What state and tax rate?

Are you paying the taxes up front or including them in the payment? Seems unclear to me.

Does the cap cost include the $3000 incentive?

Base MF this month is .00152; seems silly for the dealer to mark it up such a small amount - you might want to confirm that number.

There may be regional differences, but my dealer here in TX indicated that there are no loyalty incentives on the 5 Series at the moment, unfortunately.

tax rate here in calif is 7.75%.....which is rolled ito my payment.....the 3k rebate is after the negotiated sales price. does this help?

CA taxes the monthly payment; I'm just a few pennies off of the dealer quote.

If you're happy with the selling price, all looks good.

I'm looking to lease a 2017 or 2018 540 xdrive.

Local dealer is offering $1K lease cash on the '18s and is marking the MF up from .00152 to .0017. They are also discounting the 18's by only about 4%.

They claim is there is only about 5% margin in the car and they make no money on financing at .00152. Is this true? Will a 6% discount and .00152MF be a money LOSER for the dealership? Is there "hidden" dealer money that will allow them to offer a better deal that 60/.00152 with 4% discount? Seems that I'm seeing these sorts of deals on this forum all the time. Thanks.

They can "claim" anything they want. You are free to vote with your feet and work with another dealer.

That said, BMW is working hard to clear out the remaining 2017 inventory, so deals on the 2018's may not be as good for the time being.

Don't worry about whether the dealer is making money, or not. Focus on getting a good deal for you, whatever you believe that to be. Prepare to travel to dealers farther away, however, to achieve that.

You have the choice to use the program numbers and incentives when you order the car, or the numbers and incentives when the car arrives.

Cannot mix and match.

Looking to lease a 2018 530e iPerformance. Are the lease rates the same for the 530i and the 530e? Also, since I'm not purchasing I'm not able to claim the federal tax credit. I've read that BMW claims the $4668 federal tax credit and they supposedly pass the credit to me in the form of a reduced payment. However, their website only shows a $40 decrease in the monthly lease payment? $40 x 36 months is only $1440. Where is the extra $3228? Any insight into this?

Well I just left my local dealer and here's what they quoted me on a 2018 540i:
MSRP: $69,805 (includes destination of 995)
- Dealer discount: $2,688
- Lease Cash: $1000
+ $649 doc fee (always high in Florida)
+ $400 misc fees and registration

I'm asking them for another grand off - and they are pushing back. They actually let me walk out!

What are your thoughts?

No.. the lease credit is as stated.. $1000 on the 530i, $2000 on the 530e
BMW does not pass along the federal tax credit, other than the extra $1000.
But, the 530e has the same residual as the gas model, which is rare for an electric/hybrid. Most of them have very low residuals.

The lease credit is lockable.

That's not a very big discount, especially considering the doc fee.
Another $1000-$2000 off at least.

It's hard to negotiate without some leverage. Expand your search to other dealers.

How will the above change for the 15k/year or 18k/year scenarios?

Ask your dealer how miles above 15K are addressed in the residual.

I confirmed with two separate dealers that the "credit" on the 2018 530e is $3,000 dollars. But I can't find any online reference to $3,000 dollars, only $2,000 dollars. Just want to make sure my information is correct.
