A couple of follow-up questions: i) is the MF a standard value applied universally to all buyers, or does it change based on the buyer's credit score/history? ii) if I'm doing a custom build with the car expected in about 10 weeks, what happens if the RV and MF from MINI changes in that timespan? Can I lock in the terms at point of order, or swap in to better terms if they are offered before I take delivery of the car?

It's the base MF for top tier credit.
Lower credit tiers have higher money factors.
Also, the dealer can mark up the money factor for extra profit, regardless of credit.

You can lock in terms while your ordered car is being produced.
You can switch to a better program, if available at delivery, but you have to take the whole program.
(and, you need to get this in writing from your dealer, before agreeing to a deal)

I see - you would think that all dealers would have been informed of any shutdowns by now, which is why it's a bit surprising to me that some don't know about it.
