    MDX third row is for kids only. Pretty tight. Needs recall done and needs timing belt each 109k-ish miles. There are some torque converter issues in earlier ones and it feels like you are driving over rumble strips.

    @mjfloyd1 - it’s funny they used that as an example, because I’ve heard that bacon is the #1 thing that causes people to abandon a vegetarian diet.

    I know it would me! But I’m the guy that used to like his bacon with a side of bacon. This was pre-cholesterol issues. :neutral:

    That’s an Acura, right? Hardly a car for the price conscious. How about a 3 row domestic like a Chevy Traverse?

    They are looking at those too. I suggested the GMC Acadia and the Buick Enclave. But I was surprised to find that used MDXes are not that expensive. All kind of in the same ballpark — mid 20’s for a 5 year old or so vehicle.

    Hard to beat an Odyssey as a family hauler. We also liked our Kia Sedona that followed our Odyssey.

    They’ll check that out too. I think they are still coming to grips with the fact they are arriving at the minivan years.

    I don't trust the 3.6 as the miles get up there, especially without knowing the maintenance history (oil changes).

    I neglected to mention that all the pigs on the hauler during the accident were killed in the accident. The sign probably makes a bit more sense now😵‍💫

    I have purchased 3 different 3 row SUVs since 2011 and WISH I had bought a minivan. The 2011 Pilot was ok. I should have bought a Sienna V6 AWD in 2017 when it was time to get rid of the 2011 Pilot. I didn't realize how well built Toyotas are.

    Whatever they are looking at, make sure they get it checked out by a mechanic 1st. Do their research. If they are looking at a vehicle that is priced well below market, there's a reason for it. I think @explorerx4 recommended https://carcomplaints.com/ at one time. It is a very informative website that mentions which cars have specific problems for specific years.

    Thought about that one all weekend. I remembered the computer for the GPS and Stereo are under the driver's seat. Wiring to and from is there, too. Yeah, the engine may run, and they say runs and drives, but they don't say how far.

    Restoring that is way above my knowledge level. Although, it does look in good shape.

    I helped a friend restore an early oughts Infiniti G with flood damage. Looked great. Cost more to fix than what it would have been worth with a clean title (which it did not have). I don't think he ever got it running 100% right and ended up parting it out for a pretty big loss.

    Which is why we only had one kid- so we could definitely live without one. I think my wife hated them more than I did- another reason she's a keeper.

    That’s an interesting take that I hadn’t really thought of before but which makes some sense to me. Your last sentence is what made it hit me. Those vehicles help the image of being a manly man even if you’re a wuss. The minivan must have the opposite effect for some and feels threatening to them.

    For years now I’ve seen almost as many women driving pickups as men. I’m sure sitting up high is what they like most, at least that’s what I’ve heard. Sadly some of those women aren’t what you’d call dainty and they probably wouldn’t want to be seen dead in a mini van anymore than some men. I wouldn’t want to mess with those but they’re out there.

    Here’s my take on it … many don’t want the stigma of a minivan, but drive something like an Enclave (Highlander/Pilot etc) which for all intents and purposes is a minivan without sliding doors (and slightly less interior room).

    My wife and I were 100% guilty of this. I used to call our Enclave(s) a van and my wife didn’t like it one bit!

    When I'm not thinking, I call my wife's Forester her truck. She doesn't like that either.

    Exactly. If you cross shopped the previous generation Pilot and Odyssey, this was very apparent.

    I took a look at this lightly used M2 a few weeks ago. Contrary to popular opinion, I’m okay with the design and I like this color in particular.

    What struck me was how overpriced it was at the time. Apparently I’m not the only one…it’s gone through a couple of price reductions since then to the tune of about $9,000.

    I also hate the tacked-on Amazon tablet masquerading as an instrument panel and the fact that it only weighs 123 pounds less than my C43.

    BMW missed the mark. The previous F87-gen M2 had a personality all its own while still feeling like a member of the M family. This new G87 M2 is just an M4 in a different wrapper. And if you didn't like the M4's nostrils, I doubt this cubism-meets-machine design will excite you. The M2 performs admirably, it's plenty capable, and I'm sure it will put down impressive lap times, but I'm old enough to remember when M cars did more than just generate great numbers. They felt the fastest without actually being the fastest. The previous M2 had that magic and will be missed. Also, ditch the massive touchscreen. It's a distraction in what's supposed to be a driver-focused car. —K.C. Colwell

    I still keep an eye out on the manual F87 CS. They’re still in the eighties price wise. Good value? Tough to say. Compared to a manual 911? Maybe it starts to look a little better.

    I just got one of those personalized pre printed hand written solicitations from my Ford dealer. They say they have a customer specifically interested in my Mustang and will give me top dollar for it.

    Now I wonder how this customer found out about my car?😂😂😂

    Seriously though, I realize that this is a mass mailer but it’s refreshing to see dealers doing actual marketing again instead of waiting for customers to crawl in begging to pay MSRP.

    It could have been one of the many lurkers we have in here. I’ll bet there are many more of those than members.

    I seem to remember a dealer/manufacturer bopped in on one of these boards a few years ago to answer a question that a member posed about a particular model.
