Well it is 6/1 and some said the 2k incentives expire on 5/31.
    Any updates...

As of the moment there is nothing known to be offered.

if Honda would stop 'playing games' and just give the incentives direct to the customer rather than the dealer they'd be able to get rid of their surplus stock in Pilots..

we're looking for one for my wife.. won't go near one until they come back with incentives and 'deals'... she turns in her Trailblazer next week on a lease..
  • jenkinsismejenkinsisme Member Posts: 30
Look on the bright side- at least you get to turn in the Trailblazer and walk instead of trying to trade one that you purchased!
  • stakeoutstakeout Member Posts: 173
as bad as the reviews and take is on the Trailblazer.. we had a 2 year lease thru GMAC.. figuring we'd get rid of it if problems came up quickly...they haven't..she had an '01 Subn 4x4 before that ...

in the 2 years she's had it.. nada.. not one problem... wife said she wants a change.. like she does every time she's due for a new car at the end of a lease..she likes the interior layout with more room in the Pilot... unless of course the chevy dealer relents and 'gives' it away on a buy back 15-16K instead of the 22K buy back ... which the GM dealers never do...

darn T-B has gotten 18+ in mixed driving around here and 23 on the road.. that's actual true mileage .. not sure what actual mileage figures are on the Pilot... I'm on my 3rd Subn since '99..have an '04 4x4... just hate to give up 'big'... 9 months to go on that lease.. in '01 we both had Subn 4x4's :)

According to a Honda salesperson, there are no F-T-D incentives on the Pilot for June (at least in the SF Bay Area). Personally, I hope this is not the case. I'll continue to check around.

Need some tips from you guys/girls on how to negotiate with those dealers to get the price that u paid. I am looking for a 06 Pilot with leather and Nav. I got two quotes so far from the dealership near where I live and their price are very close to the TMV for this model from Edmunds, around $30,500, excluding tax and other fees.

The price u guys paid sounds really good to me.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

If your price of $30,500 is including destination charge ($550), your price is very close to what I paid ($30,395 plus tax title etc.). I went to Honda dealer's web sites & made an offer of $30k for Pilot EXL-Nav. One dealer called me & offered $30,395 price. Funny thing is after I purchased the vehicle on 5/29, another sales man from the same dealer called me & offered to meet my price of $30k. I told him I already purchased the car at his dealer. I am happy with my purchase price. May be I could've gotten a few more hundred dollars off but I didn't bother bc I though it was a fair price w/$2000 dealer incentive. I don't know if honda is running any incentives this month so the price quotes you got may not be good anymore.

Looksl ike the 2K incestives are gone here in St. Louis at least.
Edmonds.com and carsdirect.com now have prices in the mid 32s
for EX-L, with DVD. Oh well.

The 2K incentives in May acturally started from May 02 to May 31. Hope it is still there for June. I almost bought an EX AWD at Memorial weekend. At that time the dealer accessed a dealer only website and showed me that.

Just received the following: Your Internet Price Special for a 2006 Honda Pilot EX-L with Navigation is $28,995 + destination & handling on in stock units if sold and delivered by 6/30/06.
It looks like the dealer incentives are still on. This is from a NJ dealership.

    What I got-
2006 EXL AWD with RES in Silver (1st choice sage brush pearl, all gone) for $29,629. Out the door $29,847 (no sales tax in Oregon)
    Where I got it it-
Jay Lee's Honda in Portland/Gladstone. Walked in at 1pm on 5/31, drove off 90 minutes later with Pilot at 2:30pm. That also includes a 20 minute test drive!!
    The Deal
After much hemming and hawing and not sure if the 2k incentives would carry into June, I decided to pull the trigger. So through Edmunds I let two dealerships know that I wanted an EXL AWD with RES. In the comments section I mentioned that I've seen the same model advertised on the internet for $29K (Berlin City Honda in NH) so I wanted their best price under $30K. An hour later Jay Lee's came back with a price of $29,829.

That night I visited Beaverton Honda which is closer to my house and told them that I can get an EXL AWD w/RES for under $30K, can you match or beat. I gave them a chance b/c I visited the dealership twice before, did test drives, and I thought the people were great, and I think they deserved a chance to make a better deal for me. The best they could do was possibly get to $30K, if I wanted under $30K they have a demo w/6,000 miles that they could get to under $30K.

Beaverton Honda asked who the competition was and when I told them Jay Lee's they warned we that they're a new ownership taking over the dealership, they didn't have much inventory, and/or they would try and pull a bait and switch. Forewarned, I emailed Jay Lee's and asked what colors they had and if they included running boards, all weather floor mats, and a cargo tray they had a deal. Unwilling to give me a thousand dollars in accessories they told me they'd knock another $200 off the silver, bringing my purchase price to $29,629. He also said they had another buyer interested in both colors who would be there by 3:30, so I got there at 1pm.
I arrived at the dealership, which is undergoing remodeling. Under previous management I always thought of this dealership as the hot box type of dealership where they would grind on you for several hours before you said uncle. So I was prepared to walk at any sign this deal was not what I wanted. I met with the fleet/internet manger, who led me to the silver Pilot, I checked the sticker to make sure it was AWD, saw the RES and when we turned it on, saw that it had only 10 miles on it. Took it for a test drive, came back to the dealership, wrote out a PERSONAL check, sat with the finance guy for 10 minutes, went back to the sales guy who went over the features of the Pilot and I was out of there in 90 minutes!!!

All communication with Jay Lee's was done via email, if anyone would like to see the thread feel free to email me and I will forward to you. It was the most pleasant car buying experience I've ever had, I couldn't have asked for an easier one.

The next day I got a call from Cars Direct, and they were surprised I could get it for under $30K. They wouldn't have done it as there best price was $30,500.

    What I would do differently.
The only thing I would do differently, was started working on my deal BEFORE the last weekend of the month, so I could get my first choice color, Sage Brush. Other than that I'm happy!!!

Question: The finance guy offered me an extended warranty on the Pilot for $1200, bumper to bumper which would extend my warrant to 8 years 120,000 miles. Usually I don't get them, but with all the electronics, RES, etc, I'm considering it. Does anyone have any thoughts on it?

i just spoke with Ourisman Honda in Bethesday MD who said that that there is a June $1500 cash back incentive. I know that the May incentive was $2000. So either A. They dropped it by $500 or B. It is a dealer run-around. Anyone have any other info of June dealer cashpack on the Pilots?

Which dealer in Miami to you buy from? This looks like a good price. When you say you added sidesteps, do you mean thathey were included in the price and that you installed them?
  • jmurman42jmurman42 Member Posts: 675
Honda dropped it to $1500 fro June from $2000 in May.

Remember the warranty is a high profit margin add on for the dealership-therefore extremely negotible. Is that their best price or their first price?

I was quoted $27,500 including destination, for EX-L AWD (no NAV or RES), in central NJ. Is that a good price?
  • dhimantdhimant Member Posts: 2
    Hello guys,

Havea quote for a Pilot EX (no leather) 2WD for $25300 + Destination +TTL.
Is that a good quote? Am in the Dallas area.

I have been trying to find a WHITE 06 Pilot EX-L 4WD in South FL for a week with no luck. I was quoted $32,447 OTD (includes 6% tax)including mud flaps and stripes. I really don't need the Navigation system. Is this a fair price and is the navigation system worth the cost?
Also, I must rent a Avis car for $70 one-way to drive to Savannah for delivery.
    Thank you for any comments,

made an offer of 30K for an 06 exl-res which was accepted. emailed my offer and told dealer i'd be in to negotiate a trade in for 01 odyssey ex. huntington honda offered me $8200 which i told them was too low. told them i couldn't make the deal so they bumped it up to $8500, then $8800, then $9000. called my wife to discuss the events, decided i didn't want to go thru with the deal. he bumps his offer up to $9500 but i walked away. this was a fair deal, but with 3 kids i felt my van was more practical...and paid off for! my wife was disappointed, but she understood. the bottom line...they will negotiate and this forum is extremely helpful! good luck to all potential buyers!

Can anyone confirm what the dealer incentive is for June?

The dealer incentives for June on the Pilot are $1500 (vs the $2k in May). Good luck!

Since the board and the RFQ process through Edmunds was extremely useful for me I just wanted to let the board know the price I paid in Columbus, OH. Purchased (May 30th, 2006) from Hugh White Honda for $25,800 including Destination. OTD was $27,800 no extras. I have rounded the numbers. They were not the cheapest, Honda East was the cheapest by about $150, but did not have the color of our choice. Dealings with both of them were very good all via e-mail except for a call to set up the appointment and finalizing the quote. Visit to delaership was smooth, just signed the papers for the car and loan, test drove the vehicle and out of the door in about 1-1/2 - 2 hours.

I would recommend Hugh White or Honda East for any Honda Purchase.

Edmunds.com and their forums have been very useful in this purchase. :D

Where did you find that information? I didn't see it listed on the Edmunds site under that tab. Thanks.

I am buying a Pilot today and have spoken to 8 different dealerships about it. FYI I am getting an EXL no nav or DVD for $27,294 including freight and all processing fees. Good luck.
  • macy1macy1 Member Posts: 10
Are you getting 2WD or 4WD? I guess this does not include tax but sounds like a good price. Are you buying in MD?
    Thanks for the info.

What state/dealer was this? Sounds good.

The dealer is HONDA OF HAYWARD, California.

    Hi Paul,

I also live in Vancouver, BC and I'm looking for AWD EX-L with NAV in
the Pacific Northwest area. Could you tell me who you dealt with and
what options did you get? Thanks.

I received a quote this evening via email from dealership in S.E. PA for an 06 EXL with Nav for $28,758 plus T&T. If we decide to go with the Pilot I'll try to push them to $28,000. That seems like a good deal based on what I've seen here recently. My wife wants another Volvo XC90 (our lease on an 04 is over this month), but I'm trying to sell her on the Honda. Better car over long term, better value, but not as "stylin".
  • dcislanderdcislander Member Posts: 7
I bought a Piolt EXL AWD last night. $29,700 out the door with tax, tags , freight, fees, add on alarm, undercoating, clear coating, mud guards, wheel locks and floor mats. I probably got scammed on the alarm and coatings, but figured I got a good price so it was OK. I bought in Bethesda MD.

Does anyone have any experience with buying the extended warantees? They offered me one from JM&A backed by American Express. It is 7yr/100,000. I live in the city so I will hit the years long before the miles. It retails for $2500 but they will drop it to $2000 (but our delaer said that I should still try to negotiate it down). It is bumper to bumper plus wear and tear also like wipers, breaks, air bags, bulbs, leather, paint... Plus if you do not use the warantee at all, they will refund the entire amount (in 7 yrs though). Down side is that if you change the wipers with them , then you get nothing back. I do mostly hard on the car city driving. What does everyone think? Worth it? Thanks for your advice.

Yes the 2K incentive -- Marketing Support for Honda Pilot is gone. I got a deal here at Riverside Honda - Southern CA and got the incentive last month and a friend of mine wants to get the same deal this month but not anymore. Maybe they will throw that incentive again in the future. Who knows.
  • driveindrivein Member Posts: 15
I am sorry if I am confusing. I knew about last month's marketing support [it was on this site] but am curious as to the source for this month's offering so to be able to use it if need be. Surely the dealers didn't volunteer it? Thanks!

just got inflated email price quote on Pilot 4wd EX cloth for 28300...with 511 mo lease 15K/yr $0 down... same vehicle on site at Berlin Honda in NH selling for 25599...

now we'll see if the first quote from dealer that came thru ..my local dealer.. will stand by their ..."We guarantee the lowest possible price on every new Honda model"... this should be interesting.. if he matches will buy it from him tomorrow.. wife turns in her T-Blazer tomorrow afternoon...

Does anyone know if there will be better sales prices for the July 4th holidays for the Honda Pilots? Has anyone had any experience in the past with July 4th sales that they can share, be it good or bad?

Please help. Trying to convince my wife to wait till then. We have our first baby coming around that time and I want to see if we would get a better deal if we wait till then.
    Can anyone help! Thanks.

    Kwame, Silver Spring.
  • dcislanderdcislander Member Posts: 7
I have no experience w. the 4th, but we just bought a Pilot last nt. We live in DC and are expecting baby #1 too. I scoured the forums and took notes as to the lowest prices that people paid for the pilot I wanted (regardless of the current "deal") and went to the Edmunds "Get an Offer from a Dealer" site. You can only e-mail 3 at a time, so I did it 7 times and e-mailed all of the dealers within 30 miles. I wrote exactly how much I wanted to pay out the door. 2 came back with prices lower than the one that I had pitched. the others were all higher. I then took the lowest number and went to teh dealer closest to me to see if they could match the price and they did. All in all, I only made one trip to a dealer when I bought the car, and never spoke to anyone--everything was done by e-mail. You need to keep things in order when managing so many offers, but I got my Pilot for just about $30 EXL out the door including tax, tags, freight, fees, the alarm+undercoat+clear coat (I am a sucker)+mudflaps+wheel locks+mats+some other small stuff. Hope this helps.

I personally think that the long weekend makes no difference. Dealer is just looking at his bottom line. If it makes financial sense for him to sell the car he will, whether or not its a long weekend.

Sometimes dealers may advertise lower prices on the long weekend. They may be trying to drum up more business. But this just means its easier to get the lower price. He would still sell it at that price earlier, he just didn't advertise it. If you have found this board, then you should be able to get that price anyways. Just shoot for 2K below invoice and don't accept any worse than $1500 below.

With that said, there are two reasons it could be cheaper on the 4th. Its the end of the month for one. While not technically the end of the month, I'll bet for record keeping purposes it is. So if a dealer has to meet a certain goal, they will be more inclined to take a loss. However finding this particular dealer needing to meet a goal is dumb luck, and almost impossible. The other reason is that incentive from Honda could change. However this is like .1% chance as current incentives are scheduled to run through the 4th.
I wouldn't feel any need to wait till the 4th.

Is the $500.00 destination charge negotiable?
  • zanc7zanc7 Member Posts: 13
Thanks for everyone's input on this forum. I have been quoted $29,895 + TTL for an 06 EX-L with NAV and chrome side steps in southern california.

Most dealerships are coming in around the same. Do i still have some wiggle room?

    Thanks.
  • kodumkodum Member Posts: 2
That was great information. I think with that in mind, I can expect similar actions from other dealers when I send them e-mails like you did. We are looking for options like you got plus NAV & DVD. We are however not looking to walk out the door paying more than $30k.
It seems hard but we are hoping end of month sales will cause some as far as 50 miles away to consider our offer.
We're only scared that since this would be our first big ticket purchase, we might be taken advantage of.
Did you get the car in the exact spec you wanted it in?
Thanks a lot for the advice. Congrats on BABY #1.

Does anyone know if there will be manufacturers rebates or any financing offers made available bu Honda in July ? So far there's just a lease offer on the Pilot. Planning to buy one with the DVD RES - but can wait until next month if any special offers will be available.

I purchased a 2006 pilot EXL 2wd with dvd for $28149.00 + tax and license ect... from a dealer in Lancaster, CA. So how good a deal did I get? The dealer said I was a criminal. I am curious if all the research I did truly paid off or if he is doing a great job of playing the part?
  • va_guyva_guy Member Posts: 12
The following website (Consumer Guide Automotive) is showing that Honda is still providing the $2,000 Dealer Incentive for Pilots thru 7/5/2006. I have no affiliation with this site and can't vouch on it's accuracy...

What do you think? You already made the purchase so what difference does it make what everyone says? You must feel like you got a good deal or you wouldn't have bought it. That is all that matters. If you did all this research that you speak of then you should already know what kind of deal you got. Congratulations on your purchase. The pilot is a great buy.
