Anybody know how to capture 'streaming video'? Many files that you view on the web are actually downloaded to your PC (windows....), and stored in your 'temp' or other place. I have been able to grab them to save & view later. But I cannot figure out how to save this type of video. IIRC, something I was viewing used Macromedia Flash?

there are no plans to offer it on-line at this time. Maybe after a few issues get out there, they may reconsider. Did you sign up?

I think it will be funny when they look at their initial listing and they see how many will come up as signing up after finding out about it through the "internet or chat room". I guess that'll be us!

I was looking for the choice of "Patti sent us", but had to settle for "Internet or chat room" instead.

I tried it, but it only tells you there are records, it doesn't show all the info unless you order the full report.

Both my Miata and my Forester were hit, and both show there are records, but I can't see the details, not for free any way.

BTW, the link didn't work for me, but I went to the home page. Did the free offer expire?

Maybe if I drop Drive and read it online I'll have room in the mailbox to add Drive Performance.

I'm afraid I'm one of your customers who got a Subaru because I wanted something easy on gas that would get me to the ski hill that'll crank every time.

Performance to me isn't an extra few seconds off zero to sixty but an extra few days of my life that I don't have to sit around on the side of the road getting something fixed. (I'm assuming that "Performance" in the new mag leans more toward the former).

The US Ski Team bright blue '04 Outback parked at the hill does look awfully nice, and it probably really scoots with all those stickers on it :-). And it's probably a 5 speed... sigh.

(The real reason I got a Suby was because of you & the rest of the gang here!)

Maybe it expired. I got to see everything about my old car.

if I should check "internet or chat room" or "from a friend". I think I checked "other". :-O

Should have checked referred by a friend or relative. After all, we were referred by Aunt Patti. :-)

On second thought, maybe that should be Cousin Patti. :-O

It should be Mama Patti, she is going to be a mother-in-law after all, and perhaps grandmother (Grandma Patti?) after that!

I'm gone from the boards a few days and what do I find? As many posts as there are Subies in Florida! It'll take me a while to get thru them...but I did sign up for the new magazine...yippee!
Not a great weekend for Susan; she had her chemo on Friday...#3, so she's halfway done (another big YIPPEE!), but one of the side effects is constipation; she was in no mood to celebrate Michael's birthday on Sunday, he turned 14 (already?!); he was a bit down, but understanding; we promised him a celebration next weekend when her white blood counts are higher. He did get a new skateboard and helmet though, and an incredible rich chocolate fudge cake from the local Italian bakery, so it wasn't a complete loss.
Anyway, back to slogging thru the posts.

    Serge: just 4 posts? ;-)

Tell Susan to hang in there. My step-aunt just finished her last chemo sessions and she's in good spirits. My cousin flew down to Ecuador to help get her through and jump start her mood after it was complete. She's doing great, I wish the same for Susan.

I actually see the same 3 or 4 WRXs in town everyday...plus the school parking lot has another 2 besides mine. that makes at least 7, plus Susan's and Don's (Don, are you out there?)...actually, at the last Subie Caravan, the were 15 or 20 cars riding thru downtown Ft. Lauderdale.
  • ateixeiraateixeira Member Posts: 72,587
Yeah, that might have been true before all the turbos arrived. Subaru really has drawn in new customers with those.

This in Mods as well, has Imagestation changed the format? you used to be able to bring up a picture from an album, you got a URL that ended in JPG.ORIG JPG. if you deleted ORIGJPG from the URL you could post a photo.

The URL that is coming up now is different, Brian and other experienced posters how do I get around this?

      Cheers Pat.
  • locke2clocke2c Member Posts: 5,038
I haven't found a way. You do have to post the generic imagestation "click here to view my album" thingy and they do have to be a member.

I guess I'm not surprised they finally closed that hole.

here's the url for that pic: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid45/pa7429227f2330b04c914- b4a60f69b0a6/fcd21665.jpg

Not sure what is going on, it works fine for me on both IE and Netscape/Mozilla, with IE having autosign-in and Mozilla not having autosign-in.

maybe it a restriction on new pictures, or pictures that are only in the storage bin and not an album?

  • subearusubearu Member Posts: 3,613
Looks like their url's have changed a bit. Here's the main pic from my main autoshow album: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4287714613

The url is below, notice the imbedded url now:
    http://www.imagestation.com/mypictures/inbox/view.html?id=4188352- 037&url=http%3A//www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid103/p4de42- 534248751131a30bbb5004a2354/f9a52e25.jpg&caption=The color of the day - GREEN&album_id=4287714613&from_album=1

Here's the picture part of the url, note you need to correct the http:// part: http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid103/p4de42534248751131a3- 0bbb5004a2354/f9a52e25.jpg

    and finally, the imbedded image:

Hey, I think I just made my first sale! Talked a friend into buying an 04 LL Bean. An assist goes to Loosh because I passed along the price his parents paid and my friend is getting the same deal (from FitzMall). So where is it again that I apply for my commission? ;-)

Brian: any helicopters land there recently? ;-)

Imagine that same drive on an incline, that's the size of mine. Maybe one car length longer.

Frank: set up the purchase. If you want e-mail me and I'll give you the name of my salesman, he's great. He'll pay a $50 referral fee.

What happened here? did anybody test the software...my ID is back to"1subydown1togo" which was my ID almost 2 years ago; the messages to read and subscriptions listed are very old, and it seems to be a real overall mess.
  • fibber2fibber2 Member Posts: 3,786
    I have my own variation:

"In cyberspace, nobody can hear you scream"

That was me last night, locked out of the chat by the new sign-in software. I guess I don't have the right encryption strength on my ancient laptop (P-I 133mhz / windows98se / AOL 5.0), and couldn't get in. I could see you all and what you were saying, but you couldn't hear me banging frantically on the glass! I went to the help desk, but sysops couldn't let me in. Paul Hammersley dropped by and hopefully conveyed my regards, but until I buy a new pc for home (or use my work laptop thru the company link), I might no longer be chat-worthy.

the problem is one of having my 2-year-old ID; I know have to reregister under my current ID (lilbluewgn02) and recreate my subscription list...my email is also now tied to the old ID
