New Civic wagon (which appears longer than the tall looking one in the original photo):
If you had a front-end shot of the old one, it would be pretty clear, I think...
I'm wrong a lot in this forum, though... guess that's why I'm not the host, here.. :shades:

Amazing that such stuff exists on the internet at all
76-79 Wagon: Same as yours fintail:
80-83 Wagon:
While wagon browsing, I also saw this:
(Apparenlty it's photoshopped)
So that makes the mystery wagon a 79 or older. You can tell by the angle of the C pillars.

Fintail gets them both! Hemmings thinks the seller is on crack, figures a clean '79 Civic CVCC wagon is worth perhaps $2,400.

Hard to say, it could be a 49ish Packard.

The bike is a Feuling W-3 with 150 Cubic Inch 3 cylinder design - essentially a Harley twin with an extra cylinder grafted on to it.

Ah well, that's what happens when you post a picture that is 2 wheels short, even if it does have a 3rd cylinder.
That's what I meant by "World's shortest W engine? "...

Not too surprising considering that rural roads in Russia are probably a bit more challenging than the parking lots at Starbucks where our SUVs usually go. :P

My wife's family had one of those Type 3's and a Fastback. She hated them.
In Europe VWs are widely praised for quality, and prospective buyers sometimes wait months for coveted models such as the high-output diesels. Then again, they are competing against Renault, Peugeot, and Fiat.
A lot of folks want to blame Mexican assembly plants for the supposed decline of VW quality in the US market. They've forgotten the woes associated with the electrical and fuel systems of cars like the German-built 412, or the virtually instantaneous rust of the early (again, German-made) Rabbit and Scirocco.
So try this one on for size:
The (Type 4) 412 was an improved version (bigger motor, more HP) of the car we knew as the VW Squareback/Fastback. It was the last of the aircooled VWs.
