Thanks for all the info in the thread.

I just got back from the dealer..

2016 GTI S, 6-speed, 4 door.
New Jersey
.00208 MF and 50% residual for 48mo, 15k/yr.

Dealer says the MF and residual are both set numbers and cannot be changed by him. Do these seem right? I have perfect credit. At first he said MF was .0016, but that was for a 36mo lease supposably.. Just making sure Im getting a decent deal.

I'm looking for a second opinion on my lease deal (36/10). The GTI I'm interested in is a 2015 3-door with DSG and Lighting Package. Here's the details:

MSRP: $27,935
Cap Cost: $22,911
Monthly Payment: $260

No money down at all. The use sales tax in MN is 6.5%.

.00045 and 54% for 36/10 on the 2015 GTI.

Using your MSRP and cap cost, I get $250/mo with 6.5% tax. Must be a fee added into the cap cost somewhere ($360 worth, to be exact).

Still, that's a pretty good deal for a GTI.

Looking to lease 2016 4dr SE w/ PP and LP for 10mi 36mo in california. A dealer agreed to 3510 off MSRP but is giving me $399/mo + tax. That seems too high for me. Can someone help me out with math here? Thank you!

thanks! I'm getting 5k off and they said they would match true car at 6k, msrp is 35 and change
-6k discount plus rolling in my last 5 lease payments ($1800) with tax/title i get at 36/10 $356 a month and the difference in going for a 2016 is about $75 a month i think its worth it to get a 2015

So I signed a lease for a 2015 GTI back at the end of July, and I just wanted to see what kind of deal I got. This is the first car I've ever bought/leased and I definitely want to make sure that I learn from the experience if I could've done better.

The GTI is a 2015 4 door SE, MSRP was $31,000 and the agreed upon purchase price was $29,400. Residual was 54% or $16,740

The gross cap cost was $30,174 which included a $149 service contract and the $625 acq fee.

I put $1,500 down which amounted to a capital cost reduction of 598.36 after the other fees.

Adjusted cap cost =29575.64
Base payments = 14086.44 = (1250.80 rent charge + 12835.64 depreciation)

Money factor = .00075

36 mo lease for 12k miles
391.29 base payment+34.24 sales tax
=425.53 monthly payment

Okay thanks for the input. Is my money factor reasonable? This is in the San Francisco Bay Area.

I think that's what the rate was in July, but I don't have the information any longer to confirm.

quick question because i want to be prepared for negotiating tomorrow.

In regards to the lease cash, presidents day bonus, and loyalty bonus....are the dealers reimbursed by vw for these bonuses? I ask because i dont want the dealer to say we are already giving you 2k off msrp with bonuses so we cant go any lower on the sale price if they are actually not really giving away that money since its coming back to them later on.

Research your prices to figure out a fair deal before incentives.

So far as I know, the incentives come from VW and not the dealer.
