I think that BMW was able to avoid the emissions scandals of the day, so perhaps the systems are reasonably reliable. I'd be concerned about intake buildup due to the EGR, but, beyond that, it should be a pretty solid car.

It's not an M Sport. Its a Sport Line which gets the sport seats and a different steering wheel. But no M Sport front fascia, wheels, or steering wheel.

So what do you think of it? Am I crazy? Wait... scratch that... is it worth what I think its worth? Or, at least potentially, if it is as good as it looks? The sport seats definitely seem to be a rarity with the diesel from what I've found.

The people who like BMW diesels REALLY like BMW diesels. The 524td owners back in the '80s were almost a cult. I know some diesels had issues but I think the 328td motor is pretty stout; my SA loves them.

Car and driver had their 40k mile long term test recap this month on an M3. Best spec, base RWD with a manual. They really liked it other than light steering. And man it eats expensive tires.

@qbrozen - Obviously just 1 data point. A friend of mine had a 2013 328d. I don't remeber the exact mileage (between 120K & 140K), the injectors went bad. It was quite a large repair bill. He actually argued with BMW and they eventually came around and paid him back for the repair. Something for you to look into.

Apparently I pondered too long. It is gone. Sat there for like a week and of course the night I go to make an offer, POOF.

Ah well.

Came close to buying a CTS 2.0T AWD yesterday, too. Gold on tan (old man combo) with I think it was 68k miles on a 2015. Went for like $400 over my self-imposed max. The problem on so many of these is the shipping. I go for the no-rust cars, so getting them to NJ is typically pricey and forced me to keep my bids hundreds lower than they would be otherwise.

I suppose some Cadillacs technically exceeded that.
For example, the 2010 DTS had a starting MSRP of $47k, which would be $65k in today's dollars.

It is a gorgeous Friday here in my area of the country. I fired up my Prelude and drove into work. One thing it does incredibly well is the way it just effortlessly it changes lanes. So smooth and stable.

Got tempted today. Honda dealer sent out list of lease specials. A $46k ridge line RTL-E for $437 month. No down payment. Just add tax and dmv fees and $595 inception amount.

Floated idea to the wife to get that, sell the RDX if still getting crazy money at carmax, get the maverick and trade that in for a small sport sedan. Seems like wins all around

Will need a few glasses of wine (for her) tonight before floating it again.

You could always hire some kid or old retiree to drive them up to you.

Actually not a bad lease on the Ridgeline.

FWIW I find this a completely fair and reasonable plan. It has my full endorsement.

I get lease "specials" all the time from my Acura dealer but they still insist on MSRP, with a healthy inventory of cars on the ground no less. If they would move off MSRP on an MDX and incentives increased even slightly it would be cheaper to lease than an RDX, mainly due to the MF.

That’s a lot of moving parts for what amounts to swapping the RDX for a small sport sedan.

They pushed it back today. Original estimate was 4/30-5/13. Now 5/8-5/21

Shipped day per them was 4/15

from reading the forums, it varies considerably. and can sit at the terminal waiting for a truck to the dealer for a long time. But a month to get from Mexico to PA seems excessive.

Carvana seems to be selling a lot of their maverick lariats. 3-4 in progress at a time and they are down from a high of about 36 to 23 with 3 pending.

Not my old one. For some reason still have that. Have come down on asking price $4k. Still 1k more than I got for it. But pretty sure I made the right decision selling it when I did. Even though I spends $50 renting a uhaul to drag home bags of dirt (actually a lot easier loading it in one of these instead of any pickup)

I hate doing that and avoid whenever possible. For stick’s amount, I think it is the right decision. Better than having to shovel it off your driveway into a wheelbarrow. It is like double the work and then cleanup too.
