I see more of a middle aged vibe in the RAV4, maybe wanting to be young, but not convincing to me. Nice to see Toyota has evolved past the faux floating C-pillar onto the backwards hat roofline (a la Mini Cooper Coupe). Interesting trucky snout on it, still overstyled but not the traditional big mouth bass.

Farmer, might be an older ad. A year or 2 ago she was pregnant (and they referred to it in ads at the time). Last new one I saw she was skinny again.

No, she definitely is pregnant according to the new Camry ad I saw this week, unless she either put on a lot of weight around the middle and has taken to wearing shapeless dresses. I now call her "Expecting Jan" to differentiate from the skinny Jan we all know and love. She's still perkier than a 1950s coffee machine though.

Interior looks good and reminds me of Toyota/Lexus somewhat. Too bad it has that goofy electronic shifter though. I do wonder if it has enough power. They have taken the VW approach of reducing HP numbers in the turbo 4 in order to give a fat torque curve that peaks at very low RPM.

Planning my spring mods on the Mustang now that I'm flush with transporter money. I've got the exhaust settled but now I'm looking at CAIs. This Ford stage 2 performance pack seems to fit my needs. Any thoughts?

You have to look at more than just the peak horsepower and torque numbers; that kit bumps the torque curve up considerably just off idle. Although it's apples and oranges, most of the BMW N55 tunes do the same thing, modest peak gains but substantial off idle and midrange power.

isn't the XT5 already that size? If this is competing with RDX and X3, should probably be no bigger than an equinox.

I think it's smaller than those. I sat in an Equinox when I was buying my ATS and found it as big or bigger than the XT5 loaner I had last year.

It's only 6 miles to work now but there are a couple of twisties and a straight away that I'd like to try. Maybe I can cut my 10 minute ride down to 5.

To her credit, she also called the dealer(Wow!) and they said to just keep adding normal fuel and the light would go out eventually.
She's in the Midwest, so probably not unheard of.
She texted today(ok everything back to normal) that the light went out.
Big relief for me.

Can someone tell me exactly what F-85 is? Never heard of hit but I did have a buddy with an F-85 Olds!

It's E85, not F85. Either way, it's a concoction created by the corn lobby in the midwest (mostly Iowa) that consists of 85% alcohol and 15% petroleum. Engines have to be modified to tolerate that much alcohol and are identified as such with a label in the filler and a yellow filler cap. It's pretty cheap, but the fuel mileage is enough less that it's a wash. When one pulls into a Casey's (they're everywhere) to fill up, one of the pumps is way cheaper than the others, and it's not always apparent why. Sometimes it's not even possible to get real gasoline without paying very very close attention. The alcohol shows up as having high octane, which is only a small piece of the story.

Ethanol (IMNHO) is a put-up job by the farm lobby. It costs much more (environmentally and otherwise) to distill the alcohol from corn than is recovered as fuel, but who's counting? Oh, and making fuel from corn raises the price of corn used for food that could otherwise be exported to the rest of the world to reduce hunger. The hand-wringing bleeding-heart people have to pick their poison. Imagine.

Alcohol kills o-rings that aren't designed to deal with it, absorbs water from the atmosphere and yields lower mileage per gallon. What's not to like?

Just got an email from a company that wants to “brighten up my late night bathroom visits!” It’s a special toilet seat that has fluorescent lighting throughout. Their ad states:

13 beautiful colors light up your toilets
Built-in air freshener leaves bathroom smelling great
Fits EVERY toilet – works in seconds

Now that’s exactly what’s missing in my life - Glowing Toilets.

P.S. “Fits every toilet”, but does it fit every derrière?
