My dealer offered me a 6 or 7 year warranty on my sport model for $1195 that would run concurrent with the already 3yr. 36k honda warranty. I declined for a few reasons . 1- might not keep car more than 6 years 2- honda reliability 3- 1st 3yr of 6 or 7yr warranty is already covered .
I just traded my 6 year old accord with 67000 miles and all that I ever did to it was oil changes, tire rotations and a battery and cabin filter. Along with the 3 yr 36000 mile warranty it also comes with 5 year 60 K powertrain warranty

None. Hondas are reliable. My 5 year old Accord has had no issues (knock on wood). Save your money.

I've never had issues with the CVT transmission on my Accord. I must have been one of the lucky ones.

You are right, Brian. Was hoping to see 0.9% financing since Toyota has been offering that rate on the new Camry for months now.
It will be interesting to see whether Flex cash will make a come back this quarter on all trims.

For anyone hoping to see better finance offers from Honda, you will be disappointed. The rates have not changed and have been extended until 9/4.
You can check out Honda's website for more info, but here are the details: 1.9% APR for 24-36 months or 2.9% APR for 37-60 months.
Glad I leased a new Acura TLX instead, and so I no longer need to worry about rates on the new Accord....But good luck to everyone who is still hunting for a good deal on the Accord.

This is a bummer. Is the $1000 still available for the EXL 2.0T with nav? My plan is to buy a Touring 2.0T in September when my lease is up, and all things being equal, I think the Touring is worth the price difference over the EXL. But if the Touring costs an extra $1000 on top of the difference in invoice price, the decision gets much tougher.

Can anyone confirm if the $1K dealer cash on the EX-L 2.0T is still valid? After a first round of email price quotes with 5 local dealers (NW Arkansas area), here is the best offer that I've received for an EX-L 2.0T (without navigation):

Your quote was more than 4000 off of msrp, which is good for a Honda Accord imho. Some people might do a little better, but this is already good.
I think documentation fees are capped in California to a very reasonable amount, which is good, because in the many other states fees are 4 to 6 times what they are in California.
Imho avoid all extended warranties on a Honda Accord, even if you are going to keep it for a long time. I owned a 2002 Accord for 8.5 years and c. 90,000 miles and never used my extended warranty even once. Same with my 2008 Accord, etc. They are going to push you hard on this, but keep politely but firmly saying "no thanks" as many times as it takes.
Also turn down "paint protection," "wheel locks," "carpet protectors," etc., etc. Just say you don't want any of them.
Honda is offering financing of 1.9% for three years on the Accord. That's a good rate. If you need 4 or 5 years Honda offers 2.9%, which is still a good rate.

Looks like a good deal - that discount will put you at about $2k below invoice. If there is no trade involved and no unwanted accessories added to the car, looks like a good price for an EXL.

I am bagging out of a lease early that I am way over miles and can ride out for a few more months if I have to. I've been researching for a few weeks on edmunds, and learned a lot about the process. I just wanted to report that the information learned hear was very helpful, although I didn't use all the tactics. I was only interested in the silver or blue, with a newer build date. I only got quotes from 3 (really only 2, the third one didn't want to quote unless I gave up some info). I then offered them a price, ($26,500) and only 1 countered. Ultimately settled on $27,000.

If you need a car now, then work the best deal you can this month. You are right about the finance rates. 2.9% does not seem to apply to the hybrid. What are they offering? 4.9%? Are you a member of a CU (Credit Union)? No need to sign on the dotted line yet. Take your time and do research and reach out to more dealers towards the end of the month. That's my $0.02.

@rsitech - Let me try and break down your deal. From Honda's website, the MSRP for this model is $35,605. Invoice price is $32,629. Hence, your deal is $1911 below invoice before doc fees and the other BS fees (nitro and accessories). So it is not bad, but you could ask for an additional $500 off the sale price, and ask that the BS nitro and accessories be waived. Good luck.

Hybrid inventory is much lower than sedan inventory and in my region most are selling within 30-60 days.

I am in the market for the same vehicle in a different but competitive region, and this strikes me as a good deal if they waive the BS fees. Does the sale price include destination?

DC... Yes, that was including destination. There is very little inventory of hybrids here as well. Maybe the pressure of all the 1.5/2.0Ts sitting on the lot is forcing their hand. And, there are plenty of hybrids en route even if they are attempting to only sell what is on the lot. Good luck!
I know this is a 2018 thread but, seeing as my luck with dealers down in FL not wanting to even go in the 26k range for the EX, I am thinking of getting this used 2017 accord hybrid ex-l. I dont know if the gurus here have any knowledge of price but its listed at 23,488 and Carguru says its 600+ below price. It has 19k miles and 1 owner clean carfax, does anyone have an idea of how much lower this can go? I think this dealer will be like all others and charge 799 dealer fee then some tag fee, but is thinking I can walk out 23k OTD unrealistic? I also remember a finance deal for CPO from Honda for 1.49% but, I can't find it again. Any mods know what it is?

I'm no expert on used car pricing compare similar models and mileage for best deals . I would definitely subtract the dealers 799 doc fee off that CPO price see if dealer bites. . Go down to dealership check out the car , test drive make a offer. maybe at the end of this month dealer may be willing to sell cheaper. You may be able to get a better used car loan from a credit union unless the 1.49% is legit. That wont be beat. My friend has been looking for a cpo/ used Accord Non hybrid the past 3 months in PA, dealers will not budge much off there asking price.

Excellent post @john4546.................. Hybrid Accord pricing favors the dealers right now. Supply and Demand factor . You would need to extend your search out of and into several states if you looking for the best possible deal.
If you look into GA you will see pricing a lot worse than FL. right now with hybrids .

@brian125 thanks for the listings, I was looking at the EX-L because it seemed to be withing my budget and has all the features I want. Safety systems, Android auto, and other things. I was looking at others states and saw a 2017 EX-L hybrid in CT for $21,995 and only 3,600 miles on it. Car fax is clean as well. Leads me to believe I can bring down the price of the one I am looking at to 20-21 flat before taxes and fees.
What do you think of the insight? I got a quote for 25.1 out the door. I don't have a breakdown yet tho
The Insight is a new model just coming out and the prices usually remain high for new arrivals. What trim of Insight are you interested in ? When I asked a few months ago a dealer said it is about the size of a civic but not sure. just make sure to do your research like what is laid out in this great forum. Good luck

Hell, at 24280.23 for the EX I'd fly to NY and drive back down to FL- I can stay with friends in VA and SC to save on hotel driving down. Probably only need to fill up 4-5 times in gas, break in the fresh car with a good road trip, only 1200 miles. Fly up there for less than 150 and I'd still save $1500. Lol

Based on the other EX-Ls I've seen in this thread, I should be able to get to at least a final base price of $28,000. Would it be reasonable to counter-offer at $27,700 on the base price as a starting point for negotiations, or should I aim lower?
This will be my first car purchase and I am super intimidated by the entire process. I sent out feeler emails to 5 dealerships around my area for the 2018 EX-L. MSRP for this trim is $30,845.
The dealerships all simply responded with a single Sale Price. The lowest price I got was $26,560. What are the other fees I should be looking out for? I noticed in other posts people mention a documentation fee? I'm located in California if that makes a difference. Overall it seems like I should be shooting for a # that is lower than the Invoice Price. I think the invoice price for my particular model is $28,300?
This makes it seem like the first email offer they responded with is already a good deal? Am I interpreting things correctly? Appreciate any insight any of you can provide. I apologize if these are dumb questions. Thanks for anyone's help in advance!
I think documentation fees are capped in California to a very reasonable amount, which is good, because in the many other states fees are 4 to 6 times what they are in California.
Imho avoid all extended warranties on a Honda Accord, even if you are going to keep it for a long time. I owned a 2002 Accord for 8.5 years and c. 90,000 miles and never used my extended warranty even once. Same with my 2008 Accord, etc. They are going to push you hard on this, but keep politely but firmly saying "no thanks" as many times as it takes.
Also turn down "paint protection," "wheel locks," "carpet protectors," etc., etc. Just say you don't want any of them.
Honda is offering financing of 1.9% for three years on the Accord. That's a good rate. If you need 4 or 5 years Honda offers 2.9%, which is still a good rate.

Was told they would waive the Nitro and Accessories if I signed on the dotted line. Was told program available now would be valid thru 9.4 (and might get worse: doubtful IMHO!). Plus, the 2.9% finance is not currently available for Hybrid models.

I've been researching for a few weeks on edmunds, and learned a lot about the process. I just wanted to report that the information learned hear was very helpful, although I didn't use all the tactics. I was only interested in the silver or blue, with a newer build date. I only got quotes from 3 (really only 2, the third one didn't want to quote unless I gave up some info). I then offered them a price, ($26,500) and only 1 countered. Ultimately settled on $27,000.
Sport 2.0T, 36mo/15k, So Cal.
Sales price: $27,000
Accessories: $90 (wheel locks)
Doc: $80
Title/Reg/other fees: $436
OTD: $27,685
lease payment with tax: $356

No need to sign on the dotted line yet. Take your time and do research and reach out to more dealers towards the end of the month. That's my $0.02.
From Honda's website, the MSRP for this model is $35,605. Invoice price is $32,629. Hence, your deal is $1911 below invoice before doc fees and the other BS fees (nitro and accessories). So it is not bad, but you could ask for an additional $500 off the sale price, and ask that the BS nitro and accessories be waived. Good luck.
