Hey guys,

Is the following a good 36mos/10k in NYC a good deal:

2016 GLE350 4Matic
MSRP: $60,870
Selling price: $$54,783 (10% off)
MF: Unknown but with auto pay and below average rate (lol)
Residual: 57%
Upfront fees: ~$1900 (sales tax + 1st mo + bank fee)
Dealer fees: Unknown yet
Monthly payment: approx. $600 +/- $5

Maintenance package thrown in. Returning a 2014 e350.

I'm meeting with the dealer later in the day to get the specifics but just wanting to know if the above would be considered a good price.

Assuming your upfront covers all other charges/taxes, and .00034 for autopay, I get $622/mo. Again, with 55% residual

Would that be a decent deal? I got the sense that they are trying to get rid of the 2016's.

$945 has to be the acquisition fee. Dealer fees are capped at $75 in NY.

These numbers look great. How is the tax figured in NY? Here, I thought it was on both the rent (depreciation) and financing, added in monthly. Is the tax paid in full in advance in NY?

In NY, the sales tax is calculated against the sum of the payments and collected by the state up front. Customer can choose to write a check as part of the drive off costs, or add the tax amount into the cap cost, which then makes the tax subject to the interest rate of the lease.

Met with dealer today and agreed on following:

2016 GLE350 4MATIC
with premium 1, parking assist, handful of other doodads (trailer hitch that I will never use, heated steering wheel, etc)
MSRP 62380
Selling price 54900
Cap cost reduction 600
MF 0.00034 with autopay
Residual is 56% for 7500 miles/year
Drive off 2300 including acquisition, documents, and above mentioned 600 cap cost reduction
Total monthly payment: 600 including 6.25% tax

I'm pretty stoked...feels like a great deal and I love the car...

After I got home, I saw that MB has the 2017 GLE up on the site, so maybe that helps the 2016s move more easily...

My dealer used another fleet incentive that was more than the AMA EAB (2000 for 2016 GLE). You can't apply more than one fleet incentive, so it depends on if the price they quote you already has one applied.

Regarding deals on the 2016's, I think it will depend on how much inventory is left. If there is a lot, MB might be motivated to move them out.

"$2500 down, plus 1st month payment, your payment would be $717.67 a month for 36 months, with 15k miles per year. This quote includes the $1095 acquisition fee and the $277 title and doc fee. and your wife's fleet discount. ($2K) The money factor is .00127 and the residual is 52% ($30,862). $52,870 adjusted CAP COST. Does this align?

Well, both the MF and the acquisition fee are marked up, to begin with.

Fleet discount isn't coming close to offsetting that.

Be polite and let them know you won't sign a deal with an inflated MF.

With some work I have new #'s although I am not sure how good they are. 2017 GLE350 4MATIC. 36/15K With only acquisition and 1st month payment due at signing ($1420.26) and I agree to autopay, it's $625.26 a month. This quote includes discounts and fleet incentives. If you want to put down $2500 plus 1st, it will be $568.61.

What does the total at signing cover?

What is the adjusted cap cost?

Using your numbers, as is, I get $698/mo. Base MF will save you $8/mo.

Using the base MF of .00044 and the 36/7.5 residual of 56%, your prices give me a payment of $579/mo plus tax.
