...Graphite V6 and Graphite 4 with Leather. The guy prepping says the 4-cyl with Leather is mine. I go up front, sign papers, then they pull the 4-cyl with Leather around and sales person shows me everything. At this point, I think that maybe I had picked the EX-L by mistake and that the price wasn't that bad. I'm about ready to drive off, when the sales guy says.."We've got a problem...this car is leather and the one you bought is not..It will cost more..about the amount of the wheels/tires coming in" I say "Gotta go, running late, will call you Monday (tomorrow)"
What should I do? I'm considering pushing for a deal on the Leather (keeping the car I drove off with) ot otherwise, turning the Leather in and getting one one I originally bought. They could take a much smaller profit and let me keep the leather with no more money or take this car back with ~350 miles and give me the other...they would take a hit on the 350 miles though... HELP!!!

I'm considering a 2006 Accord EX-V6 purchase from a new Honda dealer that opened their doors last week in Grand Rapids, Michigan. They are convenient and will be my location for any future service work. Their initial internet price is $25300 (includes destination fee). I know they want to make deals to establish customers, but do you think Honda gives the dealer special breaks for establishing a new dealership? Any insight on making this deal will be greatly appreciated.

I got an internet offer of 22,288 (inc desination)for a 2006 honda accord EX-L from the same dealer Cambridge Honda in MA from whom I had gotten a price of 22,708 including destination fees, and put down a deposit. I got the lower offer the next day in my email acct.
When I called dealer re:the internet offer, they were very unprofessional and rude and would not honor the internet quote....has this happened to anyone else and how did you deal with it? needless to say the order was cancelled.
i plan on following thru to attorney general, consumer affairs, etc etc any suggestions? thx
I am curious how you/they handle this... Just my 2 cents - the paperwork should tell the story...meaning that if the VIN number of the car you have now matches the title/registration paperwork you and they signed...and/or the loan documentation - legally, you might have justification that this is your car and the one you agreed to buy....(not sure if there is something that protects the dealer on this type of mistake or not)..if the VIN isn't a match - then you do have the wrong car - options as you mention include return/purchase the extra. Of course, being the "good guy" might be the best approach as you were not expecting the EX-L - but just the EX.....either way sounds like you might have some options!!
