Hello all, first post. I’m in the market for a 2019 Accord Sport 2.0t. Numbers from the first buyers order that I have received from a dealer are as follows.

    Price of the car 26,497.00
    Freight 920.00
    Md processing 300.00
    Md 6% taxes 1,663.02
    Md tags (2 years) 279.00

    OTD price: 29,659.02

From reading the forum, I know I should assume the numbers should be more flexible towards the end of the month. But this seems a bit below the MSRP already. Is this a good deal? My apologies if I’m missing information. And thank you in advance.

You are at about $1500 below invoice before dealer doc fees. Not a bad deal.

Btw, minor discrepancy in your freight /destination fee. When you listed out the MSRP, you put down $930. However, when you listed the sale price you posted $920.

This is what I got for the 2019 Honda Accord EX.
    MSRP: 28,550

    Splash Guard: 229.00
    Tax: 1,851.50
    Dealer Fee: 599.00

Is this a good price? I am in GA and all dealers charge high dealer fee.

Here is the deal I got for a 2019 Honda Accord EX-L 1.5T on August 26 in New Jersey:
    MSRP: $31,050 (includes destination charge)
    Price: $25,703.29
Doc Fee: $549 (this is taxable in NJ)
    Tax: $1,739.21
    Tire Tax: $7.50
MV Fees: $301 (4 year registration and title lien)
    Total OTD $28,300

I qualified for the $750 Honda loyalty dealer cash. In addition I was able to get the $500 new college graduate applied towards the Honda Financing down payment. That brought the OTD price down to $27,800. Honda Financing was 36 months at 1.9% APR. This was a simple purchase deal with no trade in.

That is a great price for a 2019 EX-L. Was this a brand new car or a dealer demo or loaner? What is the location?

I live in the NYC Long Island Area and went to a local dealer to get a price on a 2019 EX-L 1.5T

The "best price" they could give me on a 2019 EX-L was nearly 28900 before TTL. They claimed that is the invoice price for the car which I know is not true.

I have other quotes online ranging from 27,500 to 28300 before TTL.

The 27,500 included the accord loyalty rebate.

According to Edmunds, the loyalty rebate is 750.

At the dealer today, they said the 750 is only if leasing. If financing it is 500. I do intend on financing via Honda to get the promo rate.

I countered their 28900 with 27000 and was told it was impossible. I left and the salesman didn't even want my phone number to follow up.

So my big question is how do you get them below invoice? I have seen people here who have reported getting at least $5000 off the MSRP.

First, your biggest mistake was walking into the dealership and trying to negotiate in person. You should do all negotiations via email or phone. Only walk into the dealership to inspect the car and sign the paperwork.

Reach out to as many dealerships as possible. If Honda dealers in Long Island do not want to play ball, then expand your search radius. Pricing is based on a lot of factors such as supply and demand, time of the month or time of the year you are looking to buy, and location.

There is a lot of useful information on this thread about negotiating pricing and getting the best deal possible. It takes time and research to land a good deal.

    Good luck.

There seems to be a large availability of 2019 EX-L 1.5T inventory at Long Island dealerships. It is surprising they are not willing to negotiate. I suggest you get internet quotes from several dealers starting on the 25th or 26th of this month. Some New York car dealers are open on Sunday so you want to start the quoting process 3-4 days before the last day sales day of the month. Honda may offer additional dealer cash before September 30th., so don't give up. The doc fee in New York is capped at $75. Your offer of $27,000 was actually generous in my opinion.

    Hello,

Hoping you guys can analyze my current deal for a 2019 Honda Accord 1.5. I live in SoCal Los Angeles area with about 4-5 dealerships i'm willing to deal with.

    MSRP: $27,110
    Invoice: $24,883

The deal i was offered was:

    Car Price: $23,245
    Sales Tax: (9.5%) = $2,208.28
    Doc Fee = $85
    Registration Fees = $395.00

    Total OTD = $25,933.28

What do you guys think? I've been through this sub for the last 2 months and have seen the Accord go for a little lower in other states, however, have not seen any posts for sales in SoCal. After contacting multiple dealerships in the area, it's tough to negotiate down to $25,000-$25,500 range. Maybe its because LA is high in population and the Accord is still going strong here. I've contacted the other dealerships in the area and the next lowest i've received was $26,300 OTD.

    Appreciate any input.

    Thank you,

Just purchased a 2019 Honda Accord EX-L 1.5L in Laurel, MD (20724), $28000 OTD. No extra trim package. 45 miles on the odometer. Probably could've bargained down a bit more by playing the dealer game. The one thing that concerns me though is that I paid in cash, and there wasn't an incentive offered for that... probably showed my hand too early though when they asked about financing. :-/

    Input for 2019 Accord EX-L
I'd appreciate input. We currently have a 2006 Camry, 2010 accessible Odyssey, & 2002 Odyssey. Yes, we keep our vehicles a long time. Wanting Accord EX-L in a specific exterior/interior color. I know I can get accessories less expensive than dealer's prices. I also know when it says no charge, they are playing with the numbers. This will be a cash deal. After the numbers are agreed upon, we are hoping we can trade in the 02 Odyssey--we have not told them yet, as we want new car price decided first. The 02 has 260k miles, a/c has died, left passenger door doesn't close well (is closed now, we don't open it), battery is draining (mechanic thinks it has to do with the door); so I have no idea what we will get for this vehicle.

#1 has no add-ons & 750. loyalty not included yet. It is 1 hr away
#2 has 897. of add -ons they are saying can't be removed. They redid the figures & increased discount by 897. Is saying 750. loyalty was included in figures. It is 1 1/2 hrs away.
#3 is including 4 accessory items at no charge. Is saying the 750. loyalty is factored in figures. This is the dealer we want to go with, as it is 20 mins away.
GATAVT is one time sales tax fee in GA.
Suggestions please. Do we send the other quotes to dealer #3? How do the figures look?

Hi everyone. I was wondering if I could get some input on the below deal.

    Model Year: 2019
Date of possible purchase (Month, Day, Year):09/30/2019
    1.5T or 2.0T engine: 2.0T
Trim (i.e. LX, Sport, EX, EX-L, Touring, Hybrid, VP.... etc.): Touring
Automatic, CVT, or Manual transmission: 10 speed auto
Price before Tax Title License (TTL): $32883
Price Out The Door (OTD): $34000
Add ons: Protection package (All-season floor mats, rear splash guards, trunk tray), Illuminated door sill trim, Wheel locks. Tint.

    Where: Tampa FL.

I am getting the price quote above on a 2019 2.0T Touring. The above deal comes with the protection package that includes tint. The package is a non negotiable package. Does $34000 out the door sound good for a 2019 2.0T touring considering the 2020s are about to hit the dealer lots?

    Thank you for your time!

First of all, you can do better. This is not a terrible deal but you should shop around. What are the dealer doc fees? $799? Are there any incentives included in the price?

Everything is negotiable. Whoever told you otherwise is either a sales guy or not being honest. What is the cost of the add-ons? If you don't know, ask the dealer. If they are not been transparent then move on. If you want a car without any add-ons, either mention it to this dealer or look somewhere else.

If you are not in a rush to buy a 2019 model, then wait for 2020s.

    Good luck.

Just bought my new 2019 Accord EX yesterday. If you are looking to get a deal on 2019 model, this can serve as a reference. Here are the details.

    Model Year: 2019
Date of possible purchase (Month, Day, Year):10/12/2019
    1.5T or 2.0T engine: 1.5T
    Trim: EX
Price before Tax Title License (TTL): $23700
    Tax: 5%
    Documentation fee: $180
    OTD (including reg): $25370
    Add ons: splash guards

    Location: Iowa

    APR 3.09% for 48 months

I feel that I could get a few hundred bucks down if I waited until the end of month. But I had a small accident two weeks ago, so I don't want to wait another two weeks. Is it a decent deal?

You should be able to purchase Honda Care direct from a dealership for significantly less. I bought mine from Saccucci Honda but there are others that sell them as well. Research this before pulling the trigger.

I've been gathering offers from my local RI/MA Honda dealers. Most have been between +/- $250 of $32K I guess the market price is pretty spot on. I was hoping for some steeper discounts with 2020's arriving and 2019s being closed out. Would $30.5K be a reasonable price to get? I hope to make a purchase anytime between now and year end.

I really appreciated all the information folks shared on this site. I purchased a 2019 sport 2.0 with six speed manual transmission on Sept 27. Price for vehicle was $27,400 with a $599 conveyance fee and $299 for etching the vin into the windows, which I saw as a scam but I was getting an excellent price on the trade in so I chose not to quibble. Taxes in my part of NY are 8.375%, and they dropped the registration fee when I agreed to do it myself, cutting another $500 off the transaction.

Got an offer on a new 2018 Accord Hybrid Touring. Is this a good enough deal to justify buying a 2018 vs a 2019? I was originally going to go for a 2019 Hybrid EX-L for $32213 OTD but for a few more hundred bucks I can get into a Touring.

    MSRP: 35605
    Sale price: 30160
    Discount: 5445
    Tax 7%: 2111
    Doc: 445
    Reg: 170
    OTD: 32886

Please let me know if this is a good deal. I am in the Atlanta area

    Make/Model: Honda Accord Trim: LX
    MSRP:
    Offered price = $20,250
Dealer Doc fee = $699 (it is always this high in Atlanta)
    Nitrogen: $99
    Films/Tint: $300

    The films/tint is optional.

This is the price w/o TTL.

Is this a good price, considering that 2019 is an end-of-the-year. Most of the dealers in the area are in this price range.

    Thanks.

This deal is $2390 below invoice price minus the $699 doc fee. That's if dest/ charge was included in the 20,250 price.

Since all your area dealers are in this price range and your not willing to travel out of state make your best deal at months end. I would try to take back dealers $699 doc fee charge.

Target price = $19,551 plus tax & tags

Yes, the quotes include dest fee.

I was able to get several other quotes and another lower quote for the 2019 Accord LX -
    Price: $19140
Add ons: $795 (Nitrogen, wheel locks, trunk tray, splash guards) -- cannot take out.
    Doc fee: $699.
So the actual price now comes to $19839 + $795 for the addons + TTL.

I agree waiting for end of month would shave a couple more dollars off.

    Thanks.

That dealers add on package of $795 cost dealer $200 dollars.

If this dealer wants to move this vehicle at months end below target pricing is where you hammer them for a immediate sale on that day !!... Minus $595 off add on pck & minus dealers 699 doc.... Or find another LX without add on pack work on taking all area's dealers doc fee back last 2 days, last day this month

    Date of purchase: 10/19/19
Model Year: 2018 new with 30mi on odo
Date Purchased (Month, Day, Year): Oct 19, 2019
    Hybrid engine
    Trim: Touring
    CVT transmission
    MSRP: $35605
Price before Tax Title License (TTL): $29900
Price Out The Door (OTD): $32442
    Doc Fee: $449
    Tax: $2093
    Miscellaneous add-ons/extras: None
Your country, state and city location: US/RI

Internet sale price was $30160. I told the salesman I'll sign today if you can sell it for $29000. He didn't budge. After some back and forth they only were able to take it down to $29900. I probably could have gotten away with asking for some all weather floor mats thrown in but after spending 4+hrs there I was ready to just get the deal done and go home.

Great deal, What dealer did you get this deal from? Best I could do is 33,500 OTD.

So I was offered 2019 Accord Sport 1.5 CVT
    MSRP $27,110.00
    DISCOUNT $4,676.20
    INTERNET PRICE (WITH DESTINATION) $22,433.80
    LIFETIME POWERTRAIN WARRANTY ***INCLUDED***
TOTAL DRIVE OUT PRICE (INCLUDES FEES AND GA SALES TAX). $26,380.00

Seem high, I believe GA sales tax is 6.5%. dealer fee is usually high here in GA, I've seen it usually above 500. I'm thinking my OTD price should be around 24K, do you guys think this is doable?

Something is really wrong with that quote. How did they get from an internet price of $22,433 to a OTD price of $26,380 with a sales tax of 6.5%? They gave you a nice discount from MSRP and then somehow took much of it back.
  • HotcarzatlHotcarzatl Member Posts: 5
    @Goshiney

Dealer and doc fees is probably about 1k. I estimate taxes would around 1.5k = a little under 25k OTD or should a good deal be within 24K?

On a side note, if I were to get a Sport 2.0 instead of this 1.5. What OTD pricing do you think is a good deal?

    Thanks,

This was at Honda Village in MA. I believe they still have a 2018 Hybrid Touring in stock.

That's high. I know someone who got the same car with leather for $26,300 OTD.

@mikesc, I didn't know Sport came with leather. Which dealership and how much did they paid OTD?

It was a friend who just bought one. They got him in the dealership with an agreed price, then found out the car had other options they didn't want to pay for and they wound up buying a different Sport 1.5 T with CVT that happened to have leather. I didn't know it was an option either. He said it was $26,300 OTD. It was Honda of McKinney Texas.

Leather in the Sport is a dealer installed accessory. Probably ran $1500-2000, depending on the brand and quality of the work.

Hi all, new to this community. Anyone have a price they paid OTD for a base trim Honda accord hybrid?

First, your biggest mistake was walking into the dealership and trying to negotiate in person. You should do all negotiations via email or phone. Only walk into the dealership to inspect the car and sign the paperwork.

Reach out to as many dealerships as possible. If Honda dealers in Long Island do not want to play ball, then expand your search radius. Pricing is based on a lot of factors such as supply and demand, time of the month or time of the year you are looking to buy, and location.

Hi everyone, first post here. I'm in the market for a 2019/2020 Accord EX-L in Southern California. This purchasing thread has been very helpful to me. I'll be sure to contribute with my own pricing data whenever my purchase occurs.

I wanted to ask about this piece of advice quoted above. I've seen a lot of people say that all negotiation should be done online. I've reached out to about ten dealers in the area and I've gotten very lukewarm or nonsensical quotes, if I could get one at all. I tried emailing a few back to see if they could beat the lowest one and they refused to negotiate. Visited one in person, stating that lowest quote, and they simply dismissed it as misleading, then refused to budge from their very high internet quote. Basically I'm getting zero success from internet car shopping, which is the exact opposite of what others seem to be reporting. Any ideas on what might be going on?

    Thanks!
