    that one is the Subaru SVX......and I actually like it. For some reason that car just clicked with me. I always liked it and I'm not even a 4WD/AWD fan. Just liked that sucker for some reason. I still occasionally see one around town.

    Oh, as far as the "supercar" comment, well it was pretty heavy and not near as quick (IIRC) as say a TT Supra and the like.

    Yeah, from what I remember, it was a little down on power and heavier than a Supra or a 300ZX, etc.. of the same era... It was more of a "grand tourer" than a sports car.

    3.0L flat six, basically the same engine still used by Subie in the Tribeca and upscale Legends/Outbacks.

    Not true. The SVX used a 3.3 H-6, and is not in any way related to the current 3.0 H-6 Subie now uses.

    actually saw one at a light yesterday.

    I drove one when the first came out (my neighbor worked for SOA and had it for a test). At the time, it was about the quickest thing I had driven in ages. Of course, my own cars were a Nissan PU and a Mazda 323, so maybe not a good frame of reference.

    Yeah, that was a GT, but even more so, it was a GT for the snow belt.

    C&D did a test purely in the snow and it basically won every single category they tested.

    Not too many professors in New England had $33,000 lying around back then, so it sold in low volumes.

    Well, talk about a small niche - a sports car for snowy weather! No wonder it didn't sell too well. I always thought it was pretty cool. It seemed really futuristic.

    The Scorpio was the last "large" Ford for the European market, IIRC. With its looks, I can see why.

    Rented one of these in India. The car is big on the outside, and big on the inside, and seats six. It's still being built today, and is used mostly as taxis and cop cars. Sounds kind of like the Crown Victoria, huh?
