When I asked back, it is the response from my dealer : Please print out what you got on line from Audi so I can show Audi financing and make sure it is for the Q5 3.0 2015.

And when I asked further, the dealer said MF is 2.46/ RV 60% for 36 mo/10K and 2.77/53% for 48 mo. Is that the right numbers? I have top tier 1 credit scores and I reside in California.

Looks like a huge mark-up in the money factor.... Base MF is .00146 for 36 months, and it looks like they are charging you .00246.

Because I get $561/mo.+tax and they are charging $640/mo.+tax.. The residual is real strong on this model, but the base money factor is already sort of high.... they are adding .0010 to the base money factor and that adds $80/mo.+tax to your payment.

That's assuming you qualify for Top Tier credit.. If you can get the base money factor, I would certainly lease, rather than buy.

Is there any regulation they can't mark up this much different ? I know my credit scores above 800. If they try to rip me off from leasing, I'd rather buy. Or am I lost in translation somewhere ? (When I mention your quote, the dealer replied like this : This is not from Audi and we have to submit it to Audi and see what they say about this rate quote from Edmunds. I don’t think Edmund do Financing. I will look into it for you.) (Is he trustworthy to do business? At all ?) I just have $1000 deposit now held by my credit card, I can quit if they try to rip me off.

Just tell him that you know the base rate is .00146.. that the guy on Edmunds said so. "If you are marking up the base rate, tell me now, because if I find out that you are, we won't do the deal, anyway".

I don't have a lot of patience for dealers that aren't upfront with the numbers. I'm not taking a marked up rate, but I can at least respect a dealer that tells the truth about it.

He is right... Edmunds doesn't do financing. We also don't lie.. ;-)

Thanks, Kyfdx! Fair enough. I've been bitten once with our first lease of Lexus ES 350, we negotiated the purchase price and ended up leasing "without doing homework", they did juggled up the numbers and I paid so dearly. Is there any published source of reference for money factors and RV, etc. for leasing cars ? So I can give my dealer a quote. Anyway, really do appreciate your advice. Hope many others can benefit from your suggestions too.

I just leased a Q5 2.0T premium plus. 36 months, 45k miles. Sticker on car was $47605. I agreed to $648 a month with every last nickel rolled into payment including Audi Care. I'm in VA and sales tax is 4.0%. Seemed like a fair deal. Thoughts?

Based on the numbers alone, the TDI has the lowest MF and the highest residual. But, you may not be able to negotiate as much of a discount off the sticker price.

    It's really personal preference.

Hi Kyfdx, my Audi dealer finally agreed to the Edmunds quote of MF/RV. and sent me back these numbers.

Lease for 36 months/10k per year is, $560.80 plus 46.13 sales tax, for a total of $606.93. The lease factor is 1.46 and the residual is 60% of the window sticker of $52505, which is $31503.00. The total drive off is $1893.42, based on approval of credit from Audi top tier, which I have. We're in California.

For 48 month lease/10k per years is $544.02 plus tax of $44.75, for a total of $588.77. The lease factor is 1.77 and the residual is 53% which is $27827.65 of the $52505.00 window sticker. The drive off is $1875.26

Although MSRP is $52505, my negotiated selling price is $47600.

*** Are these good lease rate for either 36 months/48 months? Why lease rate is calculated on sticker price, not purchase price I negotiated? ***

I would definitely stick with the 36 month lease. My calculated payment is within a couple of dollars of the quote, so that's good.

Only the residual is based on the MSRP. That is how much the car is worth at lease end. That is a fixed percentage of MSRP, because no matter what price you negotiate, it's still the same car. Your depreciation is the difference between your selling price and the residual, so with the fixed residual, every dollar you negotiate lower goes right to your bottom line.

Audis are not cheap to lease, but if you can get a lease with the base rates and a good discount from MSRP, then that is the best you can do.

    .00152 and 60% for 36/12.

We would need to know the negotiated selling price to model a payment.

Hello - Just curious if this is a good lease deal on a 2015 Q5 2.0T Premium Plus. Lease is for 10,000 miles a year, 36 months. MSRP on the car is $47,605. Trying to get 7% of the sticker. I'm assuming dealer does not mark up Sep money factor (.00152) and residual is what is set by Audi which I believe is 58% plus 1% for $860 Audi care.

    Cap cost is as follows:

    $44,273 (7% off sticker)
+$2,100 (this is Texas 6.25% sales tax on price of the Q5 less about $11,000 for a trade)
    +$860 (Audi Care)
-3000 equity applied from trade (mostly just offsetting the up front taxes)
    ____________

    44,233

    Monthly pmt = 558

    Due at Signing
    Capital reduction $3,000 (from trade)
    1st month pmt $533
    initiation fee
    bank fees 695
    docs 125
    plates and reg 250
    Total $4,603

Wondering if there is any way to do better on this lease?

Audi rarely supports their leases with low MF or high residuals.

Hello. First timer. Looking at a 2015 Audi Q5 3.0 TDI with a MSRP of $54,525. Haven't negotiated a lease before. 12,000 miles/36 months; $5 K down titled in Philadelphia. Not sure what a good target purchase price would be along with a MF and Residual Factor. Thanks!

    .00127 MF and 59% residual.

6% off MSRP is usually about the best you can do on a new Audi, unless there are other incentives, but plenty of people do worse than that..

Hi…can I have your comments as to this deal I signed today?

2015 Q5 2.0 premium, with options, and audi care, selling price $41,443.00.

salesman said they won’t do less than $750. over invoice, which is what he’s charging.

upfront cost = $2,051, less $1,000 loyaty rebate, so $1,051 out of pocket

    lease @ 36 mo/15K

    MF @.00134

    Residual 57%

As part of deal... the dealer will absorb my last month lease payment from my expiring lease of $560., and he’ll eat the $500.00 or so of excess mileage charge on my outgoing car.

Q5 monthly lease will be $583…including NJ tax

    How’d I do?
