I think I saw one that raised suspicions, but I can't remember the exact numbers. I know the C63 well.

With the way technology advances, I just went with ATT next. Every year in November just roll into a new one. They take your old one back. You are basically zero % financing it. Works for me. I'll probably pick up an X for the wife and I.

Like others said, the X isn't all that more expensive than a capacity 7Plus like we have.

Current models, all models?

I think at the moment we have C43 and C63 sedan, coupe, and cabrio, along with GLC43 and GLC63 normal and "coupe". And then of course the "S" variants" of 63 models.

In the past, there has been C43, C55, C63, the latter as coupe and sedan.

That works for a lot of people, leasing with the ability to upgrade when wanted, or just pay it off and stop. As you say, it is 0% financing.

I usually have a higher model phone, I work in the industry, and I use it a lot. Some of these phones are almost like laptop substitutes, sometimes with similar specs.

I like yellow on cars, though they don't seem to sell and most models don't offer it.

I just saw this 2016 V6 Mustang convertible on a lot as I was driving past, in that color. It is a nice shade, not eye-searing yellow but certainly bright.

The problem of course, is that it has a black interior, a no-no in a convertible for me.

I don't mind that color on a car....I don't like it on a mustard container, Dijon, Honey, Brown, Spicy, Hot Mustard all look more appealing.

Yeah, it wasn't any of those... 3-digits is a dead giveaway I guess. I think it was something odd and a bit older, maybe 320 C. Seemed too low of a number to go with AMG.

iPhone hysteria has subsided. Best Buy said they’ll have plenty to sell tomorrow. Just walk in. They already had the Galaxy.

Might bite the bullet and get a new phone. I’m surprised I haven’t cracked the glass on either of my phones, work or personal. I’m not exactly gentle with them, throwing them in my briefcase, yanking them out. Dropping them untold amounts of times. They both look a little worn, nicked here and there, but intact and operable. Shows the durability of these gadgets.

I suppose it depends on how patient I am with a slow and/or glitchy phone.
I'm seriously considering getting another $19.98 Trac phone at Walmart. Just don't know if I'll ever use it. These big money decisions are tough.
OF....don't blame you. If I didn't travel as much as I do, use my phones for calls, emails, GPS in rental cars, music, podcasts, etc....I'd get one of those, too. If all I wanted it for was to make calls, I could save myself a whole lot of money.

Unfortunately, I've fallen into the majority who depends on the smart phone. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I know my briefcase is a lot lighter as a result. Laptop, smart phone, business cards, a pen and a notebook, I'm good to go!

GG, don't pay any attention to me. Unlike me you live in the 21st century. You have great taste in cars and I'm sure in phones as well.

Some day I'd like a complete parts list of things you would put on a GT. Maybe a passing plane will drop a bag of money.

I've seen TTs in yellow and they are a dramatic statement. Probably attract the attention of every cop for miles.

Yellow on black is one of the few combinations where I don't mind black...but in a convertible? Ford offers a beautiful white leather seat that would be perfect in that vert. I think it's called ceramic. I have that in cloth and spend sleepless nights trying to keep it clean. Just couldn't afford the $5k bump to premium trim.

Won a contest that included a Mustang Pace Car 1979, but it was the 4-cyl turbo not the desirable 8-cylinder. Also it had miles on it like it was a demonstrator the car dealer.

JDRF is one that I donate to regularly. My oldest boy is type 1 diabetic.
He was diagnose 2 weeks after I made a reasonably decent donation to them 13 years ago.
Go figure.
Since then, it is one I donate to fairly regularly.

Yes, 3 digits is the key. No modern AMG cars have had 3 digits. I see the incorrect badges most on early to late 00s era cars. It could have been a C230 or C320. MBs have had the letter before numbers since model year 1994.

That's also about the time AMG changed. One can find older AMGs with three digits - the model name is usually debadged on the old cars, however. Older AMGs are often only cosmetic packages, with no engine mods. The cars with engine mods are quite rare, and have grown in value, Around 1994-95, MB started to have more influence in AMG, owning a stake in it, and the two digit cars were born, I think with the C36/E36 (we only got the former). Around 1998, MB took control of AMG, and the formula has been similar since - engine and cosmetic mods on real AMG cars. Cars can have AMG trim pieces, but aren't considered AMG cars.

I worked on a lot of those. LOL!
Mostly engine swaps because we would get them for little money, because of warped blocks.
Had GM not used that aluminum block, that car probably would have stayed in production far longer.
A couple V-8 swaps got worked in. It's amazing how fast you can twist one of those up with a V-8 in it.

I liked the style of the Vega back in the day. Wasn't well put together but most wern't back then.

The blocks warped? Wow! I knew you couldn't overheat them but I always assumed it was the heads. My 84 Celebity bit the dust when it got hot and the head gasket blew. I think that 2.8 had Aluminium heads on a cast iron block.

Didn't Vegas eventually come with a coolant level gauge so you didn't overheat?

It's right there on the Ford Racing site; I should mention that's just the cost of the parts- to retain the warranty a Ford dealer has to install them, so figure another $1,000 at least. The suspension kit and the exhaust might possibly be enough; what irritates me is having to shell out for the alleged "Performance Package" and still have to throw money at it to make it suitable for HPDE use...

Pretty rare car nowadays. Early Vegas can be fairly attractive (especially the wagon), too bad about the other issues.

They were actually pretty sporty looking. I had a 72 Vega wagon and it was fun.
4 big guys (ok, 3 big guys, one skinny tall guy) piled into this little station wagon with Foreigner blaring from the terrible speakers we salvaged from an old Pontiac Belvedere.
The 4 cylinder eventually had engine problems and it was pulled to install the V-8.
It was the first of several I did. I found out all about trying to fit headers around everything and bought a kit to install the V-8. So many modifications and so much work.
The one thing that was my downfall was being too young and thinking the body/subframe would be able to handle the power of the V-8, without tying the subframe. It did not.

I had a cousin who owned a Vega - a '73, I think. This was in the early 80's. He was always working on it - engine work, aftermarket stereo system, mag wheels, etc. Lots of "cruising" in that car.

Finally ditched it in favor of an early 80's Cutlass.

Lake Chelan is truly beautiful. At night one can look up at the sky and see a zillion stars, too. A natural paradise, it is.

Ping pong table and hot tub included with the rental, as well as WiFi, DirecTV, snow clearance and all utilities paid (2,200 sq. ft. 2 BD 2 BA) for $1,200 a month.

The catch is it's only for an 8-month lease during the off-season. We have to be out on May 15th.

Yeah....I’ve always liked the style of those and the Chevy Monza. I’m sure they weren’t high on anybody’s list of reliable, probably didn’t perform all that well, but they looked good.

This was my 1st new car. 1972 Open Manta. I thought that the black hood over yellow was cool when I was a teenager.

Different subject, a couple of us were talking about Home Theater Systems a little while back.

Cranked up mine last night to watch Wonder Woman in 4K and Dolby Atmos sound. Good movie once you get past the “in your face” ultra feminism tilt to it (no problem with Feminism, but when one of the characters tells the lead that men are not worthy to superior women, you kind of know the tone of the movie).

Not many movies come along that really make you say WOW about your in home set up, but this is one, with Avatar being the other. The look of the movie was stunning, and the sound even more so. Had the feeling of “you are there”. Well worth the purchase if you have the equipment to take advantage of the format.

WWI based and really drove home the idea that the allies would hunker down to take one inch of progress at a time. Then, there was the use of mustard gas, which was horrendous in its own right. I know dramatic license was taken. Still worth a look/listen!

Car news from Charlotte. Hope your son is getting settled, Charlotte is a nice place to live..I moved here in '85.
The Pennzoil Auto Fair is being held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. It is impressive and a lot of fun. It is also held in the Spring. The new car show is held at the Charlotte Convention Center downtown, generally in November. The Blue Lynx stops at the center. They get a good showing. Best to attend on a Thurs evening, or during off hours. Saturday it is packed with people.

I always liked those. The '71 and '72 Vegas with the 4 sp which my GT had was sourced from Opel. The '73 and later had a different transmission. I do remember conversion kits using the Buick 215 V8 which was a pretty good fit and didn't overwhelm the chassis like the Chevy 350 did.

I bought a new Chevy Vega in 1972 in orange as a commuter car (68 miles round trip a day). I know I paid less than $2000 for it. Had a 3 or 4 speed stick - can’t remember which. The ride and handling was pretty bad, but fuel economy was better than average. Suspension was awful. But it was good at getting me back and forth to work for quite awhile.

That reminds me, when I was a kid, the neighbors had a couple late-teenaged sons, and they put a V8 in a Vega. This would have been in the late 80s (I guess the cars rotted slower on the west coast). All I remember is that it was very loud, and seemed to have a hard time taking off without burning rubber - no doubt an issue with the driver. Come to think of it, at the same time, those kids had an early 70s Torino that sat in front of their house, sans engine, for months - I think the city finally made them move it. Very tolerant parents. I remember the dad drove a final run GM squarebody pickup, and the mom had an immaculate ~77 Monte Carlo.

Sounds wonderful. That will give you time to settle in to the new job and check out other areas you might want to live in.

Some day I'd like a complete parts list of things you would put on a GT. Maybe a passing plane will drop a bag of money.
It's right there on the Ford Racing site; I should mention that's just the cost of the parts- to retain the warranty a Ford dealer has to install them, so figure another $1,000 at least. The suspension kit and the exhaust might possibly be enough; what irritates me is having to shell out for the alleged "Performance Package" and still have to throw money at it to make it suitable for HPDE use...
Car news from Charlotte. Hope your son is getting settled, Charlotte is a nice place to live..I moved here in '85.
The Pennzoil Auto Fair is being held at the Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend. It is impressive and a lot of fun. It is also held in the Spring. The new car show is held at the Charlotte Convention Center downtown, generally in November. The Blue Lynx stops at the center. They get a good showing. Best to attend on a Thurs evening, or during off hours. Saturday it is packed with people.

I finally broke down today and bought a new mattress. It's a "Sleepy's Cool Matt Queen Prime". It comes without a box spring but it has an electrically operated head raiser on a stationary steel frame. It has a special "gel" in the foam that keeps the mattress cool. Supposedly, the more you move on the mattress, the cooler it gets. I paid $1187.50 which included the frame, the power adjustable base for the top of the mattress, delivery and set up, and haul away of the old mattress, box spring and frame. I tried out dozens of mattresses at the store and this one was like laying down in a cloud. Since I sleep on my side, I made sure it was comfortable. I've never had a memory foam mattress before, but for $1000.00, it should be OK.

Then I went and bought fitted sheets, pillow cases and top sheets. Delivery is set up for tomorrow between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Maybe I can finally get a good night's sleep.

Whewwww, you had me nervous there. When we tried out a memory foam mattress in the store I was going to take out my set of keys, which are fairly chunky. The saleslady said, no, keep them in your pocket and lie on them. The keys sink into the foam and you don't feel them.

If you can afford memory foam, it is well worth trying.
