Ah, the German Autobahn. Been there, done that. We could never get more than 70mph out of our small Army jeeps. We were passed by everything including the VW Bugs. We were in a German Mercedes taxi on the Autobahn and watched its speedometer climb and climb. After we returned to the barracks, we converted the kilometers per hour we saw on the taxi's speedometer to miles per hour. We were going 108 miles per hour.
The car I posted is a Lincoln Continental. I think it's a Black Label trim based on the wheels.
I thought it was a Continental but wasn't sure. When Ford switched the rear doors to being hinged at the B-post instead of being suicide-style as on the prototypes they showed, it kind of destroyed the cachet of the model.
My friend with the CT6 also has a thing for those Continentals. He's growing less thrilled with the CT6 over time, I wonder if he would be more enthused about the Lincoln.
Re: towing in Germany, people there will tow anything with anything. To be fair, those little trailers are pretty light.
On the Autobahn, no fewer than 4 MB W114/115s, 2 Peugeot 504s, and what looks like another Toyota Mark II up front. I think an Audi 100 towing a trailer behind the BMW - the USDM 5000. I think the MB W116 in the pic was the king of the road - notice it is a single mirror car, for less wind resistance.
C4 up front, in that very common blue. Silver Ford sedan, looks too fancy for a Granada. Could it be a Lincoln Versaille? a Horizon TC3 behind that (unless in it an Omni)
I think the white low car far left is an 85 vintage Celica.
Not sure if I posted this years ago or not but a search turned up nothing. My hometown, Halifax, in Centennial year 1967 observing the Canadian Navy fleet in the harbor. That view would be very different today.
The 2024 Morgan Super3 is powered by a Ford V-twin gasser.
Interesting! Checked out a review, sounds like fun, but would be tough to wrangle my body in there. You had me going with the engine, turns out "The Ford three-cylinder makes 118 eager horsepower with 111 lb-ft of torque, more than enough to launch the 1400-pound Super 3 off the line and out of a corner. The Mazda-Miata five-speed manual feels short, precise, and engaging."
So it's that tiny Ford engine (they put a 1.0 L block in a carry on to show how small it is), the 1.5L non-turbo version.
I think the pic I posted was taken by someone standing either at the top of the hill or on the garrison wall that surrounds the fort, so you have a different angle. You can see the roadway the cars in my pic are driving along to the right in this modern pic:
When they first came out Car and Driver’s introductory article was very positive, talking about all the advanced weight saving engineering in the car. Of course, anything would be advanced compared to the Granada/Maverick/Falcon. I’ve always liked how they look.

Yeah it popped up in a bunch of MB and old car groups lately.
Date estimation is via a couple of Audis, I think I see a C2 100 and a B2 80.

I got one of those Continentals as a loaner car a couple of years ago. I wasn’t impressed, it was fine, not special.

What? No one called the Vette! Or the Jeep behind it.
Opps, didn’t recognize the term “C4” as a Corvette.

There is a BL vehicle of some sort, and likely a Fiat, in that picture as well.
