    I had a bad experience dealing with 3rd party bank. I leased a 2015 Highlander through a credit union. When I went to return it, they used an appraisal firm and found $2400 of excess wear and tear. I had never had a lease end with excess wear and tear before. They said that the tires were too worn by 1/8", the normal scratches that exist on a bumper from idiots bumping you parking lots were "too wide", the manual was missing, small chip in the front windshield from as pebble on the highway, etc. I ended up paying $2000 to get them off my back.

    I also have an 2018 Highlander XLE coming off lease (1 payment left), so I'm starting to shop around. I just received an "offer" of $602/mo, with first month down on a 21 XLE AWD. MSRP 44221, Cap Cost was just over $45,000 after acquisition and doc fee. Basically, they wanted to lease me the car at sticker (and pocketing the lease cash, bonus cash, and $500 loyalty I have). I looked at it and walked out, no need to say anything else after that. They must really be looking for a sucker.
