I have been doing the same hunting for a 4runner. There are dozens of 05's on the lot dealer lots but everyone is giving the same price about 400 under toyota invoice or about 4k under MSRP. No one is really breaking the bank.
I have been waiting for my Tacoma D-Cab 4x4 stick tranny with SN package for about month and a half now. I am a little disappointed it might take that long (4 months) for me to wait also. If it does, I might as well wait for the 06 models. Agree?
In any market any where , this would be a specail order truck. You will not find it on the lot anywhere I promise you. See about ordering it form the local dealers ,should be 60 to 90 day wait. You don't even want SR5 package # 3 SN?
4cyl, 4x2 SR5 Pkg #2, w/floor mats and door sill protectors $20,135. Maybe 300+ too much? That's why I waited 8 weeks to post! There was a trade-in involved that I wasn't 100% sure of the value of. Dickered back and forth and went for it. Already have 7,500 miles on it, so it sure is driver friendly.
Hello, this board is EXACTLY what I've been looking for. I've done some reseach here already but am posting for some more specific responses.
This is the first NEW automobile I'll ever have purchased so any help would be appreciated (I'm dreading dealing with my first car salesman!). I'm probably going to get a 2006 (if the price difference isn't that much from a 2005) Tacoma Prerunner TRD short bed, double cab, with nothing extra (I don't need the 6 CD player or plyglycoat). I think I'll opt for the 6 cylinder engine. Any idea what I would pay for something like this? I've been saving, so I'd be paying in for it outright.
Also, I've read here that someone recommended Redlands for a dealer in Southern California. I'm in West Los Angeles, so if there are any other good dealers closer to me, please let me know.
Thanks for all the informative posts and I can't wait to get into my new truck!
er hello people, you can't just say "I paid this much is it a good price".....Lordy is the buying public that clueless? Prices vary a LOT depending on all the options on the vehicle, the area you live in, etc etc etc.
Also don't let the [non-permissible content removed] dealers act like the manufacturer rebates are dealer rebates! I had one salesmen putz say "well the sticker price is this but we take off $2000 for the Toyota rebate and......" He seemed disgusted when I informed him how I was well aware that that was not a dealer rebate and we would negotiate as if that deal didn't exist. I left shortly after that. lol @ thinking he's going to get my $2K rebate.
"er hello people, you can't just say "I paid this much is it a good price".....Lordy is the buying public that clueless? Prices vary a LOT depending on all the options on the vehicle, the area you live in, etc etc etc."
The trade-in... "I got $5000 off the sticker!" But the buyer dosen't realize that they gave away a trade.
Another goodie: "The dealer paid off my loan on the old car!"
My all -time top favorite is: "I got the car for $299 a month, is that a good deal?" No other information is provided.
Can anyone tell me what the specific changes if any on the 05 vs 06 Tacoma Dbl Cab? I don't think there will be a big change...maybe just a few small ones. Thanks in advance.
Looking for anybody in the Tampa area that has had any experience in purchasing the Double Cab 4x2 TRD. Would like to know what type of deal you received and from which dealership...thanks in advance.
I live on the Pinellas side of the Bay and bought my '05 Prerunner access cab back in May. Let me fill you in on my experience with the local dealerships.
First of all, I had done my research and knew exactly what I wanted as far as options, color, etc.before I started shopping, and I had checked the Toyota site and knew that there were 5 vehicles in the southeast region at that time that matched what I was looking for. I started out with Autoway Toyota as it is the closest dealership to me. They gave me the runaround and kept trying to convince me to add more options and different configurations and such so I said "see ya" and moved on down the road to Clearwater Toyota. I was treated EXTREMELY poorly by one of the sales people there! Same thing, wanting to add other options and such and he got downright rude and nasty with me when I stuck to my guns with exactly what I wanted.
Basically what both of these dealerships wanted was to sell me one of the vehicles that they already had on the lot, and preferably one with lots of extras!
So...I moved on to Stadium Toyota in Tampa. They couldn't have been nicer! They tracked down one of the 5 that were out there with what I wanted, no questions asked, and had it on their lot and ready for me to pick up within two weeks. I had no trouble negotiating the price that I wanted and never felt pressured throughout the whole process to add anything that I didn't want. I can't say enough good things about them, they treated me great!
My advice would be to do your homework first. Build the vehicle you want on the Toyota site, check and see if your configuration is available in the area, and give them a call or stop in with the printout and tell them that this is the vehicle you want. I'm sure they'll treat you right. Good luck!
While I had an excellent experince buying my blue 05 Tacoma Access Cab V6 TRD#2 truck from Redlands Toyota , for anyone in the Riverside California area, avoid Moreno Valley Toyota at all costs . The sales manager was quite rude and obviously didn't want my sale. I told him I was only in for a test drive, and he tried to force the truck on me. And when I insisted on leaving to take care of my toddler daughter, he snapped back with... "Sorry for wasting "your" time". What a jerk. Even though I only live a few miles from the MoVal dealership, and over 20 from Redlands, I don't think I'll even take my truck to MoVal for servicing. I hope they go out of business. LOL
Thanks allot for your response...I have heard that Stadium Toyota was a good place to go...been there a couple of times a while back and it is a nice modern dealership. I did go to Precision Toyota the other day (brand new dealership)...they use to be on Florida ave but have seen moved to their new building on Flectcher Ave...very nice to say the least. Test drove the 4x2 double cab...the saleswoman was very nice and no pressure whatsoever...told her I was looking at both the tacoma and the frontier...she did not talk bad about the nissan at all...in fact all she did was discuss the plus and minuses of both vehicles...very good experience...didn't talk a price at that time which was no problem with her...I have done allot of research when it comes to these two trucks but I don't tell the salesmen that because I want to see how honest they are and how much they know about their product. If you don't mind me asking....did you get your truck for close to invoice? I know it was the access cab but nonetheless it would be a good gauge on how they deal. Again, thanks for your response.
I have also had postive results with Stadium Toyota recently. I have used Stadium, Precision & Central Florida in Orlando. Central Florida has made it worth my drive before. I also live in Tampa.
Thanks for all the tips guys. I had a quick question:
I plan on paying for my Tacoma in full with a check. Should I excpect an even better price since I'm paying for the truck outright or would this work against me since they can't talk me into their high finance rate?
I don't know about Toyota, but I do have a recent experience. I am in the military, and one of my troops went to Mallon Ford in Tacoma, Wa and traded in a vehicle to buy a new Explorer. He financed at a considerable rate because he is young and new to credit. A week later, they called up and said his financing did not go through. So his wife (who is very pregnant) went down there to pay cash for the vehicle. They proceeded to give here a very hard time. She ended up calling him up crying to say that they wanted an extra couple grand if they paid cash. He ran down there and said that he wanted his trade in back and would go elsewhere. They refused. She ended up in the hospital, and he ended up paying the extra cash to keep her from possibly losing the kid. That from a dealer that he had bought a previous car from and returned to because he trusted them. I would hope Toyota does not stoop that low.
I went looking for a 2005 Tacoma 4X4. After looking around, I came to the realization that I wanted the following options: 1. 110 outlet in the bed. 2. BFG Tires 3. Crew cab 4. Towing package 5. 6 speed 6. V6 7. Front tow hook ( I pull alot of domestics out. Ok, Foreigns too) 8. Dark color In the Pacific NW, TRD Off Road package 2 was the only option (and a fine one). The next step was to scour the Tacoma area. That was a challenge. Everyone wants that option. Quite frankly, the dealers don't have to deal because the trucks sell themselves. Toyota of Puyallup and Larson Toyota did not have ANY crew cab 4X4s. Both promised to call when they got one. I did drive some other models. I refused to order a truck, as different wheel bases, tires and engines don't give you a picture of the exact truck. I found one at Titus that was black. Another identical one came in while I was test driving the one I bought. The other one sold before I got back the next morning to buy mine. Mine had a manufacture's recc price of 29,500. It had a second sticker of 32,500 from Gresham Toyota in Portland, Or. I actually passed on mine originally brcause of the second sticker. The salesman caught the mistake. Up here they don't do second stickers. In Portland, they get away with that too. They offer rebates on everything but the Tacomas here because they sell good. One of the other dealers still has not called. The other called 2 weeks after I visited to say they could only find one truck and it was white. That is demand. Atleast I didn't pay 33K for a much inferior Ridgeline....
 9/15 I went claremont toyota to buy taco double cab the sticker 26888 after we tested I decide to buy in cash the sell man(owner) add 3000 add 4000 so the price go to $ 33888 i give $25000 OTD he did not take that to his boss. the price that gave him. so i left
Do NOT tell the dealer how you plan to pay for the car. Negotiate the price from the invoice up. Ask to have a detailed breakdown of ALL options, accessories, taxes, fees and charges, including OTD (out the door) total. Be prepared to walk out at any moment if they're not cooperating. When you reach an agreement you'd be passed on to the financial office to complete the paper work -- only then you write them the check! Good luck!
I purchased my '05 4x2 Access Cab Base Model from Larson a couple months ago. I started North of Seattle, hitting one lot after another until I saw the one I wanted. It was parked right in Front, with a salesman leaning against it. It was a painless process, and sure is a nice vehicle! Went back for my second oil change Monday, 9/12. I walked the lot instead of sitting in the waiting room. The inventory was spotty, to say the least. Looked like a Cinema parking lot late on a weeknight. I figured they were waiting for the 2006's?? Oh yeah, they forgot to tighten the drain plug all the way. I called them from home (60 miles away) to let them know. They asked if I wanted to bring it back? I said I had spotted fluid underneath, and climbed under myself. If I didn't know a thing or two about automobile maint, or took off from the dealership and hit the freeway for a road trip, I would have run my new truck out of oil. Service advisor sent me their business card in the mail with a note saying thanks for my business and please come see them again in the future. TRUE STORY.
After waiting for what seemed an eternity, I finally received my white 4x4 DC Tacoma this past Friday. I've been dealing with Champion Toyota here in town--very pleasant buying experience, probably the best I've ever had. I had negotiated a price for an 05 but that fell through due to the out of state dealership selling it before Champion could get it. Once that happened, Champion Toyota found the exact 2006 truck that i wanted minus all the Gulf States Toyota add-ons that inflate the price. My negotiated deal for the 2006 was $27,700 plus TTL...that includes the 6 disc, 6 speaker, steering wheel audio control system, TRD offroad package with the towing package, carpet floor mates and door sill protectors, and the bed mat. I know i paid a tad more over invoice than i originaly set out to, but getting a WHITE version of this truck was next to impossible down here in Texas. When they said they had one, i took it. So far the vehicle is as awesome as I thought it would be.
Just thought I would post this for others...I've followed this forum for the past few months. Good luck to all out there looking for their new vehicles.
I have never own a pickup or anything larger than a mini van, but this time I'd like to try a pickup - a Tacoma to be exact. I am moving down to Dallas area from Canada in October and need to buy a car as soon as get there.
From Toyota website, I have priced out a 2006 Double cab 2x4 short bed, V6 automatic for $25793 MRSP.
The price include the following options: Curtain Airbags, Driver & Front Passenger $650.00 SR5 Pkg #2: Remote Keyless Entry, Cruise $1525 -Sr5 Pkg #2: Remote Keyless Entry -Cruise -Control -Fog Lamps -Variable Speed Wipers -Chrome Grille Surround And Rr Bumper -Color-Keyed Fr Bumper And Overfenders -Sr5 Badging -Sliding Rr Window W/Privacy Glass -Metallic Tone Instr Panel Trim -Leather Strng Wheel And Shifter -Sunvisors W/Mirrors And Extenders Bed Mat $119.00 Daytime Running Lights $40.00 Window Tint $149.00 Chrome Running Boards $475.00 Am/Fm/Cd w/6 Disc Changer, 6 Speakers $200.0
What is a reasonable price range that I should pay for this truck?
So far, what is your impression of the 2006 Tacoma? Are you experiencing any of the the problems that other owners are in regards to the vehicle making noises when going over bumps? Are there any type of other noises are issues that you have picked up on? I'm anticipating whether to purchase a 2006 model in the hope of many improvements done to the vehicle from the year prior.
jadalen...after one week of driving my 06 Tacoma, I have yet to experience any noises in the vehicle that i would classify as issues that would raise concern in my book. the only issue that raised a red flag for me was in re to the starter/ignition time...i actually did a little research on this taco forum and found that others had questions in re to this--the ignition period seemed to take a "long" amount of time (compared to my 97 4x4 Suburban that used to drive). someone suggested waiting about 2 seconds when turning the key on to the start time...shortened the crank time to about half. other than that, the only other thing that i've noticed is there is an usual air circulation noise made when the driver side/driver passenger side windows are down (usually do this early in the morning or after an afternoon run)....i fixed this by sliding the rear winder open...makes the air circulation a lot quieter. don't know if others have experience this, but i'm chalking it up to the difference from my old ride. quite a difference in interior room from the old suburban.
i took a ride on a dirt rode that had some good bumps in it the other day...can't say i heard anything unusual. mind you it was only for about 2 miles but didn't hear anything unusual. rough city driving sure is a lot smoother in the tacoma than the suburban.
so far, this truck is everything i expected it to be and more....used it today to haul a playscape set for my little one....the bed/tie-down system is awesome.
hope this helps....if i were you i would definitely go ahead and get an 06. i'm really glad that the 05 deal i had worked out fell apart and that i got the 06.
OK, here is a story I hope someone will find useful. I decided to buy a 2005 Tacoma about February this year. My old truck is a 1987 Toyota. I test drove one locally and noted the sticker prices. Then I got on Edmunds.com and Consumerguide.com to check prices. I wanted to get an access cab, v-6, 4WD manual transmission in white with a grey interior. I also wanted the 6 CD changer, the TRD Offroad Package, Tow Package, bed extender, bed mat, tube steps and floor mat- sill protectors. I’ll use round figures: both web sites said the invoice should be about $25,500 with a sticker of $28,600 plus tax, license, etc. This sticker price lined up with the Toyota.com price as well. I live in Redding, which is in Northern California. I went into the local dealer (to be fair) and told them what I wanted they said it was "impossible to get on like that you can’t believe what the internet says," but I could, however, buy what they had in stock. No dealing on the price, either, as these are very popular trucks. Now, my old truck is almost 19, and I may drive this new one for 20 years, so I wanted to get what I wanted to get. Traveling is no big deal for me, as I am always up for a trip. Now it is March: So I emailed dealers all the way up and down the state, stating the exact truck I wanted and asking for their best price on it. All in all, I contacted 40 dealers. None of the (4) NoCal dealers even responded. I contacted the Southern California dealers, starting around Sacramento and San Francisco, and they responded with very interesting results. Many just said that particular truck was unavailable and despite what might be on the internet ("you can’t trust what you read there ") it could not be special ordered. However, these same dealers had trucks available on their lots which did not have the options I wanted. They tried to "sell" me on these trucks even though I specifically said I wanted this certain set up. Most were priced higher than the sticker price I got from Toyota.com, which shows that some dealers just tack on "extras" somehow. Some dealers did not even reply. This group (unavailable, or no response) totaled about 20 dealers. I ended up with about 15 responses. Some dealers responded with "invoice" prices considerably higher (up to $28K) than the ones I got off the internet, others were right on the mark (at $25,500). The sticker prices were all over the place. All in all, the "out the door" prices ranged from $34,000 to $28,000. No one anywhere had the truck in stock. It would have to be a special order. (This did not affect the price at the dealer I eventually got the truck from.) The lowest prices on the exact truck I wanted were offered by the Toyota dealer in Bakersfield, and Longo Toyota in El Monte. Now it is the first of April: I called my local dealer, and the two the next towns over to give them a chance to at least come close to the price. (You know buy locally and all that.) None of the 3 salesmen even called me back, although they assured me they would. I decided to try the Bakersfield dealer first, as they were only $300 higher and I had friends I could visit while there. They said, "No problem," dropped the price by $150 and took a deposit. Then they never called back. I waited and waited, and I had to keep calling them. "Oh, we are putting the order in, it should go " Finally in June, after I had to keep calling them, they admitted they could not get the truck. I got my deposit back (after more phone calls). End of June: I emailed Longo Toyota to see if their March offer still held. It did. It was at $25,800 (or $300 over invoice) and they said no problem ordering it. The salesman called me right away and I gave him the deposit, then he checked in with me in two days to let me know he had the order placed and my receipt in the mail. One week later, July: I got a very apologetic call from the salesman, stating there was god or bad news. I cringed. He could not get the special order placed for the August production run, as they were finishing the 2005 production and not taking orders. However, if I didn’t mind waiting until late September I could get a 2006 model for the exact same price. So I said OK to that! I flew down to LA and picked up the truck September 16th for an OTD cost of $28,000. I think, based on what I have read here in this forum and what I found on the internet, that I got a fair price. I spent $150 on the plane ticket, $120 on gas to get home. Had I flown to one of the close airports they would have picked me up in a courtesy van. Instead I caught a ride from a friend. This dealer wanted my business and was honest with me the entire time. They did not try to add on any extra charges or change anything once they had me there. I would recommend this salesman to you. Was it worth the wait? The 10 hour drive home? To me, yes. I got exactly the truck I wanted, plus a nice road trip to visit friends all the way through the state.
By the way, I do not have the clanky bumpy noise, the wind whistle or the leaky windshield. The paint seems fine so far. I varied my speed and gears coming home; even so I got 18mpg. This truck is such a step up from my 1987 it even has cup holders and windows that go down AND back up! The only change from the 2005 model year is the tire pressure monitor system. Sorry about the length of the post.
Yesterday I went to Avondale Toyota in the Phoenix area which has been in operation for 9 months now. I found out that they operate under toyotas new dealership paradigm of no more wheeling and dealing. They are going for a stress free experience by having set prices and supposedly no hidden fees. I priced out a 2006 4x4 DC 6spd with offroad package #1. The MSRP was 29.2k and their price was for me was 27.5 which was 1.7k off the MSRP which is comparable to the 2000 off that you may be able to get if you are great at wheeling and dealing. They also told me that all toyota dealerships have 5 years to conform to the same operations. All I know is that I am going back to Avondale toyota to buy my truck
every one pays cash, it just doesn't always come directly from your account. The dealer stands to make at least a $100 more if you finance form one of his sources
I have been doing a little research on the new 06 and it appears as though the option packages have changed a little...it looks as though the TRD Offroad and Sport Packages are the only options....as to what it was on the 05 with having the choice of TRD Offroad Package # 1 or # 2...and the same goes for the TRD Sport Package # 1 or # 2...I think the difference is now the tow package is a separate option instead of including it with the # 2 options for the TRD in the 05 model... Make sense? Please correct me if I am wrong....thanks
I think (quite sure) that the packages are determined by the market area. When I went looking for an 05 up here in the NW, the only 4X4 TRD Off Road package I saw was the #2. It may have been a tunnel vision thing because I knew that is what I wanted, but I know that the web site for Toyota talked about 6 or 7 packages that I know were not all available here.
thanks... I went to the toyota web page and clicked on the options for the Double Cab and it looks as though in my region they only have the TRD Offroad option and the TRD Sport Option #1 and the Sport Option # 2...Option # 2 only add the electrostatic mirror (whatever that is)....the tow package is now separate... But your 100% correct about the region thing...never thoought about that... Thanks Again!
Funny you should mention the tow package being seperate. I checked 4 locations. North Dakota, Northern California, Washington and Panama City, Fl (all places I have lived). Florida is the only place that had the tow package seperate from the off road package. Must be a Southeast thing.
Hello everyone, I just got this truck and wanted to let people know what price i paid. I know it helped me out when i was researching. I got it for $25,268 plus TTL. It has sport package (PM), TO. CF, FE. I'm loving it. :shades:
Anybody in the Tampa area??? What type of deal was done for an 05 or 06 Taco DC 4x2 with TRD Offroad package???? Am looking into buying one.... I did get a price of $23,750 on a left over 05 Taco DC 4x2 that had the TRD Offroad Package # 2 on it....it was the Silver Streak Mica color...that's it.... $23,750 is the price of the truck only (includes dest.)... Tax, Tag, dealer fees...are extra.... $499.00 dealer fee here in Florida....talk about oooouuuuccccchhhh! Am moving to snow country real soon and looking at getting one of these bad boys! Any help would be much appreciated.... Thanks
I am looking for a new 2006 Tacoma, 4 door 4X4 with the Sport Package. I just checked with one dealer yesterday and the price came out to around $29,870, a little higher than I want to pay. I have done some research and it looks to me as though most people are paying around $27,500 (according to edmunds), and the invoice pricing is at $25,915. I would love to get it as close to invoice as possible (who doesn't!). I am located in the SoCal area, and was wondering if anyone else has had the opportunity to buy one of these trucks with the sport package/other amenities?
Just a little help from anyone please. I am in the process of finalising the purchase of a Dble Cab 4x4 with TRD Off-Road Pkg; including various options. I have been checking/searching Toyota's web-site for pricing comparisons and have seen that various dealers show the same VIN number as the vehicle I have ordered but with different pricing. Prices range from $28,501-$31,822. My dealer has indicted the cost would be around $31,500. Can anyone give me a rough idea how far I could push for a better deal and why there is such a wide margin between the dealers for the same vehicle.
I have been looking for a Black 2005 or 2006 Access Cab 4X4 V6 6sp. with TRD off road package #1 with tow. Called 5 dealers in NE, best prices I have got back is 27,689 thats ttr included, and I could only find one in silver. Is this a good price? Any help would be great thanks.
I purchased that exact truck in Kansas City, MO in July for $25,500... It took me forever to find it, and they had had it on the lot for less than a week.... My price did not include ttr since I do not live in MO, I had to pay tax in Kansas.... You should remove the ttl from the price, since this will vary by state.... Hope this helps...
Price minus ttr was quoted to me as 25,470 sorry I did not include it in my orignal post. Calling 3 more dealers tommorow to see if I can find the truck in black, but if all else fails I will probably go with the silver. Seems like I am not getting to bad a deal, I just wish I could find one in black. Thanks again for all the help.
Just got home a few hours ago after buying my 06 Tacoma Access Cab PreRunner V-6 4x2 manual transmission. Options included Sport Package and Tow Package. Color is Silver Streak Mica. Dealer add-ons include alarm w/shock sensor (piggyback onto Toyota Keyless Entry and Engine Immobiliser), Floormats, & Pinstriping. Retail MSRP without dealer options was $24,590 including $599 delivery. Total MSRP was $26,100 with the dealer installed options.
Purchase price was $23,000 plus TTR. Invoice was listed at $22,057. Edmunds TMV listed $23,335. I think I got a good deal... at least, I didn't feel like I got ripped off. :-)
Dealer was Keith Pierson Toyota in Jacksonville. Extremely smooth buying experience, considering I diddn't plan on purchasing ANYTHING today. Left my checkbook home and everything. Got there at 1730, left in my new truck at 2030. Even financed me (at a better rate than what I could get) with my cr@ptacular credit score.
Fantastic experience, minimal haggling, it was the easiest $25 grand I ever spent in my life... except for that time in Vegas but that's another story. :P

,should be 60 to 90 day wait. You don't even want SR5 package # 3 SN?
Maybe 300+ too much? That's why I waited 8 weeks to post! There was a trade-in involved that I wasn't 100% sure of the value of. Dickered back and forth and went for it. Already have 7,500 miles on it, so it sure is driver friendly.

No one has a price on a '06 Tacoma Prerunner TRD short bed, double cab, with no extras? :confuse:
I live on the Pinellas side of the Bay and bought my '05 Prerunner access cab back in May. Let me fill you in on my experience with the local dealerships.

My advice would be to do your homework first. Build the vehicle you want on the Toyota site, check and see if your configuration is available in the area, and give them a call or stop in with the printout and tell them that this is the vehicle you want. I'm sure they'll treat you right. Good luck!
I don't mind you asking at all! I got it for 23,000 OTD, which was around 800.00 over invoice.
I plan on paying for my Tacoma in full with a check. Should I excpect an even better price since I'm paying for the truck outright or would this work against me since they can't talk me into their high finance rate?
1. 110 outlet in the bed.
2. BFG Tires
3. Crew cab
4. Towing package
5. 6 speed
6. V6
7. Front tow hook ( I pull alot of domestics out. Ok, Foreigns too)
8. Dark color
In the Pacific NW, TRD Off Road package 2 was the only option (and a fine one). Atleast I didn't pay 33K for a much inferior Ridgeline....
after we tested I decide to buy in cash the sell man(owner) add 3000 add 4000
so the price go to $ 33888 i give $25000 OTD he did not take that to his boss.
the price that gave him. so i left
TRUE STORY.
Just thought I would post this for others...I've followed this forum for the past few months. Good luck to all out there looking for their new vehicles.

So far, what is your impression of the 2006 Tacoma? Are you experiencing any of the the problems that other owners are in regards to the vehicle making noises when going over bumps? Are there any type of other noises are issues that you have picked up on? I'm anticipating whether to purchase a 2006 model in the hope of many improvements done to the vehicle from the year prior.
i took a ride on a dirt rode that had some good bumps in it the other day...can't say i heard anything unusual. mind you it was only for about 2 miles but didn't hear anything unusual. rough city driving sure is a lot smoother in the tacoma than the suburban.
so far, this truck is everything i expected it to be and more....used it today to haul a playscape set for my little one....the bed/tie-down system is awesome.
hope this helps....if i were you i would definitely go ahead and get an 06. i'm really glad that the 05 deal i had worked out fell apart and that i got the 06.
Now it is March:
So I emailed dealers all the way up and down the state, stating the exact truck I wanted and asking for their best price on it.
(This did not affect the price at the dealer I eventually got the truck from.)
The lowest prices on the exact truck I wanted were offered by the Toyota dealer in Bakersfield, and Longo Toyota in El Monte.
Now it is the first of April:
I called my local dealer, and the two the next towns over to give them a chance to at least come close to the price.
End of June:
I emailed Longo Toyota to see if their March offer still held. It did. It was at $25,800 (or $300 over invoice) and they said no problem ordering it. The salesman called me right away and I gave him the deposit, then he checked in with me in two days to let me know he had the order placed and my receipt in the mail.
One week later, July:
I got a very apologetic call from the salesman, stating there was god or bad news.
Make sense? Please correct me if I am wrong....thanks
I just got this truck and wanted to let people know what price i paid. I know it helped me out when i was researching. I got it for $25,268 plus TTL. It has sport package (PM), TO. CF, FE. I'm loving it. :shades:

Forgive me if im asking self explanatory questions i am still learning about this taco
