I know dodge has the Dakota with crew cab, but the bed is small. Anyone have the dimensions on the bed and overall length?

I would rather have a manual.
Would this short bed be able to carry a 4'x8' piece of plywood?
I realize that it will stick out the back, but will a person be able to transport an occasional piece of plywood home.
Just be sure to tie down whatever you're carrying.
I know that I measured one of my company vehicles that has a tool box on it and it has a 6 1/2' bed. With the tool box I only have about 61" of bed to use. So look at it that way if you want. I don't personally use a tool box and won't on my new SuperCrew so it doesn't matter to me.
ABRAMS: No flareside is to be offered from my understanding. However, the tail lights on the 2001 SuperCrew are very similar to the current flareside.

Seems this bed will be more than adequate for my needs.
Mostly for hauling camping gear, fishing equipment, etc.
4x8 sheet goods would be the largest item for me.
Just wanted to know it could be hauled without major difficulty.
If it was available with a manual tranny, it would be perfect.
The Ford webpage promotes the new Ranger size Sport Trac (crew cab), but I have not been successful in finding anything on the full size configuration of the new crew cab/mini-bed.
Any ideas?

I bought a net from AutoZone that I've attached to mine. When the extender is in my truck bed I can place grocery bags in the the net to stop them from sliding around.
So far I've been very happy with mine. I could do the same thing with some plywood, but this looks better and appears to be pretty sturdy. Go to a Nissan dealership - they might have some installed on their Crew Cab Frontiers.
I was involved in a truck focus group back in
April, maybe May. One of the several vehicles
on display that we were to "evaluate" were the
Chevy 1500 crew cabs. They didn't say when they
will be available, but I won't be surprise if
they are available by this Spring. The ones in
display had the Chevy front-end, but I'm sure
GMC will have them also.
While I did not get all the details while on the phone with him, he told me the 2WD Lariat version is approximately $2,300 more than Lariat 2WD F150 SuperCab. I was thinking it would be more like $1,500 to $1,800. In general he said it looked like the other options were same price as they would be for other F-150 products. While I can't verify this, it would be great if some of you other guys start bugging your dealers to see if they can download the prices and we can compare notes.
Also, he did confirm the delivery delays. Says he has ordered 10 so far and all show to be delayed in the computer. He said he was told job 1 now January and first trucks start arriving mid Feb. So March is probably more likely.
Very disappointing.
My truck is the XLT with basically ALL options excluding sunroof and power seats. (Leather only available in Lariat.)
By the way, the SuperCrew does come w/ foglamps!
I realize that the F-250 is larger but I can deal with it.

Then select Auto Pricing Guide
Then look for the link to WEB Carbook
Under new vehicles, select 2001 as the model year, only Ford will pop up after that. Click away and you will have a price.
You don't have to be member to use this part.

Then under heading "Pricing Guide" select WEB Carbook
It worked for me!
Thanks
Just be careful assuming that these prices are totally correct. I applaud these services trying to get information out as quickly as possible.
I think option pricing matches F150 option pricing for the most part.
I calculate roughly $1,600 over F150 Supercab Styleside Lariat base which is more reasonable than my earlier post of $2,300. I have not looked as it compares to SD Crew Cab but $1,600 less than sounds about right.
No delivery date on mine either.

Merry Christmas all.
It said it was being introduced in the year 2001 but, could this be the MODEL YEAR of the truck and as such we will see in the year 2000? I am not sure. The article was unclear about this. Also could this be the same truck mentioned in response #87?
When I got my first look at the Ford F-150 Supercrew I was hooked! It is was my perfect answer. But now Chevy is answering back with the "Avalanche" and with a name like that I've got to know more about this truck. So, does anyone know anything about this new stranger in town?
Anyhow, the dealer I deal w/ in Toledo was expecting the crew cab in March of 2000 on the 2500.
I have no clue about the 1500. GM is always last to do something. Why I don't know. I have a '98 K1500 3dr. Z71 and love it but a friend bought a Centurion Conversion (half ton, cut and stretched like a limo) it was really nice. It's a Tahoe/Yukon and P/U in one!!!!
The Avalanche is a totally different vehicle
then the 1/2 ton crew cab. At the focus group,
they were BOTH on display. Just like the Ford
Super-Crew is based and looks like the F-150,
the 1/2 ton crew cab is based and looks like the
current Silverado. Personally, I didn't like the
looks of the Avalanche, but I'm sure it will do
for some. The 1/2 crew-cab on the other hand,
was awesome!!! It was a 4x4,with fender flares.
I'm definately waiting for these to come out to
replace my '96 Z71.
Many thanks for the info. I am definitely in the market for the 1/2 ton crew and with your description of the Silverado as "awesome", well that's one I've got to see. I too like the Silverado's styling, as well as the F-150.
As for the Avalanche; now you've really got my curiosity peaked. You say its not a crew cab and its not an SUV, then what is it? Oh I know, its a platypus! Now that is strange.:)
