Why put $5000 down on a rental? That money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled.

I’d like to share my deal on a 2018 IS350 F-Sport in Atlanta. I could not have negotiated such a great deal without the learned wisdom of the moderators in this forum. (Numbers rounded to nearest dollar.)

MSRP $ 49,909
Discount -$ 5,989 (12% off msrp)
Lexus Lease Cash -$ 4,000
Negotiated price $ 39,920 (20% of msrp)
Title Service Fee $ 144
Dealer BS Fee $ 599
GA Tax $ 1,294
Cap Cost $ 42,416

The negotiation process was transparent and relatively stress free… until I went into the F&I office. My salesperson and the sales manager were quite clear that I would only make the deal if I received the “buy rate.” Thus, I expected a monthly payment of around $444, plus tax. Once I was in the F&I, the manager quoted me about $510, plus tax. That’s where things “went south.” I calculated he was using a MF of .001 (Equivalent of 2.4% APR.) After a bit of dickering, I packed up my papers, my iPad, and walked out!

I barely drove two miles from the dealership when my salesperson called to tell me that the General Manager wanted to make things right, and that they’d give me a .0001 MF. (That was still more than the .00001 MF I learned in this forum, but after a quick calculation, I made the deal because difference was only $6. The difference may be because I forgot to roll in the tax and my first month's payment. A true “sign and drive” deal. $458 per month.

I am trying to get the 2018 IS 300 F Sport RWD for as close to the $299 a month being offered by Lexus for the regular IS 300. I told the sales guy I'll pay the difference but he is saying there are other "things" that won't make that deal happen and the lowest I can expect is $350 a month for the F Sport.

Can anyone tell me what those things are?

BTW the difference in MSRP is about 2400 from the numbers I can see on their website.

I'd be willing to pay $350 but only if those extra $50 dollars were from MSD( the money we get at the end of the lease I think is what they're called).

Congrats! Looks like you made a good deal. I wouldn't sweat a markup that small.

Looks like they aren't willing to sell you the car for the price that Lexus advertises it. They aren't required to match Lexus ad prices.

What percent off MSRP should I be shooting for?

Hello everyone,

I am looking to sign a lease in Miami, FL for the IS300 F Sport model. The best offer I was able to get so far from three dealers is $399 a month with $500 due at signing for a car with MSRP of $42,734.

Just checked June numbers and it’s the same residual value (51%) and money factor (.00001) as in May with $4,000 lease cash and I also qualify for the $750 graduate credit.

In addition to the $795 acquisition fee, the dealer charges a $799 Doc fee. They seem to be giving me sale price of about 12% off MSRP.

How does this deal look to you? Should I wait for them to call me back at the end of the month?

How far are you willing to travel for a great deal? Tampa-St. Pete? Orlando?

The more dealers you contact, the better your chances are of getting a better deal than the local guys are giving you.
