We've always assumed the base rate for Toyota was .00190. But, we've no evidence of that. We've had other posters quote .00200 as well - it's possible your dealer is marking up the rate.

2016 Highlander XLE AWD lease deal lined up to trade in a 2012 Pilot EX-L:

Invoice at $37463
1)$500 DOWN (covers 1st payment) plus GAP payment down of $595 (TOTAL DUE AT SIGNING $1,095.00)

3)15,000 MILES PER YEAR
4)Payment will be $462.20 for 35 remaining months, MF is .0019, res, is 67% I think, 27,773

ok, wanted to update. I called a local dealer and shopped my deal to them. $440 a moth, 15K per year, 1K down, includes GAP, on a '16 XLE AWD with captains chairs. Using the usual toyota numbers provided here. I am thrilled!!!!!

Good morning,

I've never leased before and I'm looking at a '16 Highlander XLE AWD in Northeast Pa.

3 yrs/36,000

MSRP is 39,715...so far I've gotten them to lower purchase price to 38,995 (and hoping to drop it more)

Dealer told me if I put $3K down, which will include all fees, I'd be looking at $460/month and the residual value at the end would be $27,403.

Just like to get your thoughts and if you need any more info.

A couple of questions:

1. Find out the adjusted cap cost - this will be the selling price plus any taxes and fees you are not paying up front
2. Find out the full breakdown of the $3000 the dealer wants - all fees, taxes, etc. Anything left over will be used as "cap reduction" (aka down payment).

Looking to lease a highlander XLE FWD. In Southern Cal, The dealer told me the current MF is .0020 and residual 67% (Calculated by me off of MSRP) Is this correct?. Seems like .0019 and 69% should be possible. Lease terms are 3year/36miles.

Latest lease deal on Highlanders in Connecticut is $269/month 36 months, $2430 down, MSRP $34640, Capitalized cost of $30802. Lease end purchase value is $24248 (is that the same as the "residual value"?). If my math is right that's at MF of 0.0016 and 70% residual. This is good right?

The $2430 down adds $65-70/mo to the cost of the lease. The down payment money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

I agree with the calculations, but I'd suggest skipping the down payment to have a payment of $335-340/mo before tax.

FWIW, I had a dealer state the .00190 rate to me earlier this year. He said it was Tier 1+ (>720 credit score) and Encore (return customer), but dodgy dealer, so IMO it may just be a Tier 1+ rate. .0022 was stated as the Tier 1 rate.

Also, the Encore program is so ill-defined it's useless to customers. If Toyota doesn't tell customers what it is, and dealers don't, it's just extra dealer profit most of the time, IMO.

That looks like a solid deal.

For every $1000 you roll into the deal, add about $28/mo to the monthly payment.

2016 Highland XLE Lease - SE PA

Hello, we have been shopping for a lease (36/12k) over the past month. Yesterday, one of the dealerships informed us that the residual dropped 2% from September to October (70% to 68%). Is this accurate?
Also, what is the MF for October.

MF is the same, but we haven't yet seen the Q4 residuals from Toyota, so cannot confirm what you've been told.

However, the dealer cannot modify the residual, so no reason not to believe them.

As is, your numbers give me a payment of $365/mo, before tax. If tax is 9%, then $398/mo total.

PA taxes the monthly payment, so I'm not sure I understand the $1055 up front.

And, what is the full breakdown of the $3000 due at signing - is the balance cap reduction?

Trying to evaluate lease for 2016 Highlander LE in Pennsylvania. 36/12. Here are the numbers
MSRP $34,664. Negotiated price $31599. Giving me $1750 for my trade. Car price after trade is $29849. Only fee is doc fee for $135. That brings total to $29984. Residual is $23918. The MF is .00142

My down payment would be $1800, which pays taxes. Lease payment is $248 for 36. How does the deal look?

Pennsylvania taxes the monthly payment; they don't collect the tax up front.

But, relative to msrp, the payment looks good.

2016 XLE and Limited 15k 3 year lease, what's the money factor, residual, and rebates for Rhode Island. Also do you happen to know what Toyota adds to the money factor for B and C tier credit.
