are you paying taxes? I believe there's a tax incentive for TX right now, I'd make sure to be taking advantage of that.

just couldn't tell if that portion of $2k down incl any taxes.
  • austonian1austonian1 Member Posts: 2
There were no taxes ... the way I was looking at it was for 18 months it was $404 a month once you took into account all money out (7280 / 18 = 404)

    Total for lease: down + 1st month + 17 months + disposition = $7280.56

so I'm in Texas looking right now, I had used http://www.truecar.com/ to find the average price of the Journey w/Premium & Nav selling. In my area the Avg price sold was $38,555 w/MRSP of $42,145. Target price is $36,761.

I'm not sure what your negotiated price of the car is, but even if I factor $38,555 as the negotiated price, w/a $2000k down payment, your payment should be around $252/month + disposition fee = $385/month all in.

residual should be 75% & money factor .00001

I would try to get a negotiated rate of around $37k-38k if you can, esp with $2k down.

Nice deal...if you wrapped the money down of $2,000 into the lease for 17(??? odd)........you'd add $118 to the $271 for $389. Did you get $1,000 customer loyalty if you had prviously owned an Infinit? They would know you down another $1,000 / 17 months or $59 for $339 a month............
  • aus10sntxaus10sntx Member Posts: 30
PLEASE can you give me any hint to what dealership name and/or city you were able to get this deal?

what was the negotiated cap cost?

I'm assuming $601 upfront was your 1st month plus license/reg fees.

I'd be willing to jump on this right away.

    I'm in TX as well.
  • wawzj619wawzj619 Member Posts: 58
Sewell Houston. Negotiated the price through emails and phone calls. Then went there to sign the paper.

Yes. $601 is first month plus license and reg fees.

I noticed you are currently leasing a Nissan car. How many months left on your Nissan lease? IFS will waive up to 3 mons payments?

    3. I have to make a decision before 8/29 for NMAC to pay the 3rd to last payment. I have a pretty good deal w/Nissan, but I haven't found an Infiniti TX dealership that's willing to give a good deal on the G37. $483 & $462/month right now. So the Nissan deal is becoming more and more enticing.
  • aus10sntxaus10sntx Member Posts: 30
I reached out to Sewell Dallas, and didn't get such a good deal. They still wanted $463 or so/month without cash down. I'm just not about to put cash down on a lease, I'd be looking at purchasing a vehicle if that's the case. They were honest with the MF that they weren't matching what Infiniti USA advertised, BUT they weren't willing to say absolutely no taxes. They wanted to charge 1.25% taxes out of 6.25% for a "fee". Not sure if you paid absolutely no taxes, but I found another guy on the myg37 forum that recently leased from another dealership in the dallas area and they didn't charge tax AT ALL.

I might be giving Sewell Houston a ring tomorrow. I'm in Austin, so I'd be traveling to pick this up.

    I REALLY appreciate your help!

Would you mind sharing your MRSP, Net Cap Cost (and if they rolled anything such as acq fee in to this), total taxes paid, any cash down payment they wanted, if anything, your mthly payment, and what amount was due at drive?
  • wawzj619wawzj619 Member Posts: 58
The tax they charged me is 1.2%. They said that's some sort of fees they need to pay...
  • wawzj619wawzj619 Member Posts: 58
If you give me your email, I can share the sales person name with you. Probably can make it easier to negotiate.

this is my first time posting here...I am about to pick up an Infiniti and want to know how my lease looks to all of you. here are the terms (I am a novice with this stuff, so dont know all about cap costs etc..). I got an Infiniti G37 Journey. I can obviously walk away from this before making payment tomorrow so interested to know what you think. Thanks in advance.

    All in costs:
$1000 down payment (includes first month payment)
    $350 month including tax/tag/title etc...
    39 months/10k miles a year
  • wawzj619wawzj619 Member Posts: 58
Cannot really tell if it's a good deal without MSRP, CAP cost, etc.

If you can get 12K miles per year, it would be better.
  • garden54garden54 Member Posts: 27
I can tell you that if it were NJ , it should be about $400 monthly...no up front OOP
  • jescobar17jescobar17 Member Posts: 7
I'm thinking I got a good lease deal, you be the judge. the numbers may not be 100% accurate but its very close. I'm an AZ resident, I flew in this Saturday, they picked me up at the airport, signed the papers and was in and out within a couple of hours. No up sell, they didn't try to add anything to the backend of the deal, 100% no pressure sales. Never has such a good buying experience!

    2012 G37: Premium + Nav! 12K miles

    MSRP: 41,655
    Selling price: 36,829
    Drive off: $1100
    MF: .0001
    residual: 32,074
    Base payment $252 + tax

This deal was out of SoCal, Perry Inifiniti. Tell them the guy form AZ sent you, they'll know. they had 34 G37 sedan, not sure on how many the coupes. Not sure if you can get the same deal but I'm sure they will beat most other offers out there. They are blowing them out, you got 5 days left.

    is this a G37 or G37x?

    thanks.
  • jescobar17jescobar17 Member Posts: 7
it's the G37, not the G37x. It's hard to find the X in SoCal, AZ or Nevada

Just curious, why did you come from AZ to buy in CA? I assume you had to pay CA registration and re-register it in AZ. The reason I ask is that I am moving to Phoenix next month and I am gonna wait to lease after I move. Are the deals better in CA? Thanks
  • kingpcgeekkingpcgeek Member Posts: 1,051
You don't have to pay CA registration if buy in CA and you live in AZ . But if you are currently living in CA, buy there and soon after move to AZ you will have to pay registration in both states. Figure at least $600 to register a G in AZ.

The problem with buying an Infiniti in Phoenix, is that while there are 4 Infiniti dealers here, 3 of them are owned by the same company. Thus very little competition. Oh and forget dealer trades between the 3 and the fourth. They are mortal enemies.

    blee5,

I didn't have to pay a CA registration fee, only AZ registration, like kingpcgeek mentioned, ~$600.

I tried every dealer in AZ, they couldn't come anywhere close to the the CA deals.
  • blee5blee5 Member Posts: 2
Thanks for the advice! If thats the case, I will probably try to buy/lease in CA before I leave. I assume if I can get a AZ drivers license and have an address in AZ, I can avoid pay CA registration.

Just got a 2012 G37 w Nav, Premium & 18 in wheels with only 7 miles on it for:

    MSRP: $41,405
    Acquisition Fee: $700
    Selling Price: $42,105
Drive off: 2,000 after $1,000 off from infiniti loyalty
    $34,245.90
    Base Payment $364.46 + tax
    18 month lease

The dealership said I can go over the 10k max that's on the lease. They said they will just buy it back after the lease if I don't abuse the car. I was very hesitant (my first lease) and the store manager came out and said that this is how business is done at the dealership. As long as there's no major damage they buy back the cars. I know I drive 22k a year.

Turn in the lease after 18 months with over 10k a year then I would be charged, but if they buy it back I'm free and clear. Everyone assured me about this. Does this make sense to anyone else? I am going back to inifiniti with my down payment today so a quick answer would be great :)

Thanks for any help on this important matter of mine.
  • krishnamkrishnam Member Posts: 29
At what price will they buy back the car for?

if you don't like the price they are offering you will end up paying per mile for the overage.

Your sale price is way high as well. I am considering a lease as well and was quoted 2k below the invoice. With 2k down my payment would be around $220 which includes sales tax of 9.7%.

    Shop around.
  • g37_nav_premg37_nav_prem Member Posts: 2
I thought the price they are offering me was the residual rate of $34,245? This is the value of the vehicle after my lease. I am such a novice at this. I don't want to buy this car. Just lease this and get a new car after the term.

They said that they would buy the car so I won't owe anything at the end of my term. Does this sound right? They said that if I just left the lease after the term without selling it to them then the 10k miles per month applies.

My question: Is this typical of the dealer to say they will buy the car from the lessee. I said why do you buy it back? He says that the used cars at the lot are going so fast that they always need more. That it's a good time to lease and they will buy the cars after the term so i don't have to worry about the 10k miles. He did say, try to keep it around 25k miles after 18 months. I said is this normal, he said that the dealership has been doing it ever since it started many years ago.

Please advise, am I being shammed? :confuse:
  • krishnamkrishnam Member Posts: 29
They buy the car at the end of the lease. They will buy it at the market value at the end of the lease. Consider they are offering very high residual to make the lease attractive, IMO I doubt they would want to buy the car at the residual value at the end of the lease.

Your sale price of 40K+ is way to high(after considering the $1k loyalty cash back). There seems to be a dealer cash back of $1k for leases as well. You should negotiate the sale price, 2k below the invoice or atleast 1k below invoice price. This will reduce your monthly payment drastically as compared to your current payments.

The buyback thing is a crapshoot... .maybe they will, maybe they won't.. but, the risk is all on you..

If you know you need 12k or 15K miles/year, then you should contract for it, upfront....

If not, be sure to put that money aside for later...

Sure, it is typical for a car dealer to say ANYTHING to sell a car.

    18 months lease
    12K miles
    0 down (TTL non included)
    $278 a month, taxes included
free car washes, free winter mats and 2 years of free maintenance are included.
Do you guys think it's a good deal?
  • garden54garden54 Member Posts: 27
    what is the MSRP?? TTL??
  • omalamiomalami Member Posts: 4
it is a journey with moonroof so the MSRP was around 38K. The Capitalized cost was around 33K. Paid around $1300 for TTL and acquisition fees. Sorry, I don't have the exact number in front of me. They told me that the best deals were the 18 months lease since the residual was around 80%, which is very high. You can negotiate and 18 months lease and extend it if needed. By the way, if you want real performance, go with the G37. The 25 is on the slow side
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Yes - we do, but only on purchases (not leases).
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
I work at a dealership and you have been misinformed. Your contract is 10k per year...if you do 22k per year - you will owe Infiniti 25 cents per mile - in 18 months that could be $4500.

Now they can buy your car and make an offer that is better than losing $4500, but there is no guarantee...the other poster are right.

PS And the sales price should have been lower... :(

Hello. Today, I went into a NJ Infiniti dealer to negotiate terms on a 2012 G37 AWD Coupe. In the end, I was basically offered the following two deals:

    (1) 2000 due at inception + $369 first payment, 24 month lease term for $369/month. This includes taxes and 12,000 miles, with the option to upgrade to 15,000 miles for an additional $33 dollars a month.

    (2) 3000 due at inception + $339 first payment, 24 month lease term for $339/month. This includes taxes and12,000 miles, with the option to upgrade to 15,000 miles for an additional $33 dollars a month.

The negotiated sales price for both of these deals was $40,250. The MSRP was about $45,000. I do not have a loyalty benefit because I turned in my old Infiniti in 2009 and did not get another at the time.

What type of inception fees should I be paying? I was initially told that the inception fees would total $1548 (plus money down). My impression was this would normally include the first month's payment, but this dealer told me it would not be included.

I was informed these are Labor Day specials that will expire Monday, so any guidance before then would be much appreciated. Thank you!
  • garden54garden54 Member Posts: 27
they will expire Monday....pay nothing down ,,,just the first month payment and pay the $369 including taxes,,if they say no...get up and walk away and they will pull you back to the table. The prices for the G37 are as low as I have ever seen on a lease,,,no decent offer will be turned away and do not pay any inception fees.

I think you can do a little better. I just leased a g37xs sedan for 309 a month in nj. With 1500$ down(bank fee, first month, and DMV fees) 10k mikes. I would try to get them to lower down payment

Thanks to this post from jescobar17, I contacted Perry Infiniti earlier this week and made the following deal for a 2012 G37 w/Premium, Nav, Illuminated Kickplates & Trunk Net/Mat:

    MSRP: $42,055
    Sales Price: $36,881
Gross Cap Cost: $38,038 (incl Acquisition, DMV, and other fees)
    Residual: $32,382
    MF: .00001
    Drive-off: $700
    Base payment: $295 + tax

Picked up the car in Escondido yesterday after working out the deal via email. Dealership was great to work with. Enjoyed the drive back to the LA area in the new car.

I believe they still have some G37's left on this promotion.

    mrvvrroomm,
Your answer is in the last group of posts right above yours. I am going to try to do the same today, good luck!
  • garden54garden54 Member Posts: 27
you should pay no more than $350 monthly including tax and nothing down for the the car you described, with nav and prem pkage for 18 months with an MSRP of $44K or more..............
  • garden54garden54 Member Posts: 27
you paid too much....got a $45K MSRP loaded with 12K yearly for $350 with nothing down and nav, prem pkge ++++
  • mrvvrroommmrvvrroomm Member Posts: 6
I just got home from the dealer.

    MSRP $41625 for '12 G37x w/premium package.

    Residual 78%, MF .0001. I need 15K miles/year

    Minnesota sales tax is 7%.

I made what I thought was a more than generous offer of $365/month, nothing down. The only thing I offered to pay out-of-pocket was the first month's payment.

They said not a chance. I walked away. They were at $440. They won't be calling me, I never even gave him my full name or contact info.

They had 25 of these on their lot. The other Infiniti dealer in the area has 35 of them.
  • steevosteevo Member Posts: 389
I just got home too. Competition Infiniti is CLOSED TODAY. Looks like plenty of cars on the lot. Odds are the promotion is extended or repeated anyway.
  • sewellgsmsewellgsm Member Posts: 775
Sometimes people don't recognize a good thing when it is starting them right in the face...you've seen the National Ad...$2k down + TTL down - gets you $319 (12k miles)...you are putting basically nothing down (every $1000 shifts the payment $60). So, if you were only offering the first payment down - your payment is going up $90 + what about the TTL??

Think about it - a $41k car for $440/month at 15k with nothing down - and you walked? Or drove away in the car you want to replace. You should go back tomorrow and hope Infiniti still is doing the 18 month lease special.
  • steevosteevo Member Posts: 389
Maybe you aren't reading the other posts about deals people have made. Nothing was staring him in the face, good deals like you described are available all the time here. The point was to do even better and get a smoking deal at the end of the promo. Tomorrow is another day there are loads of these cars in stock.
